I believe that if Jackie is limited to singing only certain CC songs, then her fan base may remain limited as well. Videos can be found of Andrea Bocelli singing Elvis (Love Me Tender, Can't Help Following in Love), Stevie Wonder (I Just Called to Say I Love You). and Sinatra (My Way). I guess I am in the camp that would encourage Jackie to sing other genres although I suppose that CC-ish songs does open that door somewhat. As an example, consider Angelina Jordan, a 16 year old Norwegian singer whose career has been very similar to Jackie's. While her strength may be her jazz and blues covers, she has also covered songs of Ella Fitzgerald, Sinatra, Beatles, Patsy Cline, Adele, Queen, Amy Winehouse, John Legend, Lana Del Rey, Etta James, and the list goes on. This has resulted in a large social media following including 656,000 YouTube subscribers. If Jackie excels in singing certain CC songs, she must be at least pretty good when singing other genres.

She is...and I want her to sing other genres. But I will say when I hear her sing the cc-like stuff...it still gives me the chills and makes me want to give her a standing ovation. When she sings the broadway tunes and a lot of the modern modern era pop songs, more times than not it's just "nice". Everyone has their strong suites...I just happen to believe Jackie's is singing Nella Fantasia, O Mio Babbino Caro, and Ava Maria, not Pedestal and Burn. That being said, I do think she sings some of the other stuff beautifully as well, like How Great Thou Art. In that case, I think that has something to do with the personal meaning of that song to her with regard to her grandmother. By the way, I have tried to encourage Jackie to sing more Jazz/blues on Instagram. I think she sounds fantastic singing that genre and could put out some great stuff if she would do that.

Jackie's strong point may always be CC but I thought she did pretty darn well as Kitty on "The Masked Singer." I for one would like to hear her do more of the old standards. Let Jackie continue to grow and expand her range. She still has a long career ahead of her. How many would like to have Jackie release a CD or DVD of her singing all the songs she sang on Masked Singer? I would also like to her version of 'You're So Vain' which was her next song if she had not been unmasked. Jackie can sing ALL genres.

"Yesterday a child came out to wonder." This is the performance where, when and why tears began to flow from her audience. When asked what kind of music she does, she answered, "classic". When I watch this video, 13 years after it was recorded and 9yo Jackie sang this 100 year old aria, I still can't help tearing up in "wonder" at what I'm watching and hearing and have since at many of her performances of songs in nearly all genres. No other musical artist has ever been able to do that for or to me during my 78 year love affair with music of all kinds.

Yeah, if I had been there when she sang this during that talent show, my jaw would have been on the floor and my eyes would have been tearing up...no doubt. lol

No other musical artist has ever been able to do that for or to me during my 78 year love affair with music of all kinds. The woman interviewing Jackie is Debra Crosby. Debra was nominated best acting and media coach in the US by the National Digital Film Academy. She is a wonderful person who had to have double knee replacement operations a little while ago. I remember visiting her in her Salem, MA apartment where after the operations for multiple times a day, Debra had to lay on her couch and exercise her knee in this special device as part of her rehabilitation. If her knee surgeries were not enough, Debra, unfortunately, got COVID-19 in November 2020. With her vulnerable immune system, she developed COVID-19 long haul. Debra was not able to go back to work until March 2021, although she still has some occasional COVID-19 long haul symptoms to this day. Debra's late father was the former WBZ Radio and Community Auditions TV Host Dave Maynard. Community Auditions started in 1965 on WBZ-TV in Boston and ended after 36 years on-air on June 18, 1986. The show was an amateur talent showcase and, I believe, one of the first, if not the first of its kind in the US. Dave was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and was a legend around the Boston/New England area. The show that Jackie was singing on was Debra's Talent Quest cable TV show. I believe it became the second significant talent show that Jackie won in June of 2009. Talent Quest began in April 2007. It routinely had as many as 2.5 million viewers. In 2008, Debra's show was awarded as one of the top three locally produced cable TV shows for music and entertainment for all of New England and New York. One of the interesting tidbits about Debra's show is that the winner of The Quest For The Best finale competition in 2009 won a private audition with producers of America's Got Talent! Here is an oldie, but goodie, from the show. On 2/28/2010, Jackie sung I Will Always Love You in Italian in the finale at the Hard Rock Cafe. Shortly thereafter Jackie made it to AGT.

Let Jackie continue to grow and expand her range. She still has a long career ahead of her. I agree she did well on Masked Singer...problem was, she did it anonymously for all but the last five minutes of time on the show. Jackie will keep exploring other genres...and she should. But nothing I have heard her sing approaches what she can do with cc. It's nice...but not good enough to substantially grow her fan base into a new genre. Thats wrong. Besides what chuck accurately wrote about CC material. CC means to crossover into the mainstream (which she did on tms). Its also about their preference for the material which can be whatever the artist wants to record. The Masked Singer is a Game Show so people were watching her performances (and she had the most hits on youtube out of anyone else that season for Dangerous Woman next to Turtle when he sung "Fix You" ironically the episode she was eliminated and her DW video was deleted btw he complimented her) and the entire premise is to guess who it is behind the mask, so Jackie fans put it out there that it was her by week 2 and so for weeks leading up to the reveal they were searching her videos and googling her. So by the time she was revealed online fans of the show were already aware that it was her. Also the people who watch TMS no doubt are also viewers/demo of those who watch AGT so they were entirely aware of who she was. She was also on the After show that Fox aired where they interviewed her and she reperformed True Colors. Fox also reaired her reveal on another show and Ozzy made his funny comment about her. She is still a favorite among fans of the show on reddit. As to why she couldnt do more with it, covid made it impossible to do anything other than write, record and sing for a minute at a time on instagram. So hopefully a whole list of dates will come out and the album preorder.

As far as Masked Singer, some Jackie fans suspected it was her, but most of audience had no idea who Jackie Evancho is, and they all guessed all kinds of other names. The show largely failed in expanding her fan base, by in large because she was anonymous throughout and only identified at the end. When her face was briefly shown, most people were like, "wait, Jackie who?" The post show interview was interesting, but I suspect few saw it compared to the number of people who watch the actual show, and those who did weren't watching her sing, they were watching someone they knew nothing about doing an interview. Doing that show was worth a shot, and she should have done it, but I fear it had little to no effect on expanding her fan base.

Its hard to fathom why there has been such a campaign of hate and misinformation over the years directed at her that I observed since the success really of her DWM album. Often ive found that even positive fans dont want to even consider that shes been popular or acknowledge that she has sold millions and made an impact here in the US. Her impact on AGT was huge they are still attempting to recreate the magic they had with her and while others have certainly found success and had more youtube hits, she has managed to make numerous repeat appearances, make major tv guest appearances on the biggest shows, perform nearly 200 concerts, and with the Trump gig get massive media attention. Btw a number of online Masked Singer fans wanted her to win TMS when they found out a woman won and I think if she didnt have those gigs scheduled, she could have won the show or came in runner up. She was that good. I have to acknowledge that her management has played a role in her staying in the public eye as long as she has and hopefully will continue to.

On the other hand, the covid pause forced Jackie to sit with herself and realize she needed to confront mental health issues that desperately needed to be attended to. That was a good thing and something even more important than her career...her health and potentially even her life.

It is well known that covid-19 has increased mental problems. The situation in 2020 has definitely led to the extreme deterioration of Jackie's health.

I’d like to learn how much of an impact the toxic relationship between Mike an Lisa marriage and inevitable divorce had on Jackie’s mental health or was it just one of many factors to push her over the edge. 🤔

Jackie said she thought she always had to be perfect. This is the main reason for these kinds of mental problems. Anything that interferes with perfection is, of course, something that increases problems, including family problems, of course.
