Another good visitor's comment at Jackie's Facebook: Mike Youknowwho‎ to Jackie Evancho 2 hrs. Hi, I know Jackie Evancho doesn't moderate this page, and I hope she doesn't have to read any of the few criticisms and hurtful, ignorant remarks regarding her upcoming performance. If so, or if not, I was asked by the other 7 billion people to mention a couple of things. My name is Mike and according to the dictionary, I am very, very liberal. The dictionary tells me I am not conservative. I have read a lot of different kinds of books, and am comfortable calling myself a Socialist. I also read a lot of 19th/early 20th century fiction, and listen to all kinds of music constantly. I, more or less, work for a school as an accountant (I do math). History is going to remember Jackie Evancho as a gift to mankind. Ok, Jackie, time to stop reading. I buy all of your new music. --Mike As for the 18 other people who forgot: Jackie Evancho didn't get to vote in this year's presidential election, and it's a bit much to expect her to have a Bachelors in Political Science at 16 years old. What were you doing at 16? When I was 16, I would have sang, danced and played a trumpet for a Clinton, a Bush OR Darth Reagan, and I can't sing or play trumpet. I'm miserable about the election, too, but taking out your frustration on a kid is disgusting and wrong. Whether you were a Republican Dad yelling at your son for spelling "potato" correctly, or one of today's, you know, majority of Americans, it's not okay to attack a child. It's also illogical to threaten to "boycott" a 16-year old singer for playing a gig that Sinatra took at his peak, because you don't like a guy, but boycott whatever you want. She did not and could not support or, probably, care less about any Presidential candidate. Remember Dukakis? Exactly. If you enjoy good classical music, check out Shostakovich's 8th Symphony, or not because Stalin more or less appropriated it. What about if Mozart performed for a particularly nasty emperor? When he was 16? Jackie Evancho seems like a much classier and dignified teenager than I was, but when I was 16, I did not care about politics, and I was not about to let anyone talk me out of doing something that sounded cool. In closing, we just want you 18 people who forgot to remember: Don't be mean to people, especially kids, you're better than that. ---7 billion people To who ever Mike , excuse but I am and 60 + million people are not miserable about the election >> I may been

How many were from drugs , they do their best stoned BG: "...they do their best stoned" PGA: LOL. BG: "...from drugs..." PGA: Unfortunately, drug & alcohol abuse kills off way too many musicians, often when they're young - as we all know. But the deaths of both Natalie Cole & David Bowie were suspicious for being late effects of Hepatitis C, which might have been from drug use when they were younger (well-documented in both cases). There are also late cardiac effects of alcohol & stimulants on the heart, which could have (e.g.) been a factor in Carrie Fisher's death. Sometimes drugs & alcohol kill people many years later.

Agree , just read the long list of show-biz greats that have died from overdoses of drugs and booze as well as groups as if under a rolling stone still today high as a kite on stage ,

"News to date" Today Maria Carey was considering performing at the inaugeration, but her manager talked her out of it saying it would be a career limiting move. Not because she would be performing for Trump, but she would be performing after Jackie, and that performing after Jackie anywhere would be a career limiting move.

Mariah Carey's performance at the New Year celebration was widely panned, at least from what I heard.

The music director of The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields is now Joshua Bell, who played violin on Jackie's version of MHWGO

Is this true or are you merely being a fan? Where was it published? It's definitely true that Kelly Clarkson said about Jackie: "I hate following that little girl. She's so good." What a compliment!

Hopefully Jackie will sing more than SSB at the inauguration. My wish list would include "To Believe', 'God Bless America', 'Imagine' and 'Someday at Christmas'. Of course it would be fantastic if the Mormon Tabernacle choir sang backup!
The whole country needs these songs of hope and inspiration!
Has Jackie ever recorded john Lennon's Imagine?
Found one UNICEF Imagine project

Do you really want the truth to stand in the way of a good story? I was aware the at least one person had said this, I think Michael Grimm or one of the other AGT contestants said this as well.

No, but she sang Let It Be with Jacob on stage when she was 11.
