A few words of the lyrics to I'm Not That Girl were not clear to me, which isn't unusual with some songs written poetically with words not anticipated or ambiguous, especially in the low register. Once read, the lines make sense when listening. I thought others might appreciate the lyrics as well. One of my favorite songs on the album, particularly because Jackie treats it as a sweet little ballad -a soft, lyrical and gentle rendition.
Hands touch, eyes meet Sudden silence, sudden heat Hearts leap in a giddy world He could be that boy but I'm not that girl
Don't dream too far Don't lose sight of who you are Don't remember that rush of joy He could be that boy, but I'm not that girl
Every so often we long to steal To the land of what might have been But that doesn't soften the ache we feel Reality sets back in
Blythe smile, lithe limb She who's winsome, she wins him Gold hair with a gentle curl That's the girl he chose And heaven knows I'm not that girl
Don't wish, don't start Wishing only wounds the heart I wasn't born for the rose and pearl There's a girl I know He loves her so, I'm not that girl

"I'm excited for people to see this video because I want to show everyone that being a strong, independent woman comes in all shapes and sizes....It doesn't mean we need to conform to the social media standard of beauty and strength to feel loved and appreciated by others. I've only recently discovered this myself after years of trying to be who people expected me to be and I look forward to continuing down this path of growth and independence. Hope you enjoy!" -Jackie Evancho
