Wow! That was a fascinating video, Schrodinger! A few years ago a friend and his son went to Burning Man and he said it was one of the most amazing weeks he had ever experienced in his life -- totally immersive and intense.
I read in today's news that David Bowie's ashes (some of them) were scattered at Burning Man, but then later I read a denial of that, his family or a spokesman posted a rebuttal and said that this was not true at all, and that if anything, he would have wanted the ashes spread at Skegness Butlins. Whatever....

This is why I named the thread the way I did. I wanted things here to be helpful, as well as entertaining. When I was a fairly new fan and started reading comments from fans, I was struck by how many seemed to be tough guys, especially military veterans. I remember a tweet from a gang counselor and one of my favorite YouTube quotes is "I'm a big angry martial artist, but I tear up every time this child opens her mouth" . After reading more fans' discussions and meeting some in person, I learned that a lot of us have suffered loss, of a spouse, a sibling, even a child. A lot of times we have to harden ourselves, just so we can function. Jackie's music, I think, gives us a place where we can be with our emotions again. Jackie and her family are known to be altruistic people. So, why not help each other. Been thinking on what Mike said here about Jackie's music affecting our emotions. I think he was right on the money. Pray Through Your TearsWhen people have suffered all they can bear They cry, for every tear is a prayer: All through the ages, down through the years, People have always prayed through their tears. In a song of the soul, the heart to heal, All the commands of love we feel Emboldening us to face our fears: People have always prayed through their tears. We pray out of love, we pray out of loss, Signalling heaven with the sign of the cross But whether or not there is someone who hears People have always prayed through their tears. The disciples joined with Jesus to dine - He added his tears to the bread and wine Saying down through the ages, all through the years People have always prayed through their tears. So sweet to the sorrowful is every drop Squeezed from the fruit of life’s bitter crop; In the songs and sighs meant for God’s ears People have always prayed through their tears. In a song of the soul, falling like rain In the heart, come tears to soothe the pain; As saith the age old prophets and seers: People have always prayed through their tears. So sing to my heart your soulful airs And I’ll cry you some of my beautiful prayers: All through the ages, down through the years, People have always prayed through their tears.

So beautiful and moving. I am crying even as I type this. Thank you for posting. I am going to copy and save to read again and again. Who was the author of this beautiful prayer?

Captain Pugwash, the broccoli kitten.
I wonder if this cat would still prefer broccoli if a bowl of kale were set next to the broccoli. I know it sounds like nonsense but a recent report says broccoli is healthier than kale despite earlier claims.

I like it steamed until fairly soft and then putting mayo on it before eating it.

Below is a video that explains how we taste and why some people hate broccoli and others don't. It turns out there is a gene that has been identified that influences the development of taste buds and their reaction to broccoli. There is a very interesting experiment done with school kids in the latter part of the video. When I was a kid my mom told me the reason I didn't like the taste of some foods was that "it was all just in my mind." It looks like it's actually all in our genes.

As sweet as this is, I can't make out the lyrics distinctly, so I put them here:
Sweetheart of the Sun
by Eric William Barnum
She stood breast-high amid the corn, Clasp'd by the golden light of morn, Like the sweetheart of the sun, Who many a glowing kiss had won.
On her cheek an autumn flush, Deeply ripen'd;—such a blush In the midst of brown was born, Like red poppies grown with corn.
Round her eyes her tresses fell, Which were blackest none could tell, But long lashes veil'd a light, That had else been all too bright.
And her hat, with shady brim, Made her tressy forehead dim; Thus she stood amid the stooks, Praising God with sweetest looks:—
Sure, I said, Heav'n did not mean, Where I reap thou shouldst but glean, Lay thy sheaf adown and come, Share my harvest and my home.

The above post by mbusby reminds me much of a work by lyric poet John Shaw Neilson, who brings tears to my eyes almost as much as Jackie.
To An Early Flowering Almond
Gowned as a bride thou art Caught with the glow, Giving with ruddy heart Blood to the snow.
Thou hast come in to make Dreams to the boy, Lightly the girl will take Omens of joy.
Thou hast the taste of all Sweethearts in Spring, Thou hast come out to call Colours to sing.
Low rides the sun above, Meek as the moon: Thou art as moist in love As a love tune.
Still as a bride thou art In a bride's gown: See! an uplifted heart Beats in a clown.

Might be seeing a tad more than is actually there- I don't think Vincent knew much about physics- but who knows what the mind is capable of with only instinct?

This will sound like I am an idiot perhaps, but being short on time I didn't spend much on the actual topic, but rather, I found myself wondering if the Breaking Bad people got the name Heisenberg(sp?) from the Heisenberg(sp?) mentioned here
