Jackie has essentially identified herself with the classical crossover genre throughout her career. A primary distinction that characterizes classical crossover vocalists is that they are generally trained in classical voice, with a characteristically classical approach to singing pop, and other genres, whereas Jackie has had no formal voice training. In that regard, what distinguishes Jackie a unique CC artist is her ability to adapt her voice and change her vocal style appropriate to different genres, an advantage of not having been classically trained, in my opinion, which has led to her having become an exceptionally versatile vocalist. Furthermore, her choices in music have been comparatively more diverse, having explored a wide variety of genres, an experiment that has been quite successful artistically. Jackie once said, "I discovered that I can make my voice do anything I want it to".
The following are examples from Jackie's repertoire demonstrating the diversity of her music choices and the flexibility with which she has altered her vocal style to suit each genre. I've selected songs from Classical Broadway, Electro Pop, Classical, Pop Opera, Rock, R&B, Contemporary Pop, Soul-funk, Folk Pop, Country Rock and Alternative/Indie Pop, presented two at a time in 6 parts, to demonstrate specific contrasts. They are from albums, single releases and special appearances, age 13 to the present.
Part 1: Classical Broadway vs Electro Pop/Hip Hop
Music of the Night from Phantom of the opera (age 13 -Songs From the Silver Screen album)
Blank Space by Taylor Swift (age 15 -single release)

And we have Jackie's Christmas song voice in her JUST RELEASED by Melody Place the audio of her song At Least I Have Santa: IMPORTANT NOTE: In another thread posting I had noted that if At Least I Have Santa was not released no later than November 1st, then Melody Place was not being serious. In today's world, music is typically released on a Friday. And by Melody Place releasing At Least I Have Santa on Friday, October 27th, they are indicating to me that they are serious for at least trying to make a dent in the Christmas music season with Jackie's song.

I selected both of those songs for Part 4. Btw, Dreams by Bazzi is R&B. Parts 2-6 yet to come in chronological progression. Historically speaking, though, R&B, as we understand it today, most often describes a style of music that developed after World War II that combines elements of pop, gospel, blues and jazz with a strong back beat. R&B both was influenced by jazz and has had some influence on modern jazz. Given the lack of a strong back beat, I personally still find the cover more in a jazz style than a R&B style. I understand that jazz typically has quite complex chords and that R&B is more simpler in its chord structures. And the Dreams cover is not an overtly complex set of chords. However, the way Jorn Swart was playing did not seem like a straight 4/4 with emphasis on the 2nd and 4th notes which is characteristic of R&B. It was more characteristic of a simple jazz structure that supported Jackie's singing. Here is an example of modern R&B in the song Good Good by Usher. You can hear the 4/4 with the 2nd and 4th note emphasis, and there is a strong back beat:

Given the lack of a strong back beat, I personally still find the cover more in a jazz style than a R&B style. Bazzi's "Dreams" is categorized R&B. I am designating the genres of the songs Jackie has covered not Jackie's rendition. She renders almost everything a little differently from the original to make it her own.

The Different Voices of Jackie Evancho Part 2: Classical vs Unknown genre Attesa, an opera intrumental interlude, lyrics by Sarah Brightman (age 16 -Two Hearts album) Have You Ever Been in Love by Jimmie Linville (age 16 -Two Hearts album) Have You Ever Been in Love is NOT in an unknown music genre. It is in pop and is known as a power ballad. It was recorded by Celine Dion and first released on her 7th English studio album A New Day Has Come (released in 2002) and was later included on her 8th English studio album One Heart (released in 2003). It peaked at #2 on the Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart.

Read the artist credit on Jackie's Two Hearts album.

I am designating the genres of the songs Jackie has covered not Jackie's rendition. She renders almost everything a little differently from the original to make it her own. It does not matter what the original Dreams by Bazzi is classified as if one makes significant changes in one's cover. I have seen Michael Jackson's pop (with elements of post-disco R&B funk dance) song Billy Jean done in a jazzy style. The original is pop. The cover was jazz. Jackie and Jorn Swart changed the arrangement, and the music style, to create a new slower jazzy version of the song. This is done a lot. A prime example was done by Peter Kiesewalter, a past music director of Jackie. He took the show tune music genre song Climb Ev'ry Mountain from The Sound of Music and flipped it on its head into a funk-rap music genre song. And there is zilch way one can call Peter's version by the show tune music genre of original song:
