The video on youtube has been removed. Possibly because of the poor sound quality from about 100 seconds. The video on youtube was only 6 seconds longer than the Instagram video. It must have been for some other reason. I watched/listened to the video and the sound quality was good through to the end.

Anyone who doesn't hear that is deaf. This video is way better.

Despite your opinion of the instrumentation (" a wild mess") the sound quality of Jackie's voice is very good. And, I particularly appreciate the up-close visual of Jackie's emotional expressions.....a great performance. 833 Likes and the comments show that others appreciate the performance as well.

So I'm not the only one with this opinion Wilbur Finnigan is notorious for his disparaging comments on Jackie's videos....usually putting her down to promote his favorite singer. Not one I consider credible. There is a good reply to his comment: "Never mind the sound system. Jackie gives a wonderful, heartfelt rendition of this great hymn...." It's not that I don't respect your opinion, just an unnecessary criticism in my view. It's the performance that really matters.

Wilbur Finnigan has only one other comment on Jackie's channel, nowhere is another singer mentioned. So what is your statement based on? The recording in the video is bad, completely overdriven. Here is a picture: i.ibb.co/ZmP8fsz/How-Great-Thou-Art-Jackie-Evancho-live-14-12-2022-07-33-09.pngThere are much better recordings of this song by Jackie on YouTube. A good audio recording looks like this. i.ibb.co/wg6c2Xz/Jackie-Evancho-How-Great-Thou-Art-Clearwater-FL-03-23-2022-14-12-2022-08-01-37.png

Here is a picture: "Jackie's videos" means videos posted by Jackie, of Jackie or about Jackie. One of several comments by Wilbur Finnigan. I won't spend the time and effort hunting down his other comments among countless videos to justify my statement to you, though I remember the content trying to discredit Jackie. MOTM, "Reflection", 4 months ago -Sorry Jackie but Lucy Thomas out does you on this song !!!! One can imagine the mentality of a man seeking out Jackie's old videos to make this kind of comment and others more recent. It's no surprise that he commented on How Great Thou Art....."Too bad this was recorded off a public sound system....sound as usual is lousy !!!!" No mention of the performance itself. And, the only comment among the 65 to date about the sound quality, except Carolyn Muller who wrote before hand: "Wonderful performance of this mezzo-soprano , up to minute 1.50 then the music gets too loud and indistinct, which unfortunately spoils the rest of the impression." As I said: There is a good reply to his comment: "Never mind the sound system. Jackie gives a wonderful, heartfelt rendition of this great hymn...." It's not that I don't respect your opinion, just an unnecessary criticism in my view. It's the performance that really matters. Read the recent posts by Yellowstone in "Library Music Hall, Pittsburgh, Dec. 10, 2022".

Read the recent posts by Yellowstone in "Library Music Hall, Pittsburgh, Dec. 10, 2022". I don't see Wilur Finnigan as a problem, such comments about other singers should simply be ignored. I'm more concerned about people who read the comments in old videos. A reply to my comment on Youtube. By R D "Audience recordings, on inferior devices, pick up the background music too much compared to her voice. I can testify, having been to 17 Jackie concerts, her voice absolutely dominates the concert halls when you hear her live. I guess it's better than nothing if you weren't able to be there. She has the most astounding voice I've ever heard." It is a confirmation that the recording is not good, there are also comments on Facebook that confirm this. Most people ignore this or they don't see the video to the end.

http://instagr.am/p/CmLBylWACCK Here's my comment to Jackie's post about the "catfishers" and panhandlers that have been trying to scam fans via her Instagram account. Basically describes how they work it. I brought this up here about a year ago. Apparently it took a distraught Jackie fan and very likely a personal acquaintance (ie someone who knew her current residential address) for Jackie to become aware of it and post her warning. I and others have been "aware" of it for several years. But where and to whom do you report it? Fan posts are likely never read by Jackie or even other fans. Most only read their own. As I said at the end of my comment, hopefully after Jackie's directly warning, no one will fall for it from here on. jcasnmusic "This has been going on at least since I began commenting to Jackie's Instagram posts over the past 2 years. Nothing new about it. Conversation with the "imposter" always leads to an appeal for money; usually, but not always, for a donation to a charity. Some I've conversed with have been quite knowledgeable about Jackie and convincing .... until they ask, inevitably, for the hand out. They avoid the "blue check" issue by "messaging" you at' her "private account"; a place where she can tell you how much she appreciates you being her fan. Then it's to "hang out', where they email you. I wonder how many have been "catfished" here to date and scammed into sending money? Finally with her direct and "blue checked" message to us today, no one, I hope, from this point on. Thank you Jackie"

People must not be so gullible.

Reminds me of a court scene where the defense attorney asks the jury to imagine anything but a purple cow. Once you've brought something to people's attention they can't ignore it. Now. anyone who reads your comment will be listening for the "wild mess" in the recording, distracting them from the beauty of Jackie's "astounding voice"....Fortunately, your comment remains too far back in the conversation to influence any significant number of viewers while the vast majority can still appreciate the video. Btw, I can assure that no one but a detractor would "not see the video to the end"

There is no doubt about that. People who use bad audio equipment may not hear it. I myself uploaded videos of Jackie. Only 45 percent or less of viewers watch the video after 30 seconds. After 90 sec. only 25 %. A critic would probably watch the video longer.
