Spreading the Love
I have a heart and so do you, But imagine if you had not one but two Beating in your body, wouldn’t it astound? – Two hearts to help you share the love around. I know a girl, she’s got two hearts To help her spread the love when the music starts; She spreads a lot of love; you can feel it in the air And everyone who listens can have a full share. My heart fills up with hopes anew The way silver-lined clouds let the sun shine through To smile on the earth from high above – That’s what it’s like when I listen to the love. We each have a heart; we feel it pound, But Jackie has two to share the love around: Two hearts singing to help a young girl Spread the love and kindness throughout the world. Very nice tiger , I no poet an know it on this place .... Jackie is as a butterfly spreading sweetness as she flutters from place to place Thanks mate, you can be quite lyrical yourself at times.

From whence that voice came >>> Jackie says from after her prominent masses of lymphoid tissues were removed , perhaps the Doctor has the answer . That's pretty funny, to think it might all be because of something as simple as that. That might only explain her particular tone, though. The mind still has to engage the gears to make it work, which I think is another thing that makes Jackie so exceptional.

For anyone who hasn't noticed, I have to own up to pinching the last line of "Spreading the Love" 100% off Jackie. It was one of her tweets. It's a good way to get a poem going - steal off someone. The lesson is, as it has been paraphrased: good poets borrow, great poets steal. It actually comes from T.S Eliot, who put it this way: "Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different.” Bob Dylan is a master of it.

There is an ethereal beauty and clarity characteristic of Jackie's voice universally recognized since her childhood which has matured to become even more captivating to me. As I understand, it is generated by the shape of her oral cavity, specifically the height of the cupola or dome of the roof of the mouth that produces that signature bell-tone quality. Having her tonsils removed probably contributed to her having more flexibility with her tongue and throat which would have given her significantly more ease in shaping her tones. She said in the Pittsburgh Star 100.7 interview (I think) that before her tonsils were removed she had trouble with choking on her food. I'm guessing at what would make sense physiologically. Never the less, it's apparent she has been given a rare physical gift seemingly designed to produce a one in a million voice.
Vocal quality aside, her prodigious mentality must be considered also in that she has an instinctive awareness of how to co-ordinate her vocal apparatus to affect the particular sounds she wants in order to express the character of a song she wishes to emote. That's perhaps what enables her to change from classical to pop songs, evoking a different emotion and effect in each. The differences between Atessa, Have You Ever Been In Love, and Apocalypse for example demonstrate her unique versatility in that regard. I am truly fascinated by the splendor of her voice now in its early maturity. Jackie cannot be mistaken for anyone else, though some have attempted to make comparisons. There is none other whom I know today who has the purity and brilliance in the high register that is in my opinion the wonder of her appeal. Perhaps that is what has so often brought to tears those who have been profoundly moved by the simple majesty of it..."The Jackie Effect".
It's difficult to explain what Jackie and her music have come to represent for me, because language fails to adequately express what I've felt. But it has to be iterated in some manner to acknowledge what to me is a phenomenon. I imagine that most who have had a similar feeling of awe and wonderment at the resplendence of Jackie's voice care less about whether or not she is vastly popular than what she has brought to each in a very personal way. Although, we all wish for her whatever she anticipates for herself. I'm inclined to think that Jackie might consider success as having touched the hearts of a world audience one listener at a time, one concert at a time, as she has done since she mesmerized those at St. Paul's in Houston still at age age 10 in that pretty beige and silver dress with the sparkling gemstone at the center of her waist.

An Evening Ride
I'm driving across the farmland country of Eastern Washington. Vast fields of timothy grass swaying in the late evening breeze are broken only by the occasional farm house, its companion barn and a rusty silo, each casting a long shadow, the rope-swing hangs from the much loved old maple tree in the yard. The hand painted mail box mounted on an ol' timey tractor wheel passes quickly with only a glimpse down the gravel driveway to what is home. It's a time of wonder, awesome and pleasing, when the horizon is host to red, orange, purple, crimson and yellow whispy clouds illuminated upon the backdrop of a slowly darkening azure sky, and the sun a red and friendly farewell behind me. There's a poetic moment of reflection and reminiscence of times past when a sunset meant romance and anticipation.
But, I'm given now to a feeling of peace and contentment as that entrancing voice calls me to surrender..."Come with me, and you'll be...in a world of pure imagination...Take a look, and you'll see...We'll begin, with a spin..traveling in the world of my creation".
One mesmerizing song after another, I am captive in the world of her creation as the two-lane highway makes a straight line to the distant foothills and who knows what lies beyond...for that matter, who cares? It's another hour or so of pure bliss. The sky with its multitude of hues and the splendor of Jackie's voice is a wonderous blend of nature's spirit and that emanating from the heart of our little songbird..."Che provo e, solamente amore" (What I feel, is only love)...I drive on in the twilight and my evening is complete.

Here is where it began... the emotional depth, the control, the compassion, the love of singing, and capturing hearts.
She becomes the soul of the music.

It's my observation that Jackie's career would not have begun were it not for her innate musical aptitude and abilities. They provide the foundation for capitalizing on the unique maturity and tonal quality of her young voice. That beautiful bell-tone is just the icing on the cake. Her instincts and insights have been essential to her artistry. Other accomplished singers have had to study, work and practice diligently to achieve what she does naturally.
Much has already been said by knowledgeable musicians, professional and amateur alike, about her various musical attributes. The clarity of her voice has been her signature. But, it's her "musical brain" that has made her the vocalist she is and has been since she first displayed her talent. Jackie sings with such natural ease that one might think her songs have not been challenging. Of course one has to be familiar with the difficulties inherent in a challenging song to appreciate her mastery and effortless execution. Jackie makes listening a wonderful experience because she is a natural artist able to cross genre boundaries and draw you into her own emotion.
