I wouldn't be so sure about this. From the beginning, they've worked with people & politicians of both parties. Repub PA State Rep Jane Orie was instrumental in having Jackie sing for the 2009 Sep 11 Flight 93 Memorial. We all know she worked with Redford & filed the Juliet bathroom lawsuit, sang for Obama twice & met Trump several years ago. And of course she's singing at the inauguration. She's also appeared on multiple media, including Fox, NBC & others. If the E's were strongly biased to one side or the other, they would have favored only one side, which they haven't done. She's non-partisan and tries to make everyone happy. Good luck to her. It's getting harder & harder...

The vast majority of Americans tend to be middle of the road types, I think Jackie is in that group. She may lean one way or the other but life tends to throw curve balls into your path that test your convictions and most of us deal with them best we can. Look at Dick Cheney and his stance on gay marriage, certainly would have called that one based on his politics.
It was a wise choice to accept the offer to sing the National Anthem at the inauguration, it can only serve to help Jackie's career with all Americans.

I earned a bonus at work and so looked at this concert. On Saturday, so wouldn't miss work. Some cheap flights were available and hotel nearby not too expensive. This will be the first post-Christmas concert, so maybe Jackie could add some unexpected songs. I'd like to be there for that. Also, I've never been to a Jackie concert in the Central time zone. Thought about this for a few days. Hmm... But what if she gets waylaid in D.C. after singing the national anthem? What if the concert is postponed, which for me would be the same as a cancellation? Nah...won't happen. She'll be there. Ok, let's do this thing. Oops...cheap flights all gone. Never mind. Maybe next time.
Everyone have a great time. This should be interesting, being the day after her largest TV audience ever. Let us know if the venue put up any posters or if, like so many other venues, didn't bother.

I'll give a report, but I may not be as detailed as some others. A shame it didn't work out for you.

Come on, Mike, you can make it! We can split a hotel. I'm missing all the concerts that you make it to. Hopefully, our concert paths will cross again. This one is as close to my home as she's been in 4 years, even though it's still a 5-hour drive. Just 3 weeks away! I can't wait!!!

Well Colin, you sent me back to Expedia, but can't swing it. I want to go to Tyler, but Jackie is coming to my area three weeks later. I have tickets for Palm Desert, Cerritos, Pittsburgh and Seattle, but haven't paid for airfare or hotels yet. I'm notorious for buying tickets, not being able to go to the concerts, due to lack of funds, and then giving away my tickets. One time I was able to help out a fan that was unemployed. I later became unemployed myself. At Santa Barbara I had to take Greyhound and I didn't have enough for a hotel. My plan was to walk around all night and avoid the cops until the next bus left in the morning. Thankfully, another fan gave me a ride home. I don't want to be stretched that thin ever again, so gotta show a little restraint.

I checked the online seating chart today - the center sections are all sold out, except for the very back, and the orchestra sides are nearly full. The remaining sides are about half sold, maybe a little more. (The balcony all shows as sold out, but it's actually closed for this concert.) I haven't seen it advertised on Tyler TV yet though, so hopefully it will be even fuller by the time of the concert..

A fan gathering has been planned by a couple of faithful Jackie fans who haven't found their way over to these proboards yet. Another fan has been looking into the possibility of something very close to the venue, but that hasn't quite been able to happen yet. So we'll plan on what has been arranged for now, and keep you updated if it changes. If you haven't seen Mike's post over on facebook, he is asking for us to let him know that we're coming by January 19th. I think he's wanting to give the restaurant a good count. His email is mikesrix0@gmail.com. If you want one of us to contact him on your behalf, let us know.
Pre-concert gathering: The Potpourri House 3320 Troup Hwy. Suite 300 Tyler, TX 75701 4:45-6:45
It's 2.3 miles from the Cowan Center, to the west. Many of the nearby hotel options that most of us will be staying at are in this area.
Post-concert gathering: Republuc IceHouse ( VIP Room ) 3807 University Blvd. Tyler, TX 75701 10:00-midnight
This is very close to the venue, just to the south. And we had mentioned this place earlier in this thread.

Just booked my room at the La Quinta around the corner from the Cowan Center. So, I shouldn't have any difficulty making both gatherings.

Colin, I added a comment to the Proboards earlier today but can't seem to find it. Would you please add the following info to the Jackie ProBoards for me.
I (Mike) have arranged 2 great Tyler restaurants for the pre-concert & after-concert fan gatherings. The VIP Room at the Republic IceHouse was already booked before the concert. But I have it for the After Party.
At the Potpourri House we will be at the back of the Main Dining Room and can order individually from the menu.
I need to know Reservation numbers First - to tell the Restaurants And Second because we are having Special Jackie Photo Badges being printed for the Jackie fans who makes a reservation to the Fan Gatherings. Thx Mike

That's good news. I've never watched a swearing in, so I was thinking it was in the evening. Since it's early, that will give her plenty of time. Yes, but she'll also be singing a duet with Bocelli in Washington, so don't know how early that will be! The only way she'll be singing with Bocelli is with his recording.

Cheney WAS anti-LBGTQ until his eldest daughter came out. Then he changed...sort of... No it was a HORRIBLE decision. Mango Mussolini, his cabinet and ALL his appointments are anti-LBGTQ. Sooner or later, hopefully sooner, Jackie will have to choose between Chief Cheeto and Juliet. Think about it; Jackie is the ONLY A-list star to accept an invitation to perform at this travesty of an inauguration. "Help her career with ALL Americans" ?? What world do you live in???
