And Woody could also have her appear in one, or more, of his movies which could lead to more movies. In the younger crowd, Woody has had Scarlett Johansson and Rachel McAdams. Jackie would get tremendous worldwide exposure. Actually, that thought crossed my mind as well - as long as Mike remains nearby!

10 shows are a lot. Can she sell them? Time will tell. Maybe Peter K has some juice there? Maybe her other NY-based collaborators (Dina F, Heather H, others?) will appear? The hotel website listing the various rooms to book for private functions shows the Cafe Carlyle seating only 60 for dining. So we're looking at an intimate and pricey venue. I certainly don't speak with any knowledge, but they also are selling seats at the bar. I suspect those raise the total, perhaps to the 88 mentioned elsewhere.

It says 8:45 AND 10:45 ... Is Jackie going to do all 20 shows??? I think that 8:45 and 10:45 was a general statement as to when shows may be held. Both the original announcement in the first post of this thread and the Ticketron page only show Jackie having 8:45 performances.

Even if not buying tickets, there are 487 comments from many of Jackie's concerts, which are worth reading.

My electronic illiteracy is showing, LOL. it took me about 15 minutes to find them also when this was originally posted. Next to the set of stars by each of the 10 performances, there is a number in parentheses (491 now but apparently only 487). Click on any of them.

It will be interesting to see if Jackie gets a little edgy for the upscale NYC crowd. Is she ready for a torch song at sixteen? Her little black dress pic says she can carry it off. Maybe one of PK's jazzed up classical tunes. I'll go out on a limb and predict better sales as the performances go on. That is if the first few aren't sellouts. The shear beauty of Jackie's voice will carry the day even for the sophisticated patrons of Cafe Carlyle.
I'm with PGA in wondering if Peter K will be effective at networking some patrons for our girl.
I won't be going. Chic attire? That's no place for a Hoosier hick.
WAY LATE EDIT: Jackie will be seventeen years old for this engagement. Barely. Lol

I wonder if the extended engagement at the Café Carlyle is to show Broadway producers that young Jackie can withstand the rigors of a Broadway show?

I wonder if the extended engagement at the Café Carlyle is to show Broadway producers that young Jackie can withstand the rigors of a Broadway show? Hi seraphin. I see you mentioned the possibility of Broadway for Jackie in both of your posts on this thread. I once thought Broadway would be calling Jackie too. I was disabused of that notion when a very knowledgeable poster named Happy Camper explained that Broadway theater meant seven full shows per week. Sunday only off, and a matinee show Saturday to make the seven. Also Broadway requires a fair amount of projection of the voice, not near as much as opera (HC's true love) but still much more than Jackie is required in her current concert settings. Think of all those little "Annie" girls turning toward the audience to belt out Tomorrow. Then there are the acting skills that hundreds of aspirants work their hearts out to acquire, most never receiving the recognition that comes with a decent, let alone a top billed, role. I hold my hopes out now for a movie musical role (or several) for Jackie. Fairly intense work for a time but not in "the show must go on" sense that B-way is subject to relentlessly. Eventually the movie is complete and can be enjoyed over and over again. I'm beginning to think that a Disney Princess type role with song and dialog in an animated movie, may suit Jackie's talents best of all. I do agree that there is a high likelihood of there being important people in her audience over the ten days of her run in the Big Apple. That can only be good for Jackie, because she never fails to bring it when it counts.
