Just wanted to make everyone aware that under Forum Information & Statistics, you can see all of the posts that have occurred since your last visit by clicking Recent Posts. This prevents having to track down all the new posts by looking for the New Posts icon on the threads.

There is a problem with my Proboards keeping track of the posts read and unread. Before retiring last night, I cleared all of the New Posts off the Boards on the home page. This morning, after going through the Recent Posts, the following Boards had a New Posts icon: Technical Issues, Jackie News, Social Media, Social Media Picture, Jackie's Music, General Discussion About Jackie, Jackie Videos/Pre-AGT and Subjects Of Interest To Forum Members. I verified that there was indeed a new post to each of these Boards. None of these Board folders had a New Posts icon on the Thread folders. After Refreshing the Home page, all of the above Board folders were back to normal. If I understand this correctly, others are seeing the New Posts icon on both the Board and Thread folders representing posts they have not read. Is there a setting somewhere in Profile or elsewhere that needs to be turned on? Is there some kind of connection between using the Recent Posts method of reading new posts and the New Posts icon method that could be causing this? Not sure where else to go with this. Edit: Also, even though I posted this in the Technical Issues Board, Technical Issues does not have a New Posts icon. I don't think the software puts the New Posts icon on Boards and Threads that I have posted to. I got a new post icon for this post of yours.

The way proboards has always functioned for me, the new post icon only appears for one thread. So if there are, say, 3 threads with new posts in the concerts category, if I click on just one of them, the latest, the new posts icon disappears on the main page. I'm not notified about the other two threads with new posts. IDK if this is always the way it behaves.
Is this clear as mud? LOL.

I got a new post icon for this post of yours. Did you get the New Posts icon on the Board Technical Issues AND the Thread Recent Posts? I suppose so, but when I click on the marked category in "Home", over in the right-hand column where your name is, it goes directly to your post, and both markers go away at that moment. If I go to Board Technical Issues it shows me new markers on other threads, but even if I don't read them, the new marker for the board in "Home" is gone.

I think this is what I was trying to say in my "clear as mud" post above. The new post icon goes away as soon as you look at any thread in a given sub-forum. There could be new posts on several threads, but you wouldn't know it any more.

I'm trying to get into the habit of backing out of a "new" post by clicking on the next category up in the line at top of page between the blue lines. (clear as mud? )

So on this page, you'd click on "technical issues" rather than "home" when you finished reading the latest posts.

It's a little confusing because we're using more levels than the old PB did. I was a little confused about what was a thread and what was a board, for awhile. Boards can have another layer of boards in them, rather than just threads. I'm getting used to it.
