Both this one and the other do indeed look horrible. This is extremely poor again. What in hell is going on!? This goes well beyond just the lack of concert promotion!

CONCERT REVIEW
We arrived at the theater just before 7:00 with time to admire the exquisite decor of the historic Fox Theater, now the Martin Woldson Theater and new home of the Spokane Symphony Orchestra, having been restored at a cost of $31 million in 2007. The Fox was built in 1931 for $1 million, and had since gone through changes, one having been to a accommodate a once innovative idea of making it a multiplex cinema in the 70s. The restoration involved uncovering original architectural features and decorative attractions, and revitalizing the faded and deteriorating paint. Peter Keiswalter commented that it was one of the most beautiful and unique theaters he had seen, saying he felt he was "in a different world" (Art Deco) and commended the city of Spokane.
Two Hearts T-shirts and ball caps were available for purchase along with posters and Two Hearts CDs of course. A little girl of 11 or 12 was at the merchandise table while her mother bought a T-shirt. "Do you like Jackie?", I asked. She replied with a big smile, "yeah". "I like her too", I said. My companions and I bought our choices while waiting for the theater doors to open. Upon entering the semi-lit house, the arriving audience was entertained by a slide show of Jackie's history on the large screen. It was very well presented and drew comments (I over-heard) as fans described its significance to those seated next to them. It was a fitting documentary to introduce Jackie to those unfamiliar with her and to remind others of her extraordinary journey. Some new to her were surprised to see her in company with the likes of Robert Redford, Mohammad Ali, Sumi Jo and Jose Carreras, to name a few. Long time fans, apparently, were pleased to point out the events being portrayed, particularly the photos of Jackie as a child, along with her siblings. Also, every song of the concert was enhanced by wonderful visuals on the screen.
In the twenty minutes my companions and I had been seated (Orchestra, row 6, center) the house had filled to about 75% capacity on the lower level. However, I could see the first few rows of those in the balcony standing in ovation during the concert. Knowing this was an eventful weekend with graduation ceremonies and parties, and other celebratory events on a Saturday evening, I was not surprised that it wasn't a full house. Spokane is a spontaneous community not inclined to reserve seating anywhere in great numbers, but preferring to show up at the door taking their chances. So, pre-sales are not necessarily indicative of the final turnout. Jackie has not been promoted in the past and has been an unknown in Spokane. Neither of her PBS concerts had been broadcast. But, last night none of that mattered. Jackie was happy and exuberant. This would be the beginning for some and a night to remember for all who were there.
The lights dimmed and that familiar drum beat heralded Jackie's appearance on stage in her red-carpet black and maroon floral gown, her face glowing with delight and that beautiful smile while receiving an enthusiastic applause as she approached the mic. At that moment I was breathless with anticipation of an evening with Jackie "singing her heart out" just for us. Did she ever!.....
"There was a field in my old town.....In_my_heaart!" A thunderous booom! with the last note, a cheerful round of applause, and the show had begun.
1. Lovers 2. The Way We Were 3. Think Of Me ( several enthusiasts stood in applause, including me) No true fan was embarrassed to stand alone in acknowledgment of a favorite on several occasions.
Jackie's Medley
4. O Mio Babbino Caro (Introducing the beginning of her career) 5. Con Te Partiro (Acknowledging her duet with Andrea Bocelli at this home) 6. Somewhere (Acknowledging her non-live duet with Barbra Streisand ) 7. When You Wish Upon A Star ( reminiscing her "dream" as a child) 8. The Prayer ( Praising David Foster)
// Marriage of Figaro, by Peter Kiesewalter// Enthusiastic applause and amusement at his innovative rendition.
9. Imaginer 10. All Of The Stars 11. The Impossible Dream (Dedication to her mother) (SO)
INTERMISSION
With Peter's announcement, Jackie strolls to center stage in that stunning golden gown with the skin-colored "thingy" that gives one pause for a minute . It's quite captivating at first, but not as much as her voice when she opens the second half with, "oooooh, oooh, ooh, ooh, oooooohh, aaah, ah, aaaahhh....Here I am, I wait for you...."
12. Set Me Free 13. Safe And Sound 14. Somewhere Over The Rainbow 15. Your Love (SO)
//Carmen, by Peter Kiesewalter// Enthusiastic applause
16. How Great Thou Art (Dedication to her grand mother) (SO) 17. Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again 18. Starry, Starry Night (Vincent) 19. Music Of The Night (SO)
(Jackie exits the stage with Peter to an exuberant standing applause and whistles.)
20. Encore: Jackie returns with Nessun Dorma and that bring-the-house-down high note finale. (SO)
Jackie offers a gracious curtsy and kisses to the audience, gives her blessing, and waves to fans old and new as she leaves center stage to finally disappear behind the curtain, and we are left applauding and wanting more.
Her song introductions were well thought out and articulate, sometimes funny and all given with a cheerful enthusiasm. My only criticism of the evening was a somewhat distracting reverberation and feedback in the sound system in the first half, her mic having been set a little high maybe, making her vocals a bit overpowering at times, Some in the rear of the theater said they didn't notice it. It seemed to have been corrected for the second half. But, she also left the mic on its stand freely expressing the music with her hands gracefully as she does. The second half was perfect.
Jackie's performances were exemplary , sincerely emotional as usual, and marked by excellent dynamic control from lyrical finesse to explosive power, at times booming with dramatic expression and then softening with a rich falsetto, making poetry with her music. Jackie still has a beautiful, crystal-clear tone, and has developed a depth in the lower register that melts butter. She is in my opinion nurturing a vocal maturity that is uniquely exquisite, more beautiful than her childhood voice in ways one might expect, given her innate attributes which, by the way, have far outlived the critics' skepticism. She drew tears from even the tough guys in her early years, but now she evokes a different emotion. For me, it's in part a certain gratification and pleasure that comes with experiencing her growth into womanhood while maintaining that splendid tonal quality and interpretive insight that makes her music so personal and intimate. I was breathless at moments with sheer joy at how she captivates. In every respect Jackie is a natural vocalist and performer, but still in the process of discovery and development. She is more self-assured and poised, yet just as humble and gracious as ever, "giving her all" for our pleasure, no matter how many or how few. As it has been said, her live performance is beyond expectation, truly demonstrating her power with pitch-perfect presentation and displaying her grace as a performer as well.
It was a wonderful evening as expected.

lawrence: A review worthy of Jackie's performance! I have seen her once in our little town of Greenville, SC, just before her 15th bday (2/22/2015), and your words describing her performance, even though 4 years later, are as true today as they were back then. Thanks for the review.

Lawrence, Thank you for the wonderful review! I have been looking forward to your review, and you did not disappoint. In another thread a few weeks ago, I asked for anyone that had attended a recent concert and was lucky enough to experience Jackie sing Imaginer with her beautiful mature voice, to give their opinion of how it compared to the version she recorded on the DWM album. There are a few songs she recorded when she was 10 years old that were so well done that I cannot imagine could ever be equaled, two of the songs at the top of this list are Imaginer and Nella Fantasia. SBL concerts recently posted a short video of Jackie rehearsing Imaginer in Spokane, and even though the clip is short, and the audio quality is not very good, it seems that Jackie can still sing it as beautifully, or maybe even better now. If you don’t mind, could you please give me your thoughts on this?

Lawrence, Thank you for the wonderful review! I have been looking forward to your review, and you did not disappoint. In another thread a few weeks ago, I asked for anyone that had attended a recent concert and was lucky enough to experience Jackie sing Imaginer with her beautiful mature voice, to give their opinion of how it compared to the version she recorded on the "Dream With Me" album. If you don’t mind, could you please give me your thoughts on this. Thank you curtis, As she has done on many occasions since DWM/DWMIC, Jackie sang the entire song as it was written, excluding the piano interlude that Conrad Tao had performed so splendidly. Actually, I prefer it, because it is such a beautiful part of the song and completes the meaning. Her performance Saturday night was richer with a fuller tone as you might expect, with a deeper quality in the lower register, warmer, you might say. The delivery was more polished with greater finesse, more powerful, particularly the phrases leading to that high note near the end that she consistently hits with precision. The delicate phrases in the beginning really emoted the sensitivity of the song, gradually building toward the more dramatic last phrases that peak and then drift gently to the series of "ooohs" at the end. They were a little more subdued (softer), consequently not having quite the soothing affect that she evoked at Sarasota, but nonetheless a beautiful conclusion. Of course, every performance has it's own nuances. As always Jackie just sings effortlessly from the heart and pulls you "into her experience", no matter the song. And, Imaginer is especially poignant, as she renders it now. Having listened to the DWM rendition again after the concert, I think Jackie has mastered the song with a more mature sense of connection with its meaning. She has lost nothing in her performance, in my view, but gained a certain strength and confidence that gave it a mature character. Whereas, the beauty of her childhood rendition seemed to rely more upon the extraordinary quality of her young voice, just my observation, of course. Her interpretation is just as moving. Even though the lyrics were written specifically for her, she now has a more intimate understanding perhaps. That was evident to me in her expression. It was wonderful. Jackie remarked after her performance of Lovers that the set list was a compilation of favorites. She said, "These are my favorite songs from all my albums, and I hope some are your favorites too". Imaginer was one of the many exquisite performances of the night. As my guests said of the concert, "It was magical!", "Jackie's voice..Oh my..in this grand theater, what a great experience!"
