Man, I remember that old TFCTalent site. (Yes, I'm the same DFWTexan42 that started many of those threads.) Still in touch with one of the founders of the page. Sadly, the content was lost when it folded.

Mike yelled at the pets on the special and I remember Jackie saying there were dozens of them. Regarding Jackie's pets, I remember seeing this Tweet pic of her new puppy just before Christmas 2011 and thinking, she had an older dog too: "Boo" the older dog and Jackie went way back: The new puppy got the name Maggie and some months went by without mention of Boo, and no other fan asked about Boo. I pulled up the last picture of Boo, taken 11 days before Maggie's Christmas picture: I then realized that in the days just before Christmas 2011 there were some sad days in Jackie's life, followed soon by happy ones. Don It has been obvious for several years that Boo had passed on. I think Don is very close on the timing as I remember when Jackie got Boo shortly before Christmas thinking she was an early Christmas present for Jackie. I did not associate the timing with Boo's possible demise. IIRC, Boo was on the bus road trip to upstate NY, probably Buffalo, when Jackie posted a pic at a rest stop with Boo captioned something like "Boo goes Poo". Someone could ask Jackie about Boo in the future. It's been quite a while and Jackie is much older so she probably wouldn't tear up like she did when the interviewer years ago asked her about the demise of her pet duck, Momo. Boo was a longtime Evancho family pet, probably not Jackie's specifically.

This is an article about "Celebrate America" with Tim Janis and a short interview with Jackie. Lifted from an old fan site. Not sure if it was her first time on TV but probably her first PBS appearance. Don ". . .Viewers will get a deal with when 9-year-old Jackie Evancho sings "Ave Maria." Mr. Janis spotted Jackie, of Richland, singing on YouTube and invited her to carry out a solo spot within the display.
Jackie, whose CD titled "Prelude to a Dream" will probably be launched in November, sings classical crossover, which she describes as "pop sung inside a classical style.
"It's my initial time on Television and I'm truly thrilled," she stated. "I get these butterflies when I'm singing. They're each thrilled and anxious, but I like that feeling." . . .web.archive.org/web/20120106193624/http://jackieevanchos.org/showthread.php?45-High-school-choirs-Celebrate-America-for-WQEDOct. 2009 video:

I post this old email signed Jacob and Jackie about once a year, not because it is dated April 2, 2005. At that time Jacob or Mom likely did the writing not 4-year old Jackie. I does show the compassion toward strangers they were taught at a young age, in this case to a young catholic boy dying of cancer (he recovered). Dear Joey,
My mom told us about you and we visited your website tonight. I'm sorry that you are sick. I hope you feel better some time. I am 6 year's old and my sister Jackie is 4 like you. We felt very sad to learn about your cancer. It must be really scary. We will pray to Jesus for you and maybe some day we might be able to meet and become friends.
Bye Joey.

Sorry, just Jackie's spoken intro to the audition tape she sent to the Ellen show, per my earlier post: jackieevanchofans.proboards.com/post/20399/threadI found it on the internet using Google. I think it was good that Jackie was not discovered that early, as she had not developed that "big booming voice" (lower register) that was so commented on during AGT. Password is Ellen. Don

I wonder what would have happened if Jackie was discovered on The Ellen Show, rather than AGT? At first they said yes, maybe it never happened due to AGT: Probably a big nothing - I've watched Ellen enough and think all she's interested in are "cute kids" - nevermind any perceived talent. She might've been on once or twice and all that would've accomplished would've been the proverbial fifteen minutes of fame before she then reverted back to total obscurity. Shows like AGT and even David Foster would then have been discouraged from using her because she would've already been on Ellen. Have any of the other children featured on Ellen gone on to accomplish anything? Yes. Alma's YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/AlmaDeutscher

Alma's YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/AlmaDeutscherI believe that David Foster would have had a more direct involvement with promoting Jackie and likely have taken credit with discovering her and revealing her talent to the general public. He did actually meet her at one of his talent discovery events before AGT. Quite probable that Sony would not have been in the picture at all leaving the door wide open for David.
Perhaps this clip of Jackie and David prior to AGT is an omen of a potential different path to discovery.............

Jackie must have signed up for the Hitman Talent Search that September. David Foster was looking for the next vocal superstar, and placed a few contestants on each of his shows. If she had won (she was second to Christopher Dallo?) she would have gone on to the finals on the Vancouver show the following month, November. If she had won that, she would have been part of the 2010 tour. I think Foster was really looking for older winners; most winners were late teens and twenties. He said (about Jackie at nine): "Hard to take an eight year-old seriously". This is the first comment about Jackie on the HWI Forum, posted by Nicola, the forum's Admin, on Aug 28,2009, in response to an email Lisa had sent her. Aug 28, 2009 at 7:12am Hey guys, Jackie's mother, Lisa, e-mailed me through my website to tell me about her. She has an album out in November She is just nine years old, and I think you guys might like her. She has only been singing for 18 months. Here is a video of her singing 'O Mio Babbino Caro' acapella (I think she was eight there). You can visit her official site: www.jackieevancho.org/Which links to her Myspace and Youtube channel, etc. hwi.proboards.com/thread/4935/jackie-evancho?page=1

Jacob and Jackie Evanchowww.joeytubo.com/blog_old_backupfiles/messages/240.htmlI've posted this video before, as well. Illustrates the same thing. d.keek.com/keek/YZlpcabI was thinking about posting this letter while I was posting the link to HWI forum. But I was having a hard time finding it, and had decided to look for it today. AND HERE IT IS. Thanks for posting this small, but wonderful example of the kind of parenting Mike and Lisa provided for their children. The mean spirited here, like anonymous, rickky, cer, and Julia, ARE ALWAYS posting snide remarks attacking the character of Jackie, and her family. This is obviously because they are lacking the moral character traits Mike and Lisa instilled in their children.
