Im quoting reddit posts for donkey, these were made the night of the 2020 TMS Finale (Kitty was eliminated prior):
Blitz1862 2 yr. ago I’ll take downvotes for this, but Jesse McCartney’s performance was inherently better than Kandi Burruss’s. He should’ve won the masked singer. This whole season proved that your skill and talent don’t matter (Ms. Monster, The Astronaut.) This entire season seemed rigged, and the good singers all got sent home. If the wanted a female to win, they should’ve traded Night Angel for the Kitty, since she had some incredible performances, against Night Angels inconsistency in her performances. Personally, this made me more upset than Rottweiler losing to the Fox, but at least it made sense. In my opinion, Jesse’s performance in the finale was incredible, and he should’ve won for it. Night Angel was (In my opinion) mediocre at best. She didn’t start off well, got into the grove halfway through, and then went back to where she started. In my opinion, the Order of eliminations up to the final from where Jesse McCartney got kicked off just should be drastically different. It should’ve been (Again, my opinion) Kitty, Turtle, and Astronaut. They were by far the strongest singers and performers this season, and I would’ve been fine with any of them winning, but the Night angel?! When she did her performances, more often than not, she wasn’t very good, but when she found a good song and performed well, it was good. But she had too many low quality performances, and she shouldn’t have made it as far as she did. 70 upvotes
Yesssss Turtle, Kitty and Astronaut were my top 3.
100% agree with this. The back to back eliminations of Astronaut & Kitty were frustrating.
In place of Kitty and Astronaut it should have been Night Angel, and either Rhino or Frog, more likely frog. Night Angel shouldn’t have made it is as far as she did. Like Gronk.
Absolutely. Frog was fun for awhile, but it got stale. Night Angel just never really impressed me. There were at least performances from Astro & Kitty that made me think they could compete. -- AlphaWolf0 2 yr. ago Completely jank that Turtle lost, Night Angel doesn't even deserve to be in the finale. Kitty was by far better all season. 39 upvotes
Agree, Cat was better and I'm shocked Turtle didn't win. -- RustyTaterTot13 2 yr. ago Rigged. If you’re gonna rig it for a female to win, at least make it the best female on the season (Kitty) 61 upvotes
Right?! I was shocked when she was voted off. Such a sad season. 11 upvotes -- avocadontoast 2 yr. ago I’m so sad kitty was eliminated when she was more consistent 4 upvotes
Right. I was rooting for turtle to win since I thought he was the best of the final 3. If It was Turtle vs Kitty I could at least be satisfied since they are both great. But Night angel was too inconsistent for me -- MisanthropeNotAutist 2 yr. ago Kitty was much better on every front. 19 upvotes
fugopannacotta 2 yr. ago right? and if a woman was gonna win, it should have been kitty. jackie evancho is leagues more talented than kandi. 32 upvotes
Omg. I agree Jackie was amazing. -- avelak 2 yr. ago Night angel should NOT have won, this s**t is rigged...
She wasn't even better than Kitty! 23 upvotes -- toxicboi3 2 yr. ago Season 2 my two favorites were Fox and Rottweiler. I was kinda bummed Rottweiler didn't win it, but I was happy that Fox did, as he was undeniably talented and worth the spot. This season? Unbelieveable. From multiple performers making it as far as they did without singing a word (the show's called The Masked Singer sometimes people here forget that), to people who were mediocre all season making it all the way ti the podium and even winning it? This season my two favorites were Turtle and Astronaut. Once Astronaut was sent home I knew this season was messed up. I'm not gonna say it's rigged cuz that's kinda dumb but all I'm saying is that the studio audiences are the dumbest people I've ever seen. Don't know if the vote counts are equal or if the judges' votes are weighed more, but come on yall. Night Angel? Over the immense talent we've had this season? Kitty? Astronaut? Turtle? That should have been the top 3, finishing in that order. I'll for sure be watching next season but I'm not gonna get my hopes up that my favorite will win it, and will expect the next rapper/dancer to win it, as that's the next thing that'll happen. Also the people saying "stop being mean" yall need to get over yourselves. Do people take it too far and are a little too invested in the show? Sure. At the same time, this is a forum where we can all express our thoughts and feelings about the show. Not all of the comments are going to be "so and so was so good!" or "hope so and so moves on and wins it!" like that's not how this works. People will be happy, people will be upset, and both should be able to express themselves. See yall next season…
pigseatfigs 2 yr. ago Can you imagine the blowback if your top three (Kitty, Astro and Turtle) had made it??? Oh the rage! It's okay that three years in a row no "whites" have been represented, but its not pc to point that out is it? KITTY is a better performer/singer than NA. Ok. Hit me with the down votes.
MeowGirly 2 yr. ago I’m not a fan of any of them. But he was leaps and bounds above both of them. I personally think she should have been eliminated over kitty who was stellar
Danger_Dave_ 2 yr. ago I don't see where she stepped out. She stuck with the same type of songs throughout the whole season other than 1 or 2 songs. Turtle had just as much variation as she did, except he didn't butcher songs with terrible vibrato. And she had 0 stage presence. Even Kitty was better than NA.

This is a continuation of a discussion on an unrelated thread....City Winery DC. Jackie didn't get "voted off" due to any "scheduling conflicts", she got voted off because her performances didn't garner the needed votes to move on. Nothing would have been better for Jackie's Career at that point than to stay on that show longer or even win. She lost legitimately, and OTTs need to learn to accept that gracefully instead of trying to invent other underlying reasons to help them rationalize why she lost when she did. lol ...I guarantee Jackie wanted to win that in a bad way, and the show doesn't "fix" results...or at least there has been zero evidence that they have ever done that. I love Jackie and her voice, but she isn't very popular or even known today by the vast majority of Americans.... not at all surprising when she loses to more popular and well known personalities.Yes, Kitty lost to more popular and well known celebrities, but she won over others such as Lil Wayne, Chaka Khan, Bella Thorne, Jo Jo Siwa and Brett Michaels, all mainstream singers better known than Jackie. In fact who wasn't better known? That had nothing to do with her being voted off, because her identity was hidden from the voting audience and the panel of judges. She was just Kitty, an anonymous celebrity like every other contestant. But, the producers might have determined that Jackie was not as popular and known well enough to advance to the finals. People expect the finalists to be highly recognizable as were Jessie McCartney, Bow Wow and Kandi Burruss. That's a primary consideration for maintaining high ratings. The fact remains that according to the views and likes on her performances, Kitty was the most popular contestant of the season with the TV/YouTube audience. The evidence was there from week to week by the comparative number of views and Likes on YouTube, and finally by the fact that the video of her DW performance with over 1.3M views (twice the views of the winner's most popular performance) was taken down before the finale aired. It's no mystery that the producers underestimated Kitty's appeal to the public and tried to hide it. These "reality" shows are not what they seem. Producers DO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE OUTCOMES, because it's in their interest to give the audience what they want. But what the TV audience wanted in season 2 was not necessarily the so-called "reality given them. Excerpt from ENTERTAINMENT..."Insider reveals the truth about TV talent shows" The big question: It’s the thing we’ve all wondered at some stage, are the results rigged? Apparently not. “The reason for that is simple: We don’t want to get sued. When tallying the votes before a results show, a team of lawyers review the stats with a fine-tooth comb, making darn sure that each vote is recorded exactly the way it was cast.” But that’s not to say that the producers/editors don’t have a hand in who makes it to the final few rounds. They basically tell the viewers who they should like through “emotional manipulation” by airing a touching segment about a particular contestant’s background. “Not shockingly, the voting public often runs with who they’ve been told is best,” said Iannone. "https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/reality-tv/insider-reveals-the-truth-about-tv-talent-shows/news-story/d0ee846335d04346b6581a5167b2c2bd (Note: Masked Singer is not open to a public vote, rather it is given to a preselected studio audience, and the panel of judges has 50% of the vote.) It's naive to suppose they are not influenced by the producers when necessary to determine who advances and who doesn't for whatever reason it is in their interest. Conclusion: Jackie was either eliminated in the quarter-finals because she had a concert scheduling conflict as explained earlier, she was not popular enough to be advanced to the finals (possibly both), or she simply didn't perform well enough. The latter would naturally be the accepted assumption.

If the voting on these shows is being rigged in some way, it would be a huge scandal and the press would run with it, trust me. I for one believe that 99% of the time, the simplest answer is the truth, and the truth is that Jackie goes as far as her performances take her in these competitions. People vote for who they like, and for the performances they enjoyed most...it's very subjective. You and I may love Jackie performing Ave Maria best, but far more people nationwide may prefer a rap performance.

Apparently it wasn't that simple. Jackie responds to a lot of questions about her experience on Masked Singer among other enlightening topics in this Live Streaming upload during quarantine...."There's a bunch of reasons for why I got voted off the show..."
