I hope that one day someone with the writing skills, the knowledge and interest will produce a documented history of Jackie Evancho's life and career, including her personal and professional challenges, unprecedented achievements, set-backs and tribulations as a young classical crossover artist. Her story is one for the ages, a fascinating journey with a history of accomplishments unequaled by any child singer of this century. And, as Jackie said recently with regard to her songwriting, "This is just the beginning"....."I'm turning a new page, I'm starting a new chapter".
I agree lawrence! At this stage of her career, she is starting over and we need to capture, with words, pictures, and a CD, her extraordinary accomplishments, as a child, for the world to enjoy, as have we!!
At 22, where she goes from here is anyone's guess, but she has already made her mark in history and it should not be forgotten!!
Perhaps it can begin here with contributions from members to build a comprehensive chronicle of significant events as a resource. My hope is that one day "The Jackie Evancho Story" will be made into a TV documentary, an accurate and authentic portrayal of her life and career as a child prodigy who grew up "in the spotlight" under untold pressures; confronted with extraordinary challenges, meeting each as she matured with integrity, courage, dignity, determination and grace. It's the story of a humble young artist's dedication to her craft, love of family, respect for her peers, mentors and collaborators, her generosity and kindness represented by having been acknowledged a role-model. It's also a story of suffering and persistence, of never giving up on her "dream" despite opposition, often harsh criticism, limitations and set-backs. In my estimation, Jackie is one of the most interesting and colorful young artists in the industry, a complex person of intelligence, charm, beauty, creativity, inventiveness, wit, and sass; a personality characterized by humility, endearing quirkiness, giggles, two-handed waves, pigeon toes and a tiny stature that appears bigger than life on stage, uninhibited by the greatness of artists, musicians and orchestras she has performed with. Hers is a career built on exceptional innate talent, versatility, exploration and experimentation. With her extraordinary attributes, admitted faults and shortcoming as well, Jackie Evancho is one of a kind, "America's Sweetheart", adored, admired and respected around the world.
