When I was young I loved A Thousand Stars by Kathy Young and the Innocents. When I first heard this it blew me away. She should have sung it again on Two Hearts.
BTW, Kathy Young still sings it. .

Born to sing on stage... She is more than 'Just a Girl...' Thank you trebor, You've got that right. These videos are real treasures. This is no ordinary talent. Even in low register, Jackie stays right on pitch which isn't easy to do, especially after jumping to the high notes and back, an example of perfect relative pitch. Also Jackie has impeccable timing and rhythm, knowing/feeling exactly when to come in with the music to start a phrase, when to end a note for the phrase and when and how long to extend a note, acutely aware of the instrumentation. Jackie's sense of rhythm is apparent. She can't help moving perfectly with the music. Furthermore, At age 8/9 Jackie seems to have acquired a natural vibrato. Children at that age generally have no idea what vibrato is, much less have an inclination to use it. It has to be taught. It might be that Lisa coached Jackie in using vibrato. All together, these attributes in addition to other musical assets of hers and the maturity and purity of her voice account for Jackie's having been acknowledged a prodigy.
