I didn't say she "put out a statement" but that she made a statement on social media (that being Instagram). Those who read it are those who insisted upon hearing from Jackie herself.....and accusing Jackie of abandoning her fans, hating her fans, etc. Where, in your estimation, should a statement have been made for the general public, which of course would not have been in Jackie's interest of privacy? The other media was YouTube which carried the main thrust of discord and contention, that having been shut down by disabling the comment section on many of Jackie's videos, particularly "River" where the ugliness began and persisted quite a while before someone decided enough is enough. I'm not questioning your disappointment with the lack of regard for Jackie's fans, as it were, rather clarifying that Juliet did make a statement for those who expressed concern. How about on Jackie's social media, like Instagram and FB, where she posts everything to her fans. That's where she made the big post to her fans about being back and explaining her accident and eating disorder. lol...not sure why you asked that question...the answer is beyond obvious. Instagram primarily, FB secondarily is how Jackie communicates directly to her fans and that's been the case for years. Sorry, some very brief statement made by her sister on her sister's Instagram account to a couple of persistent OTTs doesn't count. Almost nobody reads Juliets Instagram, certainly not 99.99 percent of Jackie's fanbase. lol The real question is why are you reading Juliet’s posts Donk? Not that there’s anything wrong with that. 🥴

I told her the leading three theories that I was hearing on "the street", and she responded and said all three theories were ridiculous. Turns out one of the theories was correct, so she fibbed (although I understand why). lol I haven't read Juliet's Instagram since Jackie came out of seclusion...not interested.

This was a good, revealing interview and introduction to the concert. Thus far, according to comments, the "Jackie Sings Joni" concept in conjunction with her "older stuff" has been well received in this City Winery series, no reason to assume it won't continue.....Not speaking of attendance, but of the response to her show. Btw, zwergnase, you effectively gave your "evaluation" back in mid August....lol. You really need to attend a concert sometime to realize what you're missing and appreciate the comments made from attendees whom you scoff as exaggerating....."fantastic", "flawless", "As great as she sounds here, she sounds infinitely better in person. Do yourself a favor and go to one of her shows..."Thanks Jackie...you were beyond awesome!!!!" If the concert is called "Jackie sings Joni" Jackie should only sing Joni Mitchell songs, anything else would be nonsense. Jackie recorded a concept album with only Joni's songs. If Jackie wants good reviews and ratings for a "Jackie Evancho sings Joni Mitchell" concept concert, she shouldn't sing any other songs besides Joni's. These are now her favorite songs, why else does she record them. Why would she sing songs from the Phantom? Then she should have recorded an album of songs from the Phantom. How long should Jackie continue to sing the old stuff until she is a hundred years old? If Jackie wants to do Justice to Joni Mitchell, she shouldn't sing any other songs. This is not a "Jackie sings Joni and a few other songs"" show, it is called "Jackie sings Joni". Why do you want to hear songs that have been sung dozens of times by Jackie? It would be nice if Jackie would give a preview of the program.

My evaluation was correct because the ticket sales prove me right, if Jackie had only described the concerts as "Carousel of time" and not as "jackie sings joni" the interest would have been greater. an evaluation, you clueless, of concerts that have not yet taken place, so that's what you think I've done. Open the window your brain needs oxygen. The smaller the number of spectators, the larger the proportion of ott fans. according to your logic, a concert in front of ten or fewer people would be desirable. her canceled concert in 54 below, of course you don't mention it at all. It was definitely not canceled due to covid or sell out. From what you said here the show should be sold out today, now, let's hope so, but I don't think this interview will attract many people. By the way, for at least 3 days, it has been on Amazon.com that only 4 CDs are still in stock. This means that no CD has been sold for at least 3 days, no cd was in stock for over a week, so none could be sold. interesting that you don't propagate the sale of a cd as a success.

Unless an album is a whole work telling a single story, I think nearly everyone performing on tour mixes a sampling of their latest with some fan service with old favorites. I don't care if the theme is movie music or Broadway music or Joni Mitchell music, a theme is NOT a story in itself and cannot be expected to be undiluted in concert. In a TV special that's like the album but with video and a fancy stage, sure, but that's not what this is.

That's the problem. Many people are not motivated to go to these shows. People are sometimes negatively influenced by such trifles. This is one of the explanations for the low ticket sales. The location and the reduction of the backing band is another explanation. Many don't want to see Jackie like that. There are many explanations for the lack of ticket sales, the question that arises is why Jackie is currently hardly giving concerts in larger locations. The fact that Jackie is already adding new songs to her show repertoire shows that the original concept didn't work. Jackie does everything possible to lure fans into her shows, unfortunately it doesn't work.

As I wrote, the title "Jackie sings Joni" implies that only Joni Mitchell songs are sung. That's the problem. Nobody but the most hard core Joni fans would feel cheated if only roughly half the songs are Joni Mitchell songs. That's the point. And in a food+entertainment venue, a lot of the people are there for any entertainment plus food, not chosen particularly (save out of curiosity or because it's at least something that won't annoy them) for artist or event title. If I was like that, as long as it wasn't a genre that I can't stand, I'd probably go. It isn't any one thing. Although if one is going to do a cover of Joni songs, this isn't a bad time for it, a still young person may have difficulty drawing with even timely nostalgia; and having been gone for so long especially doesn't help and to recover will take time and content more likely to build excitement.

I don't think there are too many hard cord joni mitchell fans going to Jackie shows and being disappointed that Jackie is also singing lots of other, older Jackie classics. lol I don't think it's a problem...at all. Jackie knows what her fan want most, and it certainly isn't mostly or all Joni MItchell songs. Sure, adding that material is something new to keep things a little fresh, but Jackie knows mixing in a bunch of fan favorites is what fans really want the most. And, she threw in a new song she wrote, and is advertising these shows as "past, present, and future me". lol

The fact that Jackie is already adding new songs to her show repertoire shows that the original concept didn't work. Jackie performed her new song, "Smoking Gun", at the first Winery show, Nashville, as she had planned. She's adding new songs (originals) to the set-list to try them out on a live audience wanting to know the response, not because, as you suggest, the concept didn't work. Jackie does everything possible to lure fans into her shows, unfortunately it doesn't work. Do fans need to be "lured" into her shows? or do you mean other than OTT fans? I suppose you really mean people in general. The Winery series may be an experiment. She has a Christmas concert coming up in Pittsburgh Dec. 10. Lets see how attendance measures up then.

it's not about "feeling cheated" but about some really thinking that only Joni' Mitchell songs are offered. So why are ticket sales so low? A possible explanation would also be that Jackie does not have more fans in these cities. But I don't think so. So, the low ticket sales have to be explained differently. Venue, small backing band, lack of or wrong advertising, selection of songs etc. All this can be the reason. Even if the concerts are good, in the end there is a bad ticket sales in the facts. If ticket sales were to increase with the concert dates, we could speak of a positive effect, but this is not detectable. the first "Jackie sings Joni" concert in 54 Belows was cancelled, the second contained no Kitty songs and no new songs. After that, Will Nunziata was brought in to revise the concept. A "Jackie Evancho Chrismas" concert in a music hall, is not a "Jackie sings Joni" at food and drink concert. If Jackie doesn't have good ticket sales there, then I'm very worried, and I'm already worried because there is only one Christmas concert so far.
