Got my CD yesterday from Amazon. Listening over and over this morning as I scan the news. I agree with Rick that it would have been nice if Happy Christmas was on it, but that might not go over well with people who bought both CDs, casual Christmas music buyers. Hallelujah, I don't really see as Christmas music. I don't think anybody but fans (of either Jackie or Peter) will notice the pitch- but I also hear a glitch in the sound of Jackie's voice at 1:33. Just my disc? Besides the change in pitch, up 1/2 tone from D to Eb, I hear an "electronic pulsing" sound throughout the track on the CD. It sounds like the sound you hear when you run music thru cheap software to change the pitch or tempo without changing both at the same time. (Both change on analog equipment, like when you played 33-1/3 RPM albums at 16-2/3 RPM speed - the tempo would be half as fast & the pitch would be an octave lower.) Sony REALLY needs to make this right. Jackie should sue them if they don't - or we should all do it. On more listenings, I do hear what you mean, throughout- 1:33 just being the most noticeable point, I guess because of the intensity of Jackie's tone there. Little pieces missing.

I'm getting really worked up about this. Sony REALLY needs to make this right. We should start by bombarding them with complaints.

I bought the CD at Barnes & Noble today. I like the back cover photo better, looks more like the Jackie we often see. The front cover is too airbrushed for my taste. It's cute, though, with Jackie having a sly expression, as if she's just snatched one of the cookies left out for Santa Claus. Interesting, says produced by Nick Patrick, Dina Finai, Heather Holley & Peter Hollens.
I was assisted, sort of, by this flakey clerk--35, going on 19--who kept saying "ee-VAHN-ch'o", even after I corrected her. They had a Halloween section set up. I asked re Xmas CDs (she actually said "X-Mass"). She indicated two shoebox-sized boxes behind her, saying they were "hiding" them for now, but it was OK for me to buy one now. Whew! The sticker with the bar code said $14.99, but there was another sticker on it that said $11.99. She had to call the manager to ask if I could get that price, since the CD had not been put out yet. While waiting, I realized how ridiculous it was. I had already spent several hundred dollars on concert tickets, airfare and hotels for my Thanksgiving Jackie weekend and here I am haggling over three bucks, while I'm due at the movie theater in 10 minutes.
Btw, the movie was "Inferno" with Tom Hanks. At the beginning, he looks out a hospital window and says "That's the Palazzo Vecchio! What am I doing in Florence" A Jackie reminder, as she had performed there for Fight Night Italy.

Mike, Re: "ee-VAHN-ch'o" To be fair, the "vahnk" part is probably closer to the original Russian/Ukranian than the way the E's pronounce it (i.e. "vank" to rhyme with "bank"). I think this is right (now fixed! I think): Иванко. But of course pronouncing it like the usual English "ch" would not be kosher!
Re: Firenze (Florence) Jackie took pics in front of the Ponte Vecchio, on the banks of the Arno, which she'd been singing about in OMBC since age 8. I always wondered if she knew that at the time.
Jackie's Christmas music usually isn't on top of my list, even though she's done 3 albums of it: OHN, HC & now SAC. But with SAC she's surpassed herself. It's by far my fave of the three.

Frisco, have you forgotten that half of these songs were released two years ago on the Awakening Christmas EP?

After 1 day, Someday At Christmas totals about 20,000 views on Vevo (11 tracks). Most popular is Little Drummer Boy (with Il Volo), at 7,832 views. Next is Someday At Christmas with 2,556 views.
Comparison with most popular 'popular' videos: AOTS 3,900 views/day S&S 2,200 Apoc 1,800 WOTW 1,800

Maybe someone here bought that version (or can log on there to listen to a sample?). The iTunes version would seemingly be a lot easier to fix, while the CD is a permanent piece of plastic. Sony should AT LEAST give us a free, corrected downloadable version!

Jackie's CD was released on the 28th. Today is the 30th and Amazon still hasn't shipped my CD. Either they sold a zillion of them and haven't gotten to mine yet or they skipped mine. Maybe they are waiting for replacement CD's because of the chipmunk song. I don't know.

Amazon says my CD is expected to ship today and will arrive Thursday, but I've gotten no email notification of shipment.

FYI, the iTunes "Someday at Christmas" album does not have the mangled track. Someone explain to me why the iTunes release is fine and all the others are not. Clearly, Apple bought someone off inside Sony to "fix" the other formats. I didn't pay for Hallelujah again at Amazon, so I don't know if the MP3 sold there has the issue or not.

I guess I'm a little slow. I just now got what you guys mean by "chipmunk song".
I've listened to Little Drummer Boy numerous times today, both versions. I'm putting the CD away now until after Thanksgiving. I've got my fingers crossed, hoping that the next time I hear LDB it will be in the acoustically excellent Count Basie Theatre.
I hope that Jackie has some TV appearances lined up for the holidays again. I think she should sing LDB and SAC on the TV shows. OHN is wonderful, but she did that the last two years.

If the digital tracks are all OK, something went wrong when they "printed" the CDs.
I wonder how many CDs were affected, the whole run or just a portion?
