I wonder how close Jackie was to the latest Muslim looney? I couldn't help but think she and the others could easily be at the huge NYC Halloween doings though if they were still there and not back at home for their favorite holiday.

I thought about that, but to ease my mind, I convinced myself she was at home with the rest of her family, since Halloween has always been a really big deal in her family.

From the outside looking in and with no contact whatsoever with any of the Evanchos, it appears to me that while Jackie may have bought an apt in NYC, Juliet and her beau are the only ones residing there full time.

I came across this reaction posted four days ago. The man's expressions say more than he could have articulated, fully immersed in her performance. Those were days of wonderment and of inexplicable joy in a child's gift to the world, perhaps never to be experienced again in Classical Crossover.
Translation at bottom of screen

A tad OTT, but she did sing it quite well.

I had not seen that reaction video until now. I agree that his expression said it all and the moisture in his eyes said he was not far from openly shedding. It was mentioned that this performance by Jackie was a "bit OTT" --- not at all --- it would have been through the roof if it had not been an open air LIVE concert. Not many vocalists could have performed that well outside of a studio let alone a young child. Just OUTSTANDING.

JE's performance wasn't the OTT part of my post....the gent's response to it was the OTT part.

cer,
This is the "Nostalgia" thread, created for those who wish to post their remembrances of the early days and the emotions felt at a time when Jackie and her music touched the hearts and minds of thousands, often in profound and personal ways. Countless people have remarked that Jackie's music was a gift for whatever reason they felt appreciative. Perhaps you can't relate to "wonderment" (a state of awed admiration or respect) or "inexplicable joy" with regard to Jackie, but those emotions were genuine among her audiences and ought to be respected.

You do realize this is one of the reasons Jackie is having problems because you people refuse to let the little girl image go. Jackie is "NOT THAT GIRL" anymore. Jackie will be 19 in April, "The Debut" of Jackie the adult.

I don't think many real fans and admirers of Jackie would disagree that she is no longer a child, that is why many of us took this bus ride; just to find out how this journey to adulthood would turn out. THIS THREAD is about looking back at what prompted us to get on the bus in the first place.
"You do realize" that Jackie's difficulties are not the result of fans refusing to let the little girl image go, it is more the result of her having difficulties adjusting to adulthood after having a non conventional teenage life. Detractors are a greater stress factor for her than fans that enjoy all of her career so far.

By the way, we already have a place to post these older videos.

You're right about that cer, no matter how much Jackie tells people that she's sick of being thought of a little girl here comes another one living in the past.

This is the Nostalgia thread, created in mid 2017 specifically for the purpose of presenting these videos from the past. That's why it is titled Nostalgia, cer. Neither of you have objected to it until now, when suddenly you're self-righteous, protecting Jackie against "you people". Peddle your "obsessive" ridiculing somewhere else, and take your crusade to where it does some good, and confront those who have done real harm; the religious fanatics (angel worshipers) on YouTube, the stalkers, pedophiles, bullies, and the teens who wouldn't befriend her. And look in the mirror also. You think it doesn't affect Jackie when you continually bad-mouth her parents, supposing you have her better interest in mind. When has it been in any child's interest to denigrate her loved ones?
Keep your coats on. It's drafty up there on your high horses.
