Good find willyiam!
"“An Evening with Jackie Evancho” is slated for the Superpops series on April 27-28. The vocalist will be performing the “Star Spangled Banner” at Donald Trump’s inauguration."
I so want to be there. According to my infallible flip phone April 27-28 is a Thursday and Friday. Dang! I'd love to do both days but Friday is definitely on for me.
I know willyiam, you mentioned this event is not confirmed but it seems pretty solid from the press release you posted. Did I miss something there that gives you pause to caution us about not being confirmed?
Looking forward to more info as the date nears. Perhaps even the team may deign to make some passing reference to it.
Doc Severinsen and guest conductor Steven Reinke of the Boston Pops in an evening with AGT finalist Jackie Evancho.
An evening with Jackie Evancho sounds fascinating! Some big names in music have once again tapped our little teenager to headline a night of quality, and classy, entertainment. I'm so proud of Jackie as she gets recognition, in a step by step manner, from movers and shakers in the quality end of the entertainment industry.
The possibilities for the evening's song selections are mind boggling. This is a big deal imo.

It sure sounds official from their announcement. Presumably we'll know for sure soon.

Thx for the quick reply willyiam.

Coincidentally, I was just thinking this morning that if the new album is due out in the spring, there need to be some events scheduled where she can present the new material. Before today, there was only Seattle, right at the beginning of spring. This will be interesting to see where and when the concerts will be.

Doc, Reinke and Jackie are scheduled for different events, not together. The pdf lists Severinsen in November 2017, Reinke in Jan '18 and then Jackie in April '18.
Doc has quite a show, he performs a Holiday show 'Jingle Bell Doc' and in Minneapolis he has featured a city-wide handbell group that my brother has performed in. they are excellent...

So 89 year old Doc Severinsen is booked 15 months in advance? OK. I guess he's busy.

I like the bell group. Is this the furthest out Jackie has been booked for a gig? I can only imagine her July 4th and Memorial Day performances being scheduled that far in advance.

Can an Admin change the year of this thread to 2018? Thanks! Right. It's definitely 2018!

Wow, two nights running. I guess we can at last stop talking about the "2-year rule".

Having a little trouble extracting information. The DPAA apparently operates 3 or 4 venues. Where's Jackie? Where are the seating charts? What are the "pricing tiers"? A "Jackie Evancho" search at this site gave a zero result: daytonperformingarts.org/philharmonic

Jackie will legally be an adult at that concert. It will be a quick eight years and what a ride.
