... Based on the warm response of the audience, I would say that Evancho’s debut at the Carlyle was a victory for her as well ... And that's what counts.

The other thing which counts is how many tickets were sold. We have heard nothing about that although since none of the reviewers commented it probably was good.

I have been to three Jackie concerts and I will see her a fourth time June 7. I have never seen or heard these problems the Carlyle reviewers whine about. I have never had a problem understanding Jackie either live or on her recordings. I have never noticed breaths in the wrong places or breaths that interrupt the flow of the song. I don't really know what they mean by "phrasing" but I have never noticed a lack of depth in her singing. She has always brought the emotion and feeling to my heart. As for connecting with the audience when Jackie is on stage you can't take your eyes off of her. She is the whole world until the last note is played and she leaves the stage.
You either get Jackie or you don't. At her best she is the best.

I am slightly jealous although i have managed to go to 4 of her venues this year so far.

It was stated in some of the reviews that Jackie does not have the experience to sing songs about some topics. Some commenters here stated that she does not need that experience. I agree with that, although the experience can help.
Here are two comments on YouTube to compositions by Emily Bear where the commenters are amazed that Emily is able to set the mood without the appropriate experience. They are by commenters who do have the experience. I have not seen similar comments, although they might be out there, about Jackie.
