My only complaint was the house mix was too loud throughout the show, and during a few songs, Somewhere especially, the backing track was much too loud drowning out Jackie's voice. Reverb was a little much on a few songs also. Where were you sitting? I was in B 118 (2nd row center section but only about half a dozen seats from the left edge of the section), and to me it seemed less out of balance, with the accompaniment almost having to crank up to match Jackie at least once. Not sure that there was much reverb, I suspect they were using more amplification than they needed given that she's far more powerful now than when she was younger, so strong input plus strong amplification in small venue equals being just below feedback. Plus even if they ran through a representative sample of low and high volume level songs in rehearsal, the acoustics of an empty hall and a full one are different, so it's hard to get right for performance when it's the first time in that hall with audience for that performer. If they did multiple nights at the same location, I'd expect that problems noted one night would be fixed the next. Jorn is as good on the piano as Kiesewalter (Awakening and Two Hearts) was if slightly differently so (both could really tear into it in their instrumental segments), and seems a bit more relaxed with the multitasking of also cueing the other accompanists, controlling the backing track timing, etc. Just behind you, row D 124-125 (left Aisle). Did the security guy visit you? The accompanists should be aligning their levels with the singer, and the Board operator (Will) should also be assuring it through the house mix. The backing track level, however, is all Will and during Somewhere, Jackie was drown out for the first 10 or so seconds, then again toward the middle.

Concert Review: Jackie's voice was stronger tonight than I've heard before in concert. Her nerves got to her a few times, but nothing significant, flubbed a word here or there and she either smiled or on one occasion, her eyes got wide but only for spilt second, than right back on track. Also, her timing seemed to be a bit off on a few songs, but I could be wrong. Jackie did hit some amazing high notes that blew me away on a few songs, especially The Prayer, Somewhere and Believe. Best I've heard to date. Jackie was beautiful but thinner than I've seen her. She appeared healthy and had a bright engaging smile. She moved about the stage and was very animated during her songs. Jackie thanked everyone for attending her first concert back, "two years is too long" she said. Jackie said it was nice that her first concert back was a Christmas Concert, and that she was nervous, but that's just human. She was also more emotional during some of the song introductions than I've witnessed before. During the intro to How Great Thou Art, Jackie seemed to choke back a tear and her voice broke slightly. Jackie also thanked her little sister Rachel for being there for moral support. I saw Mike a few times on the side of the stage, but not Rachel. Jackie's first dress was a beautiful a maroon velvet off the shoulder evening gown, but was a bit clingy. The second set dress was a translucent white full length dress, with a low cut front. Beneath she was appeared to wearing a dark yellow jumper. I didn't care for it, but my wife loved it. My only complaint was the house mix was too loud throughout the show, and during a few songs, Somewhere especially, the backing track was much too loud drowning out Jackie's voice. Reverb was a little much on a few songs also. Set list: 1. Silver Bells 2. Christmas Waltz 3. I'll be Home for Christmas 4. Phantom of the Opera Melody - Music of the Night - Point of no Return - All I want from you 5. River 6. She Used to be Mine 7. Merry Christmas Darling 8. The Prayer - Christmas Song Instrumental Interlude
9. The Christmas Song 10. How Great Thou Art Intermission 11. Misty 12. Silent Night 13. Burn 14. Believe 15. Once Upon a December 16. Somewhere - Another Christmas and Wizard of the Oz Instrumental Interlude 17. Somewhere Over the Rainbow 18. White Christmas 19. The Impossible Dream (Dedicated to her fans; Final Song) 20. O Mio Babbino Caro/Nessun Dorma Mashup (Encore 1) 21. Oh Holy Night (Encore 2) I believe #4 All I Want From You S/B "All I Ask Of You"!
I believe #4 All I Want From You S/B "All I Ask Of You"! I believe #4 All I Want From You S/B "All I Ask Of You"! HA! Yes, yes it was. Typing after a 9 hour drive, quick bite to eat and 2 1/2 hours of Jackie Overload can be problematic.

Your comments about Jackie being thinner and she skinny are not being helpful to her recovery. Your comments on this issue are misplaced. I would agree with you if this was posted on her social media or in a place where we know she reads. She definitely doesn't read these boards, and concerned Jackie fans are going to be watching and discussing how healthy she looks A LOT! Stop tryng to sweep the issue under the rug and pretend like it doesn't exist. That's not going to happen. I would agree that nobody should talk about her weight anywhere where Jackie frequents...absolutely not! Jackie may not personally read these comments but certain members of her inner circle certainly do. I'm positive Juilet does. There has been no shortage of whistleblowers(lol!) e mailing Mike or Lisa filling them in over the years.

If Juliet ever did frequent this board and read a post where someone said that Jackie looked skinny, do you really think that she would tell Jackie that? Of course not, she loves her sister and wants her to get better. The family is shielding her. This discussion group is pretty good, but the other one is toxic as hell and I can pretty much guarantee you that if anyone in Jackie's family were ever unfortunate enough to stumble upon it, they would very quickly run screaming, what with all its Jackie bashing.

Did the security guy visit you? No, but he did get someone in the front row doing video, and someone a couple of seats over. I didn't attempt video, just got a few stills, of which I posted one each dress that were better than the others. At least, I haven't looked back on the one on the pocket cam yet, because the phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max) did MUCH better with the difficult lighting than previous iPhones have. I've carried the pocket cam as backup for that reason, but I guess I don't need to do that anymore. I did notice that it's more complicated to turn off the flash now, but fortunately I aimed at the floor to test, so it didn't bother anyone, and I figured it out. Clearly I need to practice with the phone camera a little; photography isn't normally my thing.

This I found in another forum.
From the Millersville venue web site: Strange since there were quite a few empty seats, hard to say how many total but Row E behind me had 6 empty plus a few rows toward the back were pretty sparsely filled. Sold out is good for the theater, but butts in seats are better for Jackie. My guess was about 75% filled, but it could have been higher.

I look at it this way: After being out of the public eye for 2 years and the pandemic lowering the average attention span, I would consider 75% or 475 people willing to buy a ticket and travel to the venue to see her, a most unexpected surprise! My fear was that she would be informed of a low turnout and walk onstage to a mostly empty theater! There are those that will say cheap tickets and a chance to get out of the house is what sold tickets! I don't think so! Jackie had to be known to a good percentage of those 475 people and curiosity and her voice, pulled them in! And they got what they came for!! IMHO, Jackie's voice is stronger and more powerful, which lends to an increase in projection, and this concert was a huge success!
Hopefully, the success of this concert will encourage her to book other venues after the new year, before March!

Naw, not going to happen Willy. Jackie needs more time to recuperate and needs new material to draw people in. I think people are becoming bored with the same old regurgitated songs, time for something fresh.

I'm sure her plan is to release the next album in the first quarter off 2022 (per her label), and then start booking corresponding tour dates like she normally does (before covid).

Naw, not going to happen Willy. Jackie needs more time to recuperate and needs new material to draw people in. I think people are becoming bored with the same old regurgitated songs, time for something fresh. I think that's true to a degree, but like many well known artists, folks want to here Jackie's "golden oldies" from the Dream with Me era. New material, especially if it is well received by fans and critics alike would get some buz going and could increase her live crowds. Personally, I love hearing some of the same old songs in concert, Jackie always seems to improve/change/re-interrupt Lovers, The Prayer, Nessun Dorma, etc. and for long term fans, that's what we want. Even some first time concert goers want to hear those YouTube classics live, nothing like it. COVID really put a damper on the Masked Singer Kitty momentum and we can only speculate what could have happen were it not for the pandemic. The delay in her latest album, the car accident and Jackie's struggles with Body Dysmorphia in addition to Mike and Lisa's divorce have all piled up her over the past two years. I think anyone would struggle, I know I would.
