IMO opera and to a greater extent classical crossover is simply not music adopted by the US in comparison to Europe. The Grammy's do not even recognize classical crossover as a genre. That is part of the reason why Jackie and others in that genre will never be truly successful in the way pop rock vocalists are. Unless you are one of the pioneers, i.e. Sarah Brightman. She's made her millions but that time has passed. Unless you're an Italian male or males. Jackie has been advised to call herself adult contemporary, apparently, which makes more sense. And that's basically musical theater and other current songs with melodies and intelligent lyrics. Adele and Ed Sheeran and Michael Buble seem to be the current big sellers in that genre. "Jackie has been advised to call herself adult contemporary, apparently, which makes more sense. And that's basically musical theater and other current songs with melodies and intelligent lyrics. Listen to it. It’s a very broad genre and it is popular especially with ole Cowell who brought it into mainstream.

I'm a little surprise that Jackie isn't plugging this show more on her social media sites.

I'm a little surprise that Jackie isn't plugging this show more on her social media sites. Well, if Jackie wasn't sent through to the semis, as has been leaked on that site, it's understandable. OTOH, if she was asked to give a performance during the Finals show, as a guest performer, as has also been rumored, DOES seem it would still have been good publicity. But maybe she was supposed to keep that secret.

That is probably because Jackie never got past the first round. Jackie was in the group containing Shin Lim (2018 AGT winner and also world champion close-up magician) and Kseniya Simonova (2009 Ukraine Got Talent winner and probably the best animation sand artist in the world - she has performed on live TV a sand art performance blindfolded). Kseniya was said to have gotten a Golden Buzzer from the host Terry Crews and Shin was said to be voted in by the "public". Reports had Jackie only singing "OK" although what she sung is not reported and it is relative as to what is "OK" as it can depend upon who is making the statement. The people in Jackie's group of 10 were reported to be Colin Cloud, Cosentino, Sons of Serendip, Kseniya Simonova, Tokio Myers, Sal Valentinetti, Lost Voice Guy, Attraction and Shin Lim. The AGT Champions shows were taped last fall, so the winners of each round and the ultimate winner are already known although not published for obvious reasons. Apparently Jackie was asked back to sing on the Finals show as a guest performer. This could mean many things such as her being just beaten out by Shin in the "public" vote or a nod to her for promotion of her new album. For those who do not know about Kseniya, here is her wiki posting. Lookup her YouTube videos. Truly a great performance artist. Kseniya SimonovaFor those who do not know about Shin, here is his wiki. Lookup his YouTube videos. He twice fooled Penn & Teller. Shin Lim------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a fun side note, my three children went to many of the same schools as Shin went to with my son being several years ahead of him. Also, my two oldest may have had the same piano teacher and performed together with him at a student's concert. I am looking for the old concert program. Shin was training to be a concert pianist before getting carpal tunnel syndrome and switching full time to magic at the age of 20.

So far the same people listed as being in the first show of AGT Champions match with the actual show. The leaks have to be correct as Mel just did a Golden Buzzer for Susan Boyle as was reported. Thus, Jackie will not sing until the fifth show. That means that Jackie will not be shown as performing until the February 4th show. The Finals show is scheduled for February 18th when Jackie was reported to have also sung. That could mean that the first concert Jackie gives with the complete set of the new album songs could be at the February 22nd concert at The Cabot Theater in Beverly, Massachusetts. That would be great as I have tickets for that concert!

Geb, When someone attends an 8 hour taping few things stand out. One who doesn’t care as they are biased isn’t going to recognize the greatness of a vocal performance or it could be bias in favor of other contestants. Her songs aren’t necessarily bombastic as some people want, vocal music tends to not be. That’s why we don’t quote someone who attended a taping on their opinion of her performance.

You must have missed that I said that what is "OK" for one person can be "Great" for another. Music and other arts are in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. Jackie's style of music since she came on the scene has never been "bombastic" in what could be called the traditional meaning when it comes to entertainment. Witness Susan Boyle. A wonderful performance of "Wild Horses" that was effectively "perfect" for the time, the situation, the expectations of the audience and judges. Until we actually see Jackie's performance it is impossible to judge how we personally feel she did when compared to the others performing in her group. Based upon who was in her group, I had thought it was going to be between Jackie, Kseniya and Shin. As noted, it was tough competition with totally different types of entertainment. I like all three so it would be a tough choice and would depend, for me, on who I thought had performed the best this particular evening. We will not know for awhile what song Jackie actually sung to determine first if she performed well and second if it was a good choice of a song to sing. By that I mean, both the audience and the judges most likely had some expectation based upon what they remember of her performances on AGT (and BGT as a guest). Few probably have seen her recently in concert nor listened to her albums. Given that, I personally would have leaned toward a song choice more in line with probable expectations rather than do a song too far from these perceived beliefs. I could have seen singing "The Music of the Night" from The Phantom of the Opera. Jackie usually gives a great performance with sensitivity and it is a song that many people in the audience probably would recognize. Plus, it has the history of why Jackie began to sing. I can think of other songs that I personally liked such as "Caruso". Jackie sung a version of "Caruso" that was around 2:30 in length on The View which would have been the perfect length for AGT. She does it with great feeling and it shows off her voice. It also would have met the probable expectations of every one. There are other songs that can show off her voice and feeling. That is where Susan Boyle's choice of song was brilliant. She played into the expectations and surpassed them.

Your comment is what is a failed attempt of trolling at it's worst, being that it is so obviously idiotic.

Sure Rob, that is why that audience seemed rather pumped after each and everyone of those performances..... must have been drinking a lot of coffee. Might I suggest Rob that you keep this version of yourself over at the other site. I want to see if those leaked reports of Jackie's performance are true, and the audience reaction was truly lukewarm at best.

Instead of making dopey comments go and attend one of these 8 hour taping and let’s see what’s stands out to you. Inevitably you are gonna have a different opinion than the person seated next to you.

So they were told not to be overly enthusiastic towards Jackie? Whatever you say sims. Now to be fair, I'm still a tad skeptical of those leaked reports. So, I'm going to wait and see if those reports are 100% accurate or not. However, last night they seemed dead on.
