ocnjdaily.com/market-madness-kicks-off-season/JACKIE EVANCHO AND KATHERINE JENKINS TO PERFORM WITH POPS THIS SUMMER Two popular performers will return this summer to perform with the Ocean City Pops. Jackie Evancho will participate in the Night in Venice boat parade on July 23, then return the following night as the featured guest of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra on July 24. Best-selling classical artist Katherine Jenkins joins the Pops on August 21. Since she first dazzled television audiences at the age of 10 as a runner-up on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” Evancho has released a string of platinum and gold albums with sales of over 3 million. Along the way, she made history: the youngest solo platinum artist, youngest Top 5 debut artist ever in the U.K., the youngest person to give solo concert at Lincoln Center, among many other accolades. All seven of Jackie’s albums have hit No. 1 on the Billboard Classical chart. Welsh superstar Katherine Jenkins was crowned last year as “The Biggest Selling Classical Artist of the Century” by Classic FM. She cemented that title with her 14th No. 1 album on the classical charts. Both Evancho and Jenkins were hits in previous shows with the Ocean City Pops. Tickets for both shows will go on sale on Thursday, March 10. Both shows will be included in the season-ticket package for the Pops, which is on sale now for $375. Visit oceancityvacation.com/boxoffice or call 609-399-6111.

Is that part of the current tour or already part of the new one?
Incidentally:Katherine Jenkins has been revealed as the classical artist who's sold the most albums this century so far, at over 2.6 million. Katherine Jenkins is the best-selling classic artist in the United Kingdom, not in the world. In the USA she hardly sells albums, not a single one was number one in the classical charts.

We knew this was coming when we saw that contract Jackie had with the city a couple of weeks ago.

Is that part of the current tour or already part of the new one? Historically, we don't always know. It's happened in the past that something is advertised by a venue as old tour, but turns out to be new tour. I'm guessing it could well be new tour. But even if not, the one in Palm Desert reportedly had some songs she hasn't done live before. And the location is nice.

It is a performance as a guest of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra. Jackie could use other songs that fit better with an orchestra. That would make sense to me.

Ok, given the interview posted in the other thread (some previews of the new album to be performed in Florida, album due to be released in June), it seems very likely there will be effectively part of the new tour, although as always with some old favorites still present. Yay!

Looks like brisk ticket sales! I'd say 70 to 75% sold!

Are all those seats at the bottom - right above and below the word SOLARIUM, not real seats? Because if they are, that would take the percentage waaaay down from 70-75%.

The seating chart image in my post is the actual seating chart of the Ocean City Music Pier taken from the tix.com website!! Here's another image of the seating chart:
Every dot in my image is a real seat!

So if you include all the rear seating...sold seats are less than 50%

Being a tourist destination, there can be a lot of sales (assuming there's something left) in the last week or two. I plan ahead as soon as something is announced, to get a better seat; but most people don't; at a destination like that, they just go if they think it's entertainment that most of their group will like and none will strongly dislike.

Any comments about Jackie's live performance of Both Sides Now? My observation is that, disregarding the poor quality video, it is almost indistinguishable from her recording, although not as intimate an interpretation. She definitely has it down pat. I expect she will perform it at the Ocean City Music Pier next month. So, will she be just singing a couple of songs with the Ocean City Pops, or will the whole show be with Jackie?
