A good review by what seems to be a serious writer.

I wonder if the entire set list is mentioned in the article.

This will be an especially memorable week for Jackie, I would think. Turning 17 on Sunday and her debut at the Carlyle, with a birthday surprise to boot. Perhaps second only to the inauguration performance which she said she will remember the rest of her life. All the pictures revealed this week have shown that Jackie is very happy. She is showing increased confidence, enthusiasm and expresses a cheerful air of delight in what she is doing. Truly a remarkable young lady and gift to humanity.

I wonder if the entire set list is mentioned in the article. Jackie Junkies posted a pic of it. Looked like a table placard. Attachments:

Nice set list. I look forward to hearing We've Only Just Begun. I expect it will be as golden as TWWW.

That pretty much qualifies as a rave review, & the writer seems to have credibility. Maybe these positive reviews will bring in more crowds.

So, there are something like 88 seats at the Café Carlyle, and now we know that at least 3 were filled by critics on opening night.

JACQUELIN MARIE EVANCHO has been making history since she was in the fifth grade. Imagine that!
And, we are witness to it.

Hopefully there'll be room one of these nights for Dina & Heather (& Robert?) to see their protégé/partner. Maybe the Carlyle will comp them for Jackie, LOL...

Of course I wouldn't complain about the fulsome praise of Jackie's singing, but it might be a little too fulsome for New Yorkers to take seriously. And this sentence rubs me wrong: "... her pride in having sung at the Presidential Inaugural Gala three months ago is not likely to be applauded by the same folks who will cheer for her support of transgender rights." Many people (not just us here) applaud her for both, indeed because of her nature and attitude which enables her to encompass both. Besides which, it wasn't at the Gala, but the inauguration ceremony. But shame on me for bitching about a good review. I take it all back.

I'm a little confused about that. When was the "70th Annual Horatio Alger Awards" thing, with D. Foster? It's definitely not the same place as the pre-inauguration dinner, at the DC union station, the night PREVIOUS to the inauguration. I was under the impression that she had to head for Tyler, Texas immediately after the inauguration.
