Once I became an active fan of Jackie I began to wonder about the experiences she shared with other young stars like Shirley Temple here.  I read both of Charlotte Church's autobiographies (like so many celeb bios written with help) and after that found Shirley's wonderful Child Star which was written much later in her life and goes into great detail about her early life and stardom.  Let's hope Jackie is spared some of Shirley's negative experiences like having her considerable fortune squandered by her spendthrift but well-meaning parents and being raped as a teenage starlet by a studio executive!  Despite these, the book is written in a cheerful and candid style showing no remorse and filled with wonderful anecdotes about Hollywood in the 1930's and the many stars and others she worked with - that reminded me a great deal of some of Jackie's adventures.

They could be twin sisters...

This was even more noticeable the first time I saw her "in person" Aug. 31, 2011 at the Meyerson in Dallas when she was only eleven; it was as though a light switch was being turned on and off, one moment she was somber and serious - the next giggly and bouncy.

I was there, a great concert and she was so bubbly and giggly(typical 11 year old!) 


I wish I hadn't been on the first row of the balcony though, scared me to death. The guard rail was only mid-thigh to me and I'm short anyway. I couldn't rise for the SOs.

For some reason I only just now got around to reading this thread. A bunch of people are seeing 'likes' from the distant past. Lol.

I'm totally envious  of Shrodinger and JamesN who attended eleven year old Jackie's triumphant concert at the Meyerson in Dallas. That concert was the pinnacle of 'little' Jackie's giggly, bunny hopping, kiss blowing era.

Who here would not gladly pay 30, 60, 90 dollars for a well done video of that concert?
