Yellowstone, I look forward to seeing that. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your country, during a one month tour of Europe by train, in 1984. Have friends in Germany. Spent 3 days viewing the alps, seeing historic sites, conversing with English speaking locals. Spent two days in Salzburg (saw Mozarts home), but didn't have an opportunity to visit Vienna, unfortunately. Likely won't have an opportunity to return. It's an extraordinarily beautiful country with so much intriguing history. Happy Holidays.

You took my humor very well E. Good for you and thanks for the interesting links.
There was a movie here about the "Jazz Kids" some years ago. I didn't see it. Perhaps I can find it on Netflix. I hadn't realized the movement was more or less active throughout the war. Most surprising to me. Perhaps the youth preferred the decadence of the Wiemar Republic.
More interesting to me was the Fuhrer's acceptance of some Disney offerings of those days. They were well made and created the genre of lavish feature length animated movies. (Jackie should voice a singing Disney style princess or other female lead character in my estimation.) Of course the author/commentator is treading dangerous waters by bringing up anything that even in the remotest way humanizes A.H. He ably bypasses that danger by assuring us that A.H. only liked them do to his warped psychology.
Frankly E, I have recently developed a respect for the way he reversed Wiemar's runaway inflation by getting his adopted country off the Red Shield fiat system, showing the world what legitimate money and the repudiation of onerous false debt can do for an intelligent and industrious people. Here, we are solidly enmeshed in that same fiat. We have been since 1913. We war or threaten war with anyone who shows signs of resisting the system.
A.Lincoln issued gold backed Greenbacks. They were recalled by his successor. J.F.Kennedy issued Silver Certificates. They were removed from circulation by his successor. What ever happened to those guys?
Ever figure out who won the war?

He destroyed everything...the money was so legitimate that my father could not buy anything in Belgium when he rode with his friends by bike to Spa Francorchamps to watch the racing cars. With all the debt...starting war was kind of logical consequence He lacked any ounce of empathy...millions ans millions of people killed.Holocaust..but it's correct...he had his "friends" in the USA...e.g. some parts of the US Olympic Comitee... Dark ironic story..Jessie Owens only got his 4th gold medal because of AH. The racist US Olympic Comitee at that time did not want that afro-americans ran in 4/100 relay - but Hitler's demanded that no jewish people would run...so the two jewish athletes did not run...and Jessie Owens and ? ran. This woman is for many today kind of germanys role model

The runaway inflation in Germany was over before 1925. That was almost a decade before Hitler assumed power.

Yes the Hyperinflation was 1923, the following years after this was solved, Germany kind of flourished, but then in 1928 Black Friday and Germany after USA the country with the most damaging consequences. Many people lost their job and german politicians at that time...did the most stupid thing...instead of investing the tried to cut everything and rose taxes...so suddenly an even more vicious circle...people had less money, buy less, companies sell less, more people without work....so in 1932 the NSDAP election results exploded... Middle class who lost after 1923 the second time everything voted for what they thought at that time a "Heilsbringer" and the workers voted KPD
so the Weimar Republic
but to be correct it didnot end...the constitution was so bad in it's structure that/no security and unlike 1923...
But Hitler's sucessfull economic policy is a myth...before he came to power german politicians had realized the problem and started with a kind of keynesian economic policy so it got better...
but Hitler was no Keynesian at all...like many people think today...all the Autobahns ec. - its a myth.this infrastructure investment had not much impact..everything from the start was concentrated on military sector, (war was the goal) - not the private sector.."Kanonen statt Butter" (Canons instead of butter) ---normal people had less...they drank not coffee but a cheap replacement (Muckefuck) ...everything was paid by debt..so in 1938 Germany was bankrupt
As I wrote - my father told me...coming to Belgium was no fun at that time..."the poor germans are coming"

Eulenspiegel and Ursus. Thanks to both of you for your responses. Many of your points are new to my understanding and quite interesting. Today is Saturday, my running errands/paying bills day. I look forward to continuing my history lesson over the weekend.

Maybe y'all can include Admin in you PM's.

I find it interesting. Turns out he knows a little more about his country's history than I do. I can let it go.

No problem...but to make it clear...it was not political...there simply should be no political discussion/diversities about views on Hitler/NS - so resist the beginnings...my only goal was to clear up the myth/wrongs Btw. where I grew up - people of village got evacuated . ..2 month later Battle of the Bulge...one US Soldier was later awarded Medal of Honor there... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_J._Dalessandroin a village on the belgium side 10 km from there 3-5? Medal of Honors - I think in this region in one month 15-20 Medals of Honors

There is nothing wrong with this post. Agog broke no rule. This is the Politics rule: 3) The members have voted No Politics therefore politics will not be allowed anywhere on our forum at the discretion of the admins. Not everyone has the same definition of politics. We are talking about current politics, not politics from 50 years ago. Agog talked about something that happened in Germany 80 years ago. It has no bearing on the United States on 12-16-18. It is history. We don't allow current politics because it is too charged for argument and bad feelings. As I told Agog, if you want to talk about the Civil War or Vietnam I have no objection. Just don't talk about the border wall or Obamacare. That is current and I will delete you.
