I am sure Jackie will perform equally as well in both Houston area concerts. My question - Mbusby - which one would you suggest. I have a close friend that lives in Katy. I called him yesterday to introduce him to Jackie. I recommended several early and later songs and to read her Wiki page to get to know her.
You mentioned you talked to Lisa a while back. I wish you could call her back and get Jackie's home page updated.

I was devastated by this news. I followed Christina all the way through The Voice. She was a superstar from the moment she walked on that stage. Like the assassinations of John Lennon and Pantera's Dimebag Darrell it robbed music of a great talent. RIP Christina

@ mbusby, I was able to purchase tickets also. I also noticed that huge blocks of tickets were reserved in the front center section. It seems that all the "primo" tickets were spoken for. The best that I could get in the center was in Row F, seats 20, 21, 22. Since this will be my first concert, I am really looking forward to it. Like many here I hope the majority of her selections will be CC.
Will anyone be pursuing a get together prior to the concert?

We have offered to help as we have lived in this area for 35+ years (same zip code as the venue). There is a mexican and italian restaurant next to the venue (separated by a court house and police station). If you want the real deal tex-mex, we could reserve tables at El Tiempo. It's 3 or 4 miles down from the venue but close to Hwy 249, which I suspect many will be staying due to the hotels near there. It's a straight shot from there down Louetta to right on Champion Forest and then left on Cypresswood to the venue. El Tiempo has very good Margaritas (not watered down). You can eat there and go to the concert with a big grin on your face. That big grin on your face might be construed as someone who has gas. 🤣

I got my tickets as well. Another fan who is not familiar with this forum has also made some initial plans for a fan gathering. Because it's still in the initial stages, the word hasn't really gone out yet. I only bring that up so that we can hopefully coordinate things. I'll do my best to pass info along to the fans that I know of across different social media platforms, to make sure that we don't end up with multiple fan gatherings, and to make sure that nobody is excluded.
One question I have. When looking at the online maps, is this concert taking place at Cypress Creek Christian Church? That's what is written at the spot where the maps say the venue is.

I live in Missouri, so if anyone sets up a pre-concert meeting, count me in for 2.

Looks like 'Mike M' has his own posse he texts to. See you all at the concert, we're out. Knowing Mike, I know that he's not trying to take the planning role away from you, and he most certainly does not want anyone excluded. He wants everyone there, whoever plans it and wherever it is. I'm sure that he doesn't know that there's someone more familiar with the area that is going. The problem is that most people from the old forum still don't know that this one exists, so while one person from here is looking into restaurants, someone who doesn't know of this forum is also looking into restaurants. But with most concerts, nobody ever steps up until the last second, so he was just trying to take the initiative, figuring that noone else would also be doing that. If you pick somewhere, I will let him know that that's the place to be.

I got my ticket on Monday. Personally, I'd prefer the Tex-Mex restaurant that mbusby mentioned. I've never been to Texas, except to change planes. I'd like to try the local cuisine. Mexican food is the best, except on the days I prefer Italian. I read a tweet from Juliet once where she mentioned eating at Chipotle for the first time. I thought about replying that she should go with her sister next concert in Texas, Arizona or California and get some better Mexican food.

Though you have to search out the good ones. I can recommend the La Familia kitchen trailer in the local Auto Zone parking lot.

For the 'Foodies' that plan to attend the Houston area concerts. I visited Houston a lot when I worked. Most meetings were 'over' eating and drinking. (I think they called it the 80's). You could spend you're entire expense account on Westheimer. The restaurants are decorated like you are in that country. I just looked up The Happy Buddha (Chinese cooked in front of you) and it and a lot of others are closed. New ones have taken their places. Like most things in Texas, they like their things Big. Biggest steaks, biggest lobsters (The Palms). Lots of memories, I think, still a little fuzzy. I recommend all the Papa's. He couldn't make up his mind what he liked, so he made one in every flavor.

I couldn't believe the number of German restaurants. I wanted to try one, but the people we were staying with took us out for Chinese. Beggars can't be choosers.

I agree that El Tiempo would be a great spot for the pre-concert gathering. Tex-Mex just feels appropriate for a concert in Houston, plus it is my favorite. I'll let the other Mike know. I know of a couple others that aren't on here who will be at this concert, so I'll let them know too.

The Irish Pub and the Mexican restaurant are both in a shopping establishment called The Vintage. If you want fajitas, carnitas and tamales done right, pick El Tiempo. eltiempocantina.com/

mbusby am glad to know of a fan who is also interested in having a fan gathering. There is nothing in stone that we would have to go to Mo's. My experience at the Tyler concert was that fans wanted a varied American menu, that's why Mo's was selected. I would love to have input from a local fan as I am coming from the SanAntonio area. I was asked by Jack Buckeye to do the Tyler fan gathering with kess than a months notice. I figured I'd take the lead earlier on this one. The only fan I knew of from Houston is on a business sebatical in Denver so I took the initiative to start on my own. I would be pleased to back you up on the efforts you have already made towards a fan gathering. Plz respond
