I've always said that Jackie like Karen Carpenter has a "rich" lower vocal range. I would have loved to hear Jackie's version of "we've only just begun".

A few years ago some on YouTube were complaining about Jackie singing in a darker tone and couldn't understand why so many liked it.

Tonight is JRChico and his daughter Chris's show. Enjoy Jackie you two, See ya tomorrow if you're not in a travel grog. Ditto! IIRC, they were going both nights, though, the 7PM show on the 23rd & the 10PM show on the 24th.

Since JRChico and Chris will be attending 2 of Jackie's concerts, they should be able to give an excellent review. I am looking forward to it.

"Probably one of my favorite in-studio performances. Like ever." So was this the Seattle KING-5 TV performance of SaS? Something else?? Of course Jackie knocked it out of the park...

On Amazon they are saying that Pedestal is a plagarism of a song called Titanium. I don't like Pedestal at all. I don't like Titanium either. I hope Jackie doesn't get sued.

Didn't we has an issue six months or more ago where Jackie released an "original song" that was soon spotted as having already been released in one of the Slavic countries. I think the composer played fast and loose with Jackie at that time. We need to know if Pedestal is one of the songs that came out of the collaborative sessions in NYC some months back. Is someone else playing fast and loose with Jackie's reputation, or are we having another Amazonian moment?

I looked to sheet music of Titanium and wrote the melody of Pedestal and compared it. There are similarities at the piano movement and at the mood. The melody of Titanium begins with Es-major and ends with c-minor using b, not the leading tone h. The melody of Pedestal uses syncopes too but starts with c-minor (I used 3 b to compare) uses the b too and goes to g-minor. So the leading tone h is missing in both melodies. But the syncopes and the missing h are all similarities. The rest is other. So for me there are parallels but not more. Same style but different songs. If You write a song today (as there are a huge lot of melodies before) there will always someone find similarities to any other. And the first compositions may lean against some well known. The personal style needs to grow. But it is a good start. The song has a red thread, a clear mood and a statement. It`s far away from the CC we know from Jackie and so for her older fans a hard thing to accept. With this first songs she just starts a new way and nobody knows where it will go to. There is a great number of competitors and she does well to stand on more legs. Ceterum censeo her voice is fitting CC more than pop but it`s her passion.

No. Titanium & Pedestal use the same notes (C-B-A in the key of C-maj/A-min), but both the rhythm & the chord structure are different. The chords & melody are different elsewhere (as waldschatt points out). Titanium is primarily major, unlike Pedestal. So no, I don't buy it.
