The only other person I can think of who could match him is Maria Carey in her youth. She also had four octaves PLUS a 5th(called the Whistle octave). "Vocal gymnastics"??Yeah listen to this; Unfortunately, according to many "experts", Maria has noticeably damaged her voice by oversinging, overwork, interviews when voice rest was needed, booze and possibly drugs, using excessive verbal gymnastics including the whistle register with improper techniques, etc. Apparently, she now lip syncs many of her performances. Maria certainly was spectacular when young and has been a huge influence on young singers who mistakenly try to emulate her, especially on the singing talent shows. Her mother Linda had been an opera singer for a while. Whitney Houston also had noticeably damaged her voice for many of the same reasons. I guess it doesn't matter if you make enough money.

My personal non-Jackie favorite I think she blew every circuit in the mother board with that last note!!!! Unbelievable!!! When was that recorded and how old was she? Is that her father on keyboards? I wonder if Mariah has heard it and if so did she reach out to this incredible young singer. I'm gobsmacked. I prefer this version.

Is she as good live? B4 Jackie, I probably wouldn't have noticed or cared. This young lady obviously has a huge amount of talent.

In spite of that, many notes are flat and kind of make me cringe. B4 Jackie, I probably wouldn't have noticed or cared. I don't want to denigrate this very young lady. She obviously has a huge amount of talent and can learn to adjust pitch better. Jackie's talent and spectacular pitch control make pitch flaws in other singers very obvious even to amateurs like myself. A downside for me of being a Jackie fan is that most other singers pale in comparison and are now harder to listen to. I couldn't agree more. Once upon a time i followed a few singers that i thought were good. Cher, Celine, Taylor, Allison Iraheta, Rheba and after hearing Jackie, they all paled in comparison. I guess you would have to say that Jackie ruined me for appreciating second rate music

I prefer this version. [iframe title="YouTube video player" width="560" height="349" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/AIo0M3q9dKc?wmode=transparent&start=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"][/iframe] Oh, I agree, hence my "non-Jackie" disclaimer. Hard to put anyone up against Jackie.

As spectacular as some of the other renditions are, if I was to select my ten favourite O Holy Nights probably seven or eight of them would be Jackie's from the top down.

Wow, how often does anyone get their wish on a "Tunes I'd like Jackie to Do" Thread? Like Never? The words are different, but Attesa and this are both Mascagni. Well known by anyone who has watched wine and food commercials. Sorry if I'm being Capt. Obvious. I also like the following "Sancta Maria" I don't believe either of the above are well known in the USA. I'd like Jackie to introduce them.

Sissel has an even more beautiful voice than Sarah Brightman has. Even though she is a Soprano, people can actually understand her diction as well.

Chi il bel sogno di Doretta is the other Puccini aria in A Room With a View. Spoiler alert: if there is anyone hasn't seen the movie, you shouldn't watch this, it's supposed to be a surprise. There are plenty of other examples of it on YouTube, including Brightman's. Not as well known as OMBC, and maybe not quite as tuneful, but it might ring a bell with fans of the movie. Kiri te Kanawa sings it here.

As I was watching it I completely forgot about the song. Then suddenly it ended.

I caught most of Powder on TV yesterday. I can never forget the music now because Sarah Brightman sang it so beautifully. The end of the movie is touching everytime because it feels like Sarah is right there singing No One Like You even though its all instrumental.
I am sure Jackie can do this at least just as beautifully.

The lady singing at the beginning is Amelia Brightman (also known as Violet), Sarah's youngest sister (b. 1979 and 19 years younger). She has a strong resemblance to and sounds a lot like Sarah. She often toured with Sarah and did backup work. She also sang a lot with Gregorian.

I saw this concert when Sarah was in Moline. She had me wrapped around her pinky in those days (2004) in that I was watching all things regarding Sarah. I remember much talk about Sarah and Amelia possibly performing together but nothing happened to the extent I had hoped. The concert is one I will never forget. I have to say, Jackie came along at a very good time IMO
