www.carsonkitchen.com/For those who like a better grade of food but not at the strip high-end pricing.
"Opening in 2014, Carson Kitchen was the creation of Las Vegas' hometown favorite Chef Kerry Simon and restaurateur Cory Harwell. The plan, to develop the first urban casual eatery, inside the re-purposed mid-century John E. Carson Hotel - a skeleton of Downtown Las Vegas' yesteryears, now home to its eclectic mix of tenants including a sushi bar, tattoo parlor, pilates studio, creative agencies, donut & coffee bar and Chef Simon's playful interpretations on American comfort food."

For those who would like to sample what the strip has to offer may I suggest:

bellagio.mgmresorts.com/en/restaurants/le-cirque.htmlYou want to do the Pre-Theater Menu served 5 to 5:45 PM. If you always wanted to know what a Michelin star restaurant is like with truly outstanding gourmet food, this is a rare situation to do it at prix fix of $72. That may seem like a lot for a 3 course meal, but the gourmet food is incredible. I went there with my daughter and it was the best gourmet food we ever had. Sat next to the table used by George Clooney, et al while they filmed the Ocean series of films at the Bellagio.
"The name is legendary. The experience unforgettable. Immerse yourself in the brilliant colors of this lakeside destination and prepare for a meal as bold and transcendent as your surroundings. Le Cirque's opulent dining room, designed by Adam D. Tihany, exudes celebration, setting the stage for an inimitable French menu that has drawn raves and accolades—including a perennial AAA Five Diamond Award rating and Forbes Travel Guide 5 Star Rating —since the restaurant’s creation by Sirio Maccioni . A coveted wine list and attentive service complete an evening at Le Cirque—one that will remain in your memory for years to come."

www.caesars.com/harrahs-las-vegas/restaurants/flavors-the-buffet#.XMSnzWhKiUkThis is part of the Caesar Entertainment block of casino resorts that are mostly mid-strip and that include Harrah's, Caesar's Palace, Bally's, The Linq, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Rio (only one off-strip) and Flamingo. Harrah's is across from the Mirage. Make sure to get the free Caesar Rewards card which gets you discounts.
"Flavors, the Buffet at Harrah’s Las Vegas is a fun place to satisfy your appetite. This Vegas buffet features live cooking stations, freshly prepared seafood and all-you-can-eat crab legs. Dig in to fresh cut prime rib with an array of delectable side dishes, traditional comfort foods and mouth-watering desserts."

If looking to do other things while in Vegas, may I suggest considering some of the following (not all may be available that weekend - need to check schedules):
(1)
terryfator.com/I have been to this show twice and it was great entertainment. Terry is the number 1 earning AGT alum having now received two $100 million contracts which includes a theater named after him in the Mirage.

www.vtheshow.com/This is done like an old time variety show in a small theater setting. The show was great. I was able to get center of center row tickets at a discount by shopping around with the ticket brokers and checking the theater box office.
"As V - The Ultimate Variety Show premiered at the Venetian Resort & Casino in 2001, creator David Saxe knew it would be an instant hit!
The long-time Las Vegas producer eventually realized his large-scale stage production deserved its own state-of-the-art space and began drawing up plans to build Ovation Theater (later named V Theater) which opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2004.
The moment the curtain went up, word got out. Top performers from around the world flocked to Vegas hoping Saxe would choose them to be part of his award-winning show.Today, a dozen rotating specialty acts make up V - The Ultimate Variety Show giving audiences a different performance each night! Fortunately, the one thing that hasn’t changed is show’s host - the “World’s Fastest Juggler” Wally Eastwood whose charm, sharp wit and ability to connect with the crowd have made him a fan favorite for almost two decades running."

www.pennandteller.com/wordpress/I am a fan of magic and the Penn & Teller show was fun. They came out after the show for selfies. There are cheaper magic shows in Vegas such as the Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Harrah's or another AGT alum's show The Piff the Magic Dragon Show at The Flamingo or the AGT winning alum's show Mat Franco: Magic Reinvented Nightly at The Linq, but I always liked Penn & Teller.
"For over 40 years Penn & Teller have defied labels —and at times physics and good taste– by redefining the genre of magic and inventing their own very distinct niche in comedy. With sold out runs on Broadway, world tours, Emmy-winning TV specials, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and hundreds of outrageous appearances on everything from Fallon to Friends, The Simpsons to Colbert, Modern Family to Top Chef, comedy’s most enduring team show no signs of slowing down.
With an amazing eight wins, including 2015, as “Las Vegas Magicians of the Year,” their 15-year run at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino makes them the longest running and one of the most-beloved headline acts in Las Vegas history, outselling every other resident magician on The Strip."

vegasexperience.com/A must go if you are in downtown Vegas. They have free concerts and tons of other things to do including the Zoomline experience of sliding along a zip line for 5 blocks while 11 stories above the ground. Been there several times.
