Am I the only one who liked the headset microphone Jackie has used in the past? I think that the hand mic she is using is hiding the bottom half of her beautiful face. Watch Hymn of the Worlds.
I am only curious...
It also let her use her arms for more expression

I'm curious too. When she was younger she did use the headset and then she stopped. She used the headset for the hymn, but when she sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" she used the hand mic. Maybe the headsets hurt her or are distracting. Does anyone have the answer?

I believe Lisa decided that the hand held microphone had better sound because she could move it around.

I believe Lisa decided that the hand held microphone had better sound because she could move it around. Thanks Rick. You're probably right. As I recall that's probably why she turns her head at times trying to reflect the sound.

I imagine Jackie, at this point, knows more about how to use a microphone than any of us do.

As Jackie's voice has grown more powerful, her high notes have become disproportionately more powerful than her low notes, This is a natural physiological phenomenon as well as a law of physics. Jackie turns her head or moves the microphone away on these notes. Can't do that with a headset. She is sometimes very subtle with it like the high note in the C4 performance of CYFTLT, where she barely moves the mike but turns her head. If she doesn't do this she will clip out the amp. Happens with all performers, more so Opera singers due to the projection technique they use.

I always thought it was interesting how she would turn her head and pull the mic away to the side at the same time. I know nothing about the mechanics of singing, but thought maybe combining the two movements allowed her more precision. But now she mostly pulls the mic forward, away from her, which is what we see most often with singers. Probably just a quirk, like the grabbing the dress thing. I used to superstitiously believe that if Jackie stopped grabbing her dress, she would not sound as good. No one needs to punch holes in my theories; they come with holes included.

She appears to be a fan of Sennheiser. She uses Sennheiser headphones and a Sennheiser wireless mic. Which is OK by me as I own HD650 headphones. Sennheiser is great. I have the Sennheiser BTD 500 as link between my computer and my hearing aids. Bluetooth technology works great!
