Maybe Jackie will do country, or rap, THAT would be different !! LOL Country and folk (both domestic and Celtic...all related anyway) would IMO be quite doable for her, and some of those would be a better fit than some pop. And country and related folk does very well in "flyover country". :-)

Perhaps she will invent Country Rap! Is that C-rap for short? Let someone else have that, please! The melting pot is NOT a frog in a blender.

Jackie obviously has some surprises in store, but, despite her adventurous nature, I don't think she is going to make a major shift. To say it's "something I haven't done before"...I'm excited to see how it turns out" suggests she may have some innovations to reveal, either of her own or in collaboration, something she's been experimenting with. She was working with Jonas Myrin back in November. That may be a hint. I don't expect she has it in mind to abandon the CC genre which encompasses a wide variety of musical blends, though some would prefer she does. It's fun to speculate but it's also easy to let one's imagination run with his/her own preferences or expectations based on Jackie's tendency to be intriguingly vague. At this point she is not likely to turn off a significant portion of her audience with something dramatically different. jmo

She could also expand her audience by trying something dramatically different. Time will tell.

Here is an example of "non western" Tatiana Marie doing a nice job on a country/crossover classic from the 70's:

Jackie has shown that she can sing different genres with extraordinary versatility and interpretive skill. She did sing some country very well before AGT. But, Jackie is unique. She is not inclined to "fit in" to gain an audience, but to make her own special contribution as she has sought as an artist. It will be interesting and entertaining to watch as she discovers more of her potential and finds her niche.

Jackie can sing different songs from different genres, but she still does it using mostly her CC voice. Lexi Walker is a good example of a singer being able to jump from genre to genre and using a singing style to match it.

I for one appreciate that Jackie has the ability to make any song her own with her personal interpretation, emotion and voice. Covering another artist's song is an opportunity to personalize it in ones' own style. Jackie has done that since the beginning as a Classical Crossover artist, and very much admired for it. Btw, what is your point?

Jackie hasn't been quite as successful in truly diverging away from using her CC voice. When I have listened to her attempts to do just that, I still hear her CC voice come through.

Your point wasn't clear. I never thought Jackie was attempting to "truly diverge away from her CC voice". She has been experimenting with pop, but she's never indicated it was with an intention to acquire a pop voice. That must be your expectation. I don't think it's hers. Her CC voice does "come through" and that's part of what makes the song her own and identifiable as Jackie Evancho.

She could easily record an album of Jazz standards.
