Jackie Junkies via Twitter: Jackie is currently number two on Billboard Cllassical Charts! Beachguy via this forum , I did not think or like ( sorry ) this album for a 16 year old even if her fan base is older folks like us ( 18 to 38 is the good buying base ) from the start and her PR of signing some was a hint it was not selling , yes it is # 2 there but not in the top 50 anymore on the Holiday Album Charts , people need to face the facts and truth how her team is doing with her career , is this the correct path for her ? do you want high on the classical charts or the main charts of sellers ? there are negatives as well as positives and both need to be looked at if she is going where she wants and dreams to go

A media review of 12 Christmas CD's - Jackie is #5: "JACKIE EVANCHO “Someday at Christmas” (Sony Music Entertainment) Rating: *** of 4 At age 10, wunderkind Jackie Evancho wowed the world with her huge voice and second-place finish on “America’s Got Talent.” Six years later, she’s released her third Christmas collection, a shimmering showcase for her incredible vocal range and interests. She soars to the highest heights on a duet of “Hallelujah” with Peter Hollens, and while her crystalline notes fall quietly on the ear, it’s hard to understand the actual lyrics. Her soprano is much more satisfying on “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” with a version steeped in tradition. And even though she’s tried to cross into the pop realm — on display through “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Christmas Waltz” — she’s at her finest in the classical realm which first caught our attention. Still, she’s young and her developing voice is no match for Plácido Domingo’s booming resonance — but her many duets in this project display her talents for harmonies, as well as tender melodies. The oddest choice was including two versions of “Little Drummer Boy,” even though both are delightful. I’m looking forward to seeing how her artistry evolves. She has so many gifts to bring. Best song: “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” (listen below) — Diana Nollen, The Gazette www.thegazette.com/subject/life/arts/holiday-music-12-discs-of-christmas-20161127 What Gazette is she from ? what is media review ?

PGA: Obviously it's your right. Keep in mind, though, that it seems to have been Sony that instigated it. There were only 3 new tracks, the rest previously released. So she didn't do a whole lot of extra work on it. Sales are excellent considering those things, plus the chipmunk Hallelujah track. BG: "... people need to face the facts and truth how her team is doing with her career , is this the correct path for her ?" PGA: It's a fair question. But I'd say we need to be patient. It may take her literally years to find a niche for her artistry. Give her a chance. Patience is a virtue, LOL.

The Quote man , thanks , yes i know there are people behind the her , it seems no one was really in to this 100% to me anyways , what are the sales ? i said at first 150,000 but dropped it after hearing it to 100,000 , i am always saying she is or is being held in time now waiting till 18 , her chance will be in the future perhaps with Mr Foster , she will be the Boss in time . only time knows

Now (0020 EST, 2016 Nov 30) #4, behind Pentatonix, Il Volo with Plácido, & The PGs. If sales are really on the order of 100K, that's very high, much higher than I'd expect with this quick throw-together. An order of magnitude smaller would be believable. I wonder what the PHollens/Jackie vid is? Happy Christmas/War Is Over? Something else?

Jackie Evancho "Someday at Christmas" (Portrait) ★★★
The former wunderkind soprano is now all of 16, and she shows off a remarkably mature voice on her classically rooted Christmas outing. The music is at its most gorgeously formal in her duets with superstar tenor Plácido Domingo, but she also delivers a nicely down-to-earth version of Ronald Miller and Bryan Wells' title tune long associated with Stevie Wonder.

Great find, schrodinger. Thanks. Firefox cuts out some of the text for me, though, at least on the old PC (Vista) system. Does the LAT reference mean it was actually posted on their site? IDK what the "pressreader" is...

Excellent! So Jackie's string of #1's on the classical charts stays intact (of course #2 for PTAD after AGT wasn't bad). Maybe publicity is accumulating, or people are making holiday purchases. Or maybe people are happier now that the chipmunk Hallelujah is fixed.

mynorth.com/2016/12/268398/This Year’s New Christmas Music: Some Good & Some Grievous From Entertainment Writer, Ross Boissoneau By ROSS BOISSONEAU on December 6, 2016 Jackie Evancho – Someday at Christmas This is already the third holiday outing for the Youtube and America’s Got Talent star, though nine of the dozen tracks were previously released. Her clarity and musicality shine through on every song. “Guardian Angels” and “Pie Jesu,” duets with Placido Domingo, are (naturally enough) the most classical-leaning. The concluding “Little Drummer Boy” with Il Volo may be the disc’s best. The 16-year-old seems to attract nearly as much disparagement as admiration, but it’s pretty difficult to find a place to criticize this collection.
