Jackie's first visit to China was at age 17 as ambassador for the epic production of "Troy", an international horse show extravaganza. The show was held at Beijing's National Stadium in June of 2017. Excerpts from a write-up on the event:
"After three years of preparation, "Troy" features 72 world famous horses. It inserts animal performances into the story of the famous Greek mythology titled "The Trojan War"....We use horses to tell the mythology. That means they are our actors," director Liu Xiao told a local Chinese media outlet....Actors of the horse show are reported to came from 12 different countries and have passed the auditions which spanned for six months. The costumes were designed by the Italian fashion designer Simona Morresi, which are also base from ancient clothing of Greek people."
By the way, Jackie is a horse lover and at home rides in English style, or rather did at that time anyway.
The song, "Set Me Free" was written for Jackie to perform for the event as it's theme.
