I noticed that some posters through the years have objected to Mike Evancho believing that all the recordings were taking away from Jackie's remuneration instead of helping to promote her. However, I suspect that Mike's views have changed especially considering the way things work these days. In addition, although I do think that Jackie's voice is more suitable for singing arias and songs like them, her career would probably die along with her many aged fans by staying with the old formula.

This would be expected of Jackie, in my opinion. Stunning. Or this

Well, how about these outfits? The point is that Jackie has not gone down the flamboyant path of dress and probably will not.

I have a granddaughter a few months younger than Jackie and she often dresses what many from our generation would view as provocatively. My wife and daughter tell me it is my granddaughter's way to garner attention from her group of friends, other women, catch the eye of young men and all part of being a college student. Jackie is an attractive, smart and talented young woman that wants to be noticed for all of those things. This "selfie" generation wants to be noticed, wants attention and wants people to talk about them, and from this thread, I'd say it's working. Will Jackie go all "Mylie Cyrus" on us? I hope not, but I expect her wardrobe to continue to push some bounds, at least for us gray hairs, and attract attention.
To date, including the faux "shirtless" pantsuit from this appearance, Jackie's choices are pretty tame compared to some of the outfits my granddaughter has worn and posted on Instagram. Relax, sit back and enjoy the music.

Considering the large portion of the 130 or so attendees who seem to have recorded parts of the performance, the fact that no one has apparently posted anything anywhere complaining about all of the pictures being taken and videos being recorded indicates that doing so is not really a problem. Totally agree. For years Team E's thoughts toward pics and vids at concerts were a direct reduction in cd sales. Social media was/is the enemy with all the hate that goes on. Lisa believed that turtles had a great idea. Come out of your shell to perform then quickly go back in for protection. Some time recently an increase in YT and IG has put JE 'out there'. Maybe it was JE turning 18 or hiring others that last name didn't start with an E. Or she may have finally come to that realization that cc cd's do not sale like pop or rap. Let's try something new. I'm all for it. Since I do not follow any other singer, I do not know how others do the no pic vs load up YT. I do know there are a bunch of really interesting other stuff on YT> A guy building a house in Idaho, a guy cutting logs in his backyard, a girl grabbing catfish with her hands wearing a bikini. And of course, Sofie and Darcy. For more information on the girl in a bikini PM me. She also hunts big game. I don't want any of the others to think you are weird. I for one find it difficult to accept this opinion as it lacks an understanding of the influences at play while Jackie was a child/pre-adult teen. Jackie's parents, who were without a child prodigy raising handbook , were obliged to protect their daughter and afford her a childhood as much as possible. The parents also were obligated to consider impacts upon Jackie's siblings. Simply stated it was a balancing act between financial success and family life success. There is also the elephant in hiding, Sony Music had significant influence in Jackie's career and how it would be made available to the public as revealed in the following excerpt.
"Further, unless Label otherwise expressly consents in writing, Artist will ensure that the Artist does not record Performances in fulfillment of the Recording Commitment that are: (1) not recorded in a recording studio (i.e., “In Concert” or “Live” performances); (2) instrumental Performances; (3) solely speech or spoken word; (4) not in the English language; (5) remixed or re-edited or mixes (e.g., extended mixes of an Album Master) or otherwise altered versions of Performances previously recorded; (6) based on an overall theme (e.g., a Christmas Album); or, (7) Performances of more than one Composition (e.g., a medley)."
I stand to be corrected but I believe that Jackie/parents while with Sony, entered into a 360 contract.
"In the music industry, 360 deals, are contracts that allow a record label to receive a percentage of the earnings from all of a band's activities instead of just from record sales or money-making activities that the record label had a hand in. Under 360 deals, which are also called "multiple rights deals," record labels may get a percentage of revenue that may have been previously off limits to them, such as:
Digital sales Tours, concerts, and live performance revenue Merchandise sales Endorsement deals Appearances in movies and television shows Songwriting, lyric display and publishing revenue Ringtone sales"
The bottom line here is that Jackie/parents did not have the complete control over Jackie's career and the freedom to do things that would have benefited Jackie at the expense of other considerations. There were family consideration and contractual consideration that influenced and shaped Jackie's development. Also "hindsight" is 20/20 and easily seen by those that have no stake in the game.

A lot of posts are appearing about Jackie's new attire and how much flesh, if any, should be revealed etc., for her to shake off the pre-adult life. The clothing that she wears is not so important as the way she presents herself in them. I find that her frequent wearing of jeans with holes/rips tend to give her a more juvenile appearance and may be seen to attract a young set of teens. However, that clothing would not fly in a cabaret setting. She has reached a point in her career where her demeanor needs to better match her venue and audience. A cabaret/club setting is not for pre-adult teens, so the dress and demeanor should match the surrounding. If she develops a repertoire that is appealing to a younger crowd and is likely to attract an audience that is best accommodated in an arena setting for perhaps 5000 people, then maybe her attire should relate to the audience and so should her demeanor. Her demeanor even in such a large setting should still project her being adult and not a teen.

Just my nickels worth because Canada retired the penny. So, when all the Canadian pennies are out of circulation, what does one pay in cash if the bill is $20.01 or $20.02 or $20.03 or $20.04?

Simple --- it is rounded up or down to the nearest nickel ($0.05). In the case of gas, for example, which is sold for dollars and cents per unit (gallon or litre) then the total bill is the amount to be rounded up or down according to the last cent figure.

Jackie is also showing through her clothing and her banter with the audience that she is no longer going just for the 55+ crowd. She seems to be communicating quite well with the younger crowd these days.

The worst moment of my evening at Feinstein’s 54 was during the beginning when I realized I forgot to bring my rogue drummer tranquilizer gun which would have prevented the rampaging beast from injuring many songs and totally crushing a few.
While commenting further would be like responding to the question, “Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show?” But it would take more than a heavy handed drummer to spoil this Jackie show.
As can be seen from the videos posted by others, Jackie sang with conviction and purpose as if making the statement, “Here I stand. Get used to it”
This is especially true in the closing song, “Somebody to Love” by Queen. Here Jackie edits down the original lyrics to render as personal a statement as I have ever heard from her, which she delivers with a belting voice that seems to have opened up deep reserves of energy and drive.
(Google “somebody to love queen lyrics” for the full text.) (Jackie added one line, “I have tried…” whose last three words I could not make out.)
Somebody to Love (Jackie version) … Ooh, each morning I get up I die a little Can barely stand on my feet … Lord, what you're doing to me … I have tried to get out of [?] [?] [?] But I just can't get no relief, Lord! Somebody ooh somebody Can anybody find me somebody to love? I work hard every day… … I try and I try and I try But everybody wants to put me down They say I'm going crazy They say I got a lot of water in my brain Ah, got no common sense I got nobody left to believe… … Can anybody find me somebody to love? … Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love

Hey Julia!
"e·mo·tion [əˈmōSH(ə)n] NOUN
a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others. "she was attempting to control her emotions" · [more] synonyms: feeling · sentiment · sensation · reaction · response · passion · intensity · warmth · ardor · fervor · vehemence · fire · fieriness · excitement · spirit · soul"
When Jackie first let us know that Broadway was on her horizon's, I thought "But she's got no "fire, intensity, passion", which is needed on Broadway! A beautiful voice is not sufficient to excel on the Broadway stage!
Jackie needed to become more animated, to impart her Intensity, Excitement, Fire, Sensuality to the audience! And, that seems to be what Will N. is attempting to impart. This song shows us a Jackie we have never seen before! Park and Bark - Goodbye!!
Absolutely. We are watching the first effects of Will N.'s tutelage and I expect by the end of the year we will see the polished mature performer. But you can imagine how tough it must be to learn to do that right in amongst the audience? Cabaret is not for the faint of heart. On a real stage, there's a distance. In cabaret, particularly if you're moving among the tables, you can see your audience warts and all. It's now been many years, almost a half-century, but I very well recall that sort of difference between my high school's stage and the community theater in an old converted roller rink, both with a conventional proscenium arch; and the brief experience afterward with a much smaller and intimate professional theater-in-the-round where you were essentially acting right in the midst of the audience!

Perhaps I might be over simplifying things but here goes. Jackie has experience performing before large audiences --- Memorial Day, president inauguration, St Petersburg Square and Taiwan for examples. She has performed before numerous concert audiences of greater than 500. The point here is that in all she has done to date she has only needed to add emotion to her songs in order to better communicate/relate with the audience. The nightclub venue adds a new element and that is working in close proximity to those she entertains.
In her movie exposure with Robert Redford, she demonstrated that she might have the ability to actually act. That is a very positive thing but for movie industry they can do retakes to correct imperfections.
Broadway is an entirely different animal as it is a combination of singing and acting, something like opera and like opera this is done live without any retakes --- no safety net here. You live with all the mistakes you make both there on stage and in the newspaper reviews afterwards.
We need to ask ourselves does Jackie need instruction, courage, practice, exposure to become successful in this quite different arena? I believe we all are saying something all this line and can agree that she is simply not ready YET. But the potential for success is there and will require WORK by her and from others able to help her achieve this goal.
