RENAISSANCE GIRL Definition of Renaissance: The revival of art and literature under the influence of classical models.
The renaissance began in Florence in the 14th century. The intellectual basis of the Renaissance was its own invented version of humanism, derived from the rediscovery of classical Greek philosophy, such as that of Protagoras, who said that "Man is the measure of all things". Although the Renaissance saw revolutions in many intellectual pursuits, as well as social and political upheaval, it is perhaps best known for its artistic developments and contributions of such polymaths (person of wide-ranging knowledge or learning) as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, who inspired the term "Renaissance Man". (wikipedia)
Is it perhaps prophetic in a way that Jackie's first Public Television concert stage had the statue of Michelangelo's David shown high at its center directly behind little Jackie as she performed When You Wish Upon A Star? "Like a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in a sees you through". Jackie said in her intro to the DWM in Concert performance, "Sometimes my dreams lead to bigger dreams". Jackie has said in interviews that she wants to be "a kind of Renaissance man", she "wants to do it all".
We know of her early attempts at WRITING with "Dream with Me" and now in her recent expoits with her Pop originals, she shows the depth of her inner awareness. All had begun with her innate inclination toward the classical and desire to express herself at the age of 8.
She has ventured successfully into MODELING with "Guess Kids". And, what of her collection of stunning performance dresses she and her mother have chosen for her concerts? She is a very fashion conscious young lady, tastefully wearing anything from popular jeans with knee holes to that gorgeous "Troy Theme" performance gown now to be seen world-wide.
Jackie is showing promise in the FINE ARTS with her paintings and drawings which demonstrate already her understanding of composition, subtlety of color and contrast, with nicely flowing line. She portrays an air of sensuality, grace, and a certain innocence in her female images. Jackie is not just drawing. She sings through her art, just as her artistry is portrayed in her music.
Jackie has a keen sense of rhythm, as of course she would, with a propensity toward DANCE which I think is shown by her hand-gesturing, head-swaying teen fun dancing in the car, quite imaginative and even symbolic. Much of her movement on stage has become more graceful.
Now, Jackie has revealed another interest, which I surmised would become evident at some time. It's not surprising, considering her love of animals, that Jackie would have an interest in horses, more than casual but an active desire, evidenced by the photo of her on horseback in English attire. Now, there is this video of her in Beijing engaged in a training excercise of a show horse with its trainer, who would have known somehow that Jackie would have an interest in participating. I wouldn't be surprised if Jackie had asked. She was being shown that communication with horses is a matter of visual language (cues), and of attitude and demeanor (assertiveness or withdrawing). HORSEMANSHIP is both psychology and the art of communication. If she continues in some way with horsemanship, her expressed interest in PSYCHOLOGY would be advantageous. It's all working with the mind whether human or animal.
Jackie is revealing to the world that she is indeed prodigiously talented and versatile, having indulged in a variety of endeavors, along with her extraordinary singing career. She is inventive, assertive and courageous. Is there any doubt that Jackie Evancho will always be successful at whatever she puts her mind to, whatever field of interest she may explore? We can only imagine with our fondest hopes what lies ahead for this budding Renaissance Girl, and what influence she will have in the advancement and betterment of art and humanity.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I had forgotten one of Jackie's most significant ventures.
In Sept. 2012, the release of Robert Redford's film The Company You Keep introduced Jackie to the world in an ACTING role as his 11 year old daughter in the story, a relatively significant character. She has expressed an interest in acting again if the opportunity were to arise.
Edit: Correction, the film was released March, 2013.
Second edit: Jackie was 11 when her part was filmed.

IMDb says 2012, but this is wrong. In the July 2012 WNEM interview (since deleted) Jackie said it would be released in March 2013 and it was. Jackie filmed her part in September 2011. Maybe you are confusing that with the release a year later.

A U.S. limited release began in April 2013, followed by wider North American release later in the month and releases in various foreign markets through December 2013. The film received a mixed reception from the critics in the U.S. but a generally favorable one abroad. It grossed $5.1 million in the U.S. and Canada, with foreign sales reaching $14.5 million.[2](Wikipedia) The Toronto 2012 showing was a pre-release film festival screening. Jackie attended the New York premiere April 1, 2013.

Oh, that's right. I remember now that Redford said he saw her on AGT when she was 10, which inspired him to cast her in the role. I thought it was on DWMIC(?), filmed just after her 11th BD. Definitely DWMIC. The RR / Steponapolomus interview said he saw her singing Pucinni (ND) on a big stage with a big orchestra. Could not have been AGT or BGT 2011, no orchestra. Her calm and control really impressed him. He had his people call her people . Got her on a Tuesday started filming Wednesday. That was the autumn 2011. She was 11 1/2.

That was the autumn 2011. She was 11 1/2. Actually, where RR first saw Jackie is very confusing, at least to me. I first saw an interview where RR said he saw her on AGT (the 2011 fall guest appearance afaik). That interview is still up as I've seen it in the past 2 weeks while looking at youtube videos. Later, in other appearances, he implied it was her concert. Jackie herself said least once, he saw her in DWMIC. I don't think we'll ever know for sure unless someone specifically questions RR again about the details. I've given up on knowing for certain. Actually, he might have seen her in both. He also might have been confused or forgotten as he said he had been drinking in his room watching tv. Interestingly, costar Susan Sarandon, who stated she didn't have or watch TV at home, said she went back to her hotel one evening from the movie work, turned on the TV and saw Jackie in the DWMIC PBS special. She was stunned and went into work the next day raving about the little girl in the PBS special. The explanation of why RR hadn't found a girl to cast as his daughter always interested me. I came to the conclusion that although he had interviewed numerous qualified child actressess, he really didn't want someone to repeat lines some adult had written or given her to say. That would be a little too artificial. He wanted someone who, after explaining a situation to them, would react using their own words with his guidance, That's what he wanted with Jackie and what he got. He said they worked on it together going back and forth playing off each other. As a dad and grand dad himself, he had good idea what he wanted. He said children should just "be". Jackie, with her substantial performing and interview experience, apparently was a natural. It was quite strange to see Jackie as a young girl in the movie when it was made and then to see her at the premieres about a year and a half later. The difference in her appearance was striking. The young girl from the movie was gone and a young lady had appeared.

Would love to see this if it was stated in an interview. I will search, but perchance thou hast a link?

Here is that section from the interview: That Redford movie? It's called "The Company You Keep" and features the film debut of Richland singing sensation Jackie Evancho. "I did discover her simultaneously when he did," she said. Ms. Sarandon doesn't have a TV at home, but she was in a hotel watching what must have been the PBS pledge programming showcase, "Jackie Evancho: Dream With Me in Concert." She was mesmerized, and so was Mr. Redford. "I went in the next day and I was talking about her, and he said, 'Oh my God, is that that girl? I saw her, too. Do you think she could play my daughter?' And the next thing I knew, they'd gotten an audition tape flown in, and she's in the movie, but she got there after I left." I see Jackie as just a delightful girl from next door with hobbies and talents as millions of teens have , many with great talents of all kinds , there are tons of youth on social media with musical abilities hard to believe as some very young as 6 ,the age i knew of her as a near neighbor for some years , i learned she dreamed to be a Rock Star as a very early age , i don't go over board on her in too high of praises to not put the expectations too high for her good as is uncalled for , she to me has a wonderful sounding voice as a very fine singer with to me of opinion the best tone i have heard in my lifetime , i know very little of her personal life that is not written in PR articles on social media , i do have family members and friends living near her parents place of living but i ask for no info or talk of her from them , she is a teen and should have her privacy even if in show-biz . I am waiting for the GO TIME in her career be it what ever as i hear in my ears her voice
