I'm wondering if Jackie recorded some extra songs with Heavenly Christmas and the Walmart EP that weren't released. Maybe they will be on the new album, or it will be all new material. We know the title track is new.
I'm also wondering if Jackie's people will give us any information. Track list? Will they release a few preview songs? It goes on sale October 28 less than two months away. The CD will be on Sony Masterworks Portrait label.

I am really looking forward to this new album! Somewhere I heard that the album will have only a couple new tracks, one being the song Jackie sings on the upcoming AGT holiday show (hence the title), and the remainder will be already recorded and released tracks. Whether or not that is actually is the case remains to be seen, of course. It is possible that they will incorporate the six tracks from the Walmart edition of "Awakening" plus maybe also include the four tracks from the "O Holy Night"EP-- that plus the two new tracks would make a 12-track album. Or there indeed may be other tracks which were recorded and not previously released. This album will undoubtedly be released both in downloadable format via iTunes and Amazon, and also be sold in stores in the CD format, too.
This also is different than what Jackie has been working on with the songwriters in LA and NYC -- we can still be looking forward to that new album, too.

If so, there could be more to look forward to eventually. It does make sense that the upcoming Xmas CD could be partly the previous bonus tracks. For holiday time tours, she usually sings more Xmas music in her concerts. So really, the new stuff from Dina, Heather et al may not be sung in concerts till after the holidays anyway. Will she delay release till then, or even later? Maybe Jackie is getting to be like other artists, whose new albums sometimes get delayed for months or even years. I hear that Adele completely revamped her 25 because she thought the original wasn't good enough.

I'm thinking that perhaps there is some contractual thing with Sony/Masterworks/Portrait and that this Christmas album is fulfilling contractual obligations. Perhaps this will be the final album for them, or perhaps Jackie has a looser arrangement with them the way some of the other Portrait artists seem to do. A new album at Christmastime is a good idea, really, as it will give Jackie something to sing during the holiday season concerts in addition to her regular repertoire and it will also gives fans something new to buy for themselves (plus as Christmas gifts for friends and family) while Jackie is still working on her album that she had told us in the Q&A would be a mixture of originals and covers. Jackie has said in the past that she is a perfectionist and that she wants this new album to be really special for all of us.

Nice to think that we will be getting another Christmas CD album. I'm hoping that it will include some of her latest tracks only sold in MP3 format. I still find it more convenient to pop a CD in the car and also at home. CD's still sell better than MP3 downloads as far as I know, I could be completely wrong but seeing a CD on the shelf I have always imagined is more likely to sell to the general public. I know there's a big market out there for MP3 stuff. There is a little old lady who lives down the street from my place and she just buys Jackie's CD's and can't get her head around MP3 stuff so she just watches her on what was her Forum. She's mega miffed by the forum closing down and I went down to her yesterday and showed her the new forum . She was pleased with that but like so many of us a bit bewildered by what's happened. Maybe we may never know the guts of it all. There appears to be a new Jackie site that looks like it's set up by the 'E-team'. I tried to get on to it but with no luck so see what it is all about. Maybe somebody might have some information about it. Ok, time to fly off so till next time. Amigo.

Amigo, can you tell us a little more about this new Jackie site possibly set up by the "E-team"? Another web-based forum or something such as a group on Facebook? Or do you mean an actual official website? A few months ago they did launch the new official website for Jackie at www.jackieevancho.com Do you have a link or URL for whatever it is you saw? Yes, by having CDs on display in stores there is a greater likelihood of impulse buys, as someone who may be looking for a new album by a different artist may happen to see that, oh, Jackie Evancho's got a new album out! I rather imagine the album will be completely Christmas-themed, though, rather than including some of the new stuff Jackie has been working on this past spring and summer. I believe that will be an entirely different album; no idea when we'll get that one in our ears! As for mp3s/downloads versus CDs, there is something to be said for each format, of course. I find it very convenient to hop into iTunes and immediately purchase an album or perhaps just cherry-pick a few tracks. I've bought a lot of music in the middle of the night that way! I tend to do that for most of the music I buy. If I decide I want a CD for the car, I go ahead and burn myself a copy to use in the car's CD player. That said, there are a few artists whose albums I always buy on CD -- Jackie being one of them -- and then I import the tracks into my iTunes library. Sometimes I've bought the album in both formats, too, especially if there is a special deluxe version on CD being offered by Target, Walmart, B&N, etc., or the version being distributed to the Japanese and Asian market, which includes a bonus track or two.

Hi Clix, Anyway I am quiet happy to go with this forum as it looks like the 'old' members,(no disrespect to the more 'mature' members,) lol.lol, are going to come back and we will get back into the swing of things again. I wonder where Lisa will be looking for input, this site or one of the others. Interesting, and who knows we might eventually get to the bottom of this mystery. I think Lisa owes us all that much. We have always had the greatest respect for Lisa and enjoyed her input from time to time and it would be nice to hear from her again.
I see your point about 'itunes/MP3 downloads, I am only a bit disappointed that I don't have the facilities nor the expertise to download and burn to CD's all her latest single releases. Hopefully they will appear on her new CD later this year. Since recently relocating down here to New Zealand I am surprised that she isn't known very well down here and also you can';t buy any of her music either. She does have a small fan following here and the local radio station will play her music on request. This must be the only spot on the planet that she hasn't been promoted in. I've brought all her music CD's and DVDs with for the time I am here and now of course I can tune in to this site. I look forward to reading all the posts and occasionally sticking a few of my own.
Amigo. (from the land of the long white cloud)

Hi there, Amigo! So you're currently "down under" in Kiwi land, eh? That should be an interesting experience for you! I'd love to see Australia and New Zealand -- I hear they are both beautiful countries. Maybe some day Jackie will do a tour in that part of the world, but probably not until she is able to travel and perform full-time. That would definitely bring her to notice in NZ! I seem to recall that Molly Meldrum from Australia did an interview of her right after she first because famous, and that took place at her grandparents' home. I remember them all standing out on the lawn...... I'm glad there are some fans in NZ and I hope that when the new Christmas album becomes available that you will be able to purchase it somehow. I don't know if Amazon has a NZ page or not.
Looking forward to hearing more from you as you explore both this new forum and your (temporary) new country!

Hi there, Amigo! Ah, OK! This is definitely the Jackie Evancho official website and it looks as though there is a forum feature as part of the overall hosting package but apparently the forum has not been set up or activated yet. Possibly it never will be. ? It may be that Team Evancho decided at this time not to go ahead with the project. [edited to add: I don't know what this funny little symbol is and I cannot seem to remove it. Sorry about that!] So you're currently "down under" in Kiwi land, eh? Hi Clix, yes I think you have hit the nail on the head,so to speak. It may well be that the JE Team may not continue with that site. It's definitely not activated. Anyway we have our own site now so it's immaterial. I've been down here a few times before and yes, New Zealand is a beautiful country, almost one of the last frontiers. Where I am is in the South Island and the scenery is mind blowing. It reminds me a lot of home (Canada) with mountain ranges that look remarkably like the Rockies covered in snow. Loads of lakes etc. The only thing is they drive on the wrong side of the road but that's not a problem because the steering wheel is also on the wrong side too. lol.lol. Australia is a pretty vast place, I was there for a while some years ago in Brisbane. Too many nasty things in Australia, spiders snakes and all sorts of creepy crawlers. New Zealand doesn't have any snakes so that's a bonus. The folks I know down here all love Jackie's music and I've been in touch with the local radio station and had some of her music played as well. Incidentally the beer down here isn't half bad so I will be sampling a few.lol. lol.

Ah, looks as though someone saw the discussion here, checked things out and remedied the situation; certainly it makes sense to me that if a forum is not ready to "go live," it should not be visible to anyone prior to everything being set in place. We'll see what happens as time goes on......
