I don't think Jackie would go anywhere without Maggie. She has even taken her to concerts...to accompany her on stage. She'll replace all those stuffed bed animals...maybe, and be her apartment guard dog. Doesn't Juliet have a little doggie too? Lots of people have dogs in Manhattan. The question is will Maggie adjust to the move well. I would love to hear that she intends to go to music school at NYU (Jackie, not Maggie ). Yes ursus, lots of people (celebs) have dogs in Manhattan. One cannot toss the doggie doo doo off the balcony if one lives above the sixth floor. I'm pretty sure that's the cut-off. agog is always available to answer any questions about how sophisticated people live.

There was a time when I spoke of this forum as the "swamp" along with most of the JEFC members. Since JEFC was closed I have visited and posted here more often and find it, in some ways, much better then JEFC. There, IMO, seems to be an overall more balanced view taken of Jackie's entertainment business as well as what is publically known about her family and associates. Wherever there is a gathering of people from all walks of life with different views and opinions it is reasonable to expect some disagreement. That seems to be better understood and accepted here then the old JEFC.

How refreshing and enlightening point of view. A life time member has seen the light and agrees the Amazon Forum is not all that bad after all. Rick the President of this forum posts on a daily basis over there.

There is indeed a lot of very useful and interesting information in that forum. The problem is that the signal-to-noise ratio is relatively low. That is, there are also a lot of irrelevant posts between the on-topic posts.

I have my doubts that Jackie bought the apartment as she is a minor. It would require her legal guardian to make the purchase and even then in order for Jackie to have ownership in her name and control over the property, it would need to be placed in a trust agreement. The trust agreement would be held by an attorney until she reaches 18 and then it could be turned over to her to dispose of in whatever manner she chose. At this point, Mike and Lisa would have had to agree and completed the transaction on Jackie's behalf. Therefore I do not think that speculation about a tremendous rift existing between parents and the two daughters aa being very credible. Mike and Lisa may not have been entirely happy with the investment but there must have been some logic to it all which we will likely never know.

If Jackie bought a co-op, she can later on sell that co-op, so it would not be a complete loss. It is true that Jackie would have to have her parents to sign off on her purchasing that property since she is not an emancipated minor at age 17. However, although some here may disagree, I think that her parents have her best interests and not their own selfish interests, so they must think that it is best for Jackie's career and life to move to New York as well as Juliet's best interests. On a side note: I am looking forward to Jackie's concert tonight which I will be attending with family.

Thanks for the brief report, Mike. I hope the hard times aren't too serious. Maybe the same hard times most folks struggle with when they realize they have to make a transition from child to adult? Wow, that's quite the bomb Jackie dropped. It might be she finally realizes how much financially responsibility she has on her shoulders. Something big happened at home for her to suddenly move to NY. She might have had enough of the parents sticking their noses in her career. Could easily be as simple as Jackie knowing she has to part with her boyfriend. Or that she'll miss her two younger sibs. Or she knows she's taking a big step and has some trepidation. Lotta drama in this raw speculation of family conflict.

Jackie makes a statement, and all the drama plays out here. Maybe Maggie doesn't want to go. Sorry, hope I haven't offended anyone.

Something big happened at home for her to suddenly move to NY. It might look sudden to an outside observer, just hearing about it when it's finalized, but hardly likely to have been all that sudden.

Just a thought. The NY apartment may have come about, because the producers of GUE learned from possible sponsors that they'd be more likely to support such a series if it were based in NY. More glamorous. Who would have been interested in "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" in Pittsburgh. Like that.

I hope Jackie has a good tax lawyer. It would be much better to have NYC as her second home, but primary residence in Pittsburgh. Better yet, Florida or Nevada.

After rickolsen's post of the set list, the discussion is in the wrong thread. It has nothing to do with the concert. It should be in "Jackie moving to NYC to work onBroadway?".

Has she even sung a B'way tune?? Jackie has sung Somewhere from West Side Story. All of the Phantom songs are from a Broadway play. Jackie sang Memory from Cats on PTAD. You caught that before I could jump on that. Most of her versions are better (IMHO) than original artist.
