More than likely Juliet wanted to move to New York and Jackie moved to "support" her. She had to have her parents permission to do it. She is still a minor. If she actually bought the apartment I guess it means she is not going to University Of Pittsburgh for college after all. Of course she can always move back home and rent the apartment to Juliet.

Let's not speculate too much. It could be less dramatic and complex than how we are interpreting it. I disagree. It's a drastic move on Jackie's part to suddenly move out of that castle in Pittsburgh to a tiny cramped apartment in the concrete jungle of NY. IMO Jackie had a big blow up with Lisa and her constant sticking of her nose in Jackies career. Lisa's  comment saying f them to the fans might have been the straw that broke the camels back. Jackie spent time last year in New York and to me it is a logical and easy to have predicted step in her career. Nothing sudden about it in my eyes. Jumping to conclusions based on no information is what the news media is for. We should sit back relax and enjoy the ride. Remember that hard times for teen agers seem much more significant then they turn out to be in retrospect.

I think it was Aerosmith who said: There's only one thing that they're good for, eat the rich! Ten Years After, sang; Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no, rich no more. Sort of an early take on Lady Thatcher's observation that "The problem with socialism is sooner or later you run out of other people's money." Lol

Is it possible that Juliet will be the primary resident and Jackie calling it her temporary home until she completes her final year of education and turns 18? I envision Jackie remaining tied to home until the completion of her current year of education then moving to NYC on a more permanent basis. I cannot see her being too far from Mike as he and Lisa are still the legal guardians over her and her career for another 8 months or so. Perhaps she will spend limited time like weekends with Juliet when their careers allow it. I agree. I just can't see Jackie and Jacob living in New York by themselves. I am sure an adult will be close by. I can't imagine Mike allowing this move, they were so protective of Jackie when she became a little well know and now a 17 year old living in New York with her sibling with no parent around, can't imagine it. Maybe Jackie wanted to move against Mike and Lisa wishes but since Jackie brings in the money they had no choice. She could cut of their easy living off of her in the Million dollar mansion so they gave in. Jackie will have to work more to pay the very expensive rent and the mortgage back at home. Maybe she wised up and finally saw how she was the only one bringing home a check and she said things are goin to change! It is Jackie and Juliet that are concerned with living in NYC ......."Jacob" no longer legally exists. Jackie cannot cut off Mike and Lisa from receiving an income from Jackie as they hold the contracts until she is of legal age and even upon reaching 18, Jackie is morally obligated to ensure financial continuity for her parents given that they both gave up their careers to enable Jackie to fulfill her dream. I can't imagine how anyone might think that Jackie harbours any thought of wanting to get away from her parents as soon as possible. The Evanchos appear to be a very close knit family and like any other family, there will be moments of disagreement and differences, however they seem to be very harmonious.

There is this, tinyurl.com/y7ekpgl8but I am having a hard time believing Jackie actually "bought" an apartment, and almost certainly, even if she has it would not have been this one. Jackie's remark that she bought an apartment is more likely a honest misnomer. Well, NY co-ops, which it would have to have been if she bought it, are hugely expensive. Particularly, if they are in "safe" areas, on a high floor with views like this one, and have two bedrooms. Must have cost $1M+. Why didn't she rent first? Or are we to assume she already has a guaranteed NY job? Hello Julia. I think Rob, apparently the forty-ninth in his line, (and long may they prosper) is correct in noting that the apartment pictured is probably not the one Jackie purchased. But who knows? And it's great fun to speculate. Actually I don't think Broadway is the primary reason for Jackie's move. I like to speculate that a steady (twice a month?) gig at The Carlyle, or some such venue might be the NY job Jackie has already lined up. (Probably not, but again, fun to speculate.) The opportunity to associate with top talent, known or aspiring, has got to be a big plus for the Big Apple. Jackie has fans, but more important right now is Jackie has friends.

I can't imagine how anyone might think that Jackie harbours any thought of wanting to get away from her parents as soon as possible. The Evanchos appear to be a very close knit family and like any other family, there will be moments of disagreement and differences, however they seem to be very harmonious. In this age of easy communication, I don't see any reason for this to be taken as evidence that the Evanchos or Jackie's Team is breaking up, however much time Jackie spends at the NY apartment. She said she bought it, so that makes it an investment, rather than an expense. Maybe quite sensible if she has to spend a lot of time in NY- hotels there aren't cheap, either. She did say, "we got lucky", so maybe she got offered a good deal. However, clearly plans have changed since the filming of Growing Up Evancho, for Juliet and Jackie, unless the scenarios depicted in it were fictional. What it means in terms of their personal relationships, we don't know- and speculation about them at this point is pretty gaseous. It does seem to me it means that Juliet and Jackie remain closer than depicted in GUE, which showed them as growing apart. Actions vs. words. But there I go with speculation!

While I couldn't imagine Jackie trying to cut off M&L's income from their services in support of Jackie, I certainly can imagine Jackie wanting to leave the nest a tad bit early. While we fans don't know Jackie's financial details, and quite rightfully so, I think it's safe to assume Jackie is financially very well off. I take comfort that as far as we can tell, Jackie has not given any indications that she is at all foolish with her probably substantial (certainly by agog's measure) wealth. This is a great new chapter for Jackie and for us fans.

Where did you hear that johnnyb? Just speculation on my part, but I think this moving in with Devon really caused a rift between Juliet and Mike. This speculation is possible but if there was issues concerning the relationship with Juliet and Devon then I feel it is something greater and more complex. I believe that Mike is an exceptional parent and has real concern for Juliet who has both transitioned from child to adult and from male to female in a relatively short period of time plus entered into a relationship that would take Juliet out of the family home. Not only is that a lot for a father to deal with for the first time, but is Juliet really emotionally and mentally ready to deal with such a relationship so soon? Smack in the middle of this turmoil is (special/extraordinary) daughter #2 racing down a similar path but with her own distinct potholes in the way. The only bright spot maybe is that Rachel has time yet before she enters the path and Mike may very well be better prepared to manage the process. Am I ever happy that my children were not ones having special baggage to tote as their transition from child to adult was smooth.

I have never met Jackie or any of her family, and all I can base opinions on is what I hear and read. Clearly after seven years as a professional, Jackie is able to hide her true feelings when she wants to. However there are some things which she cannot hide, for example her love for animals.
She appears to know the value of money. We have never seen her buy particularly expensive things (like Zack did recently). For example, the car which she bought is not particularly ostentatious. Thus I would not expect her to buy an apartment in Manhattan without giving it a lot of thought. I personally believe that she has a reason for wanting to move to NYC. It isn't just on a whim. The first two things that come to mind is either she has some steady work lined up or she intends to go to school there. As has been said, there are some things which one cannot do in Pittsburgh.
