In honor of the (imperiled) Civil Rights Act - signed 53 years ago today. And now all have the right to go to jail if we build enough they will come Unfortunately, jails & prisons are very expensive to build & especially to run. It would behoove us to keep people out of them if we can, e.g. by treatment for drug addiction as an alternative in suitable cases.

I believe if here not legal and breaks a law bad enough to go to jail he should be sent to his country for jail time and we pay for it there . we save money , here they don't mind our jails at all as they have a good time here

I post this video on Jackie's fan forum on American Independence day because the presenter describes the travails of ocean passage endured by immigrants to our shores circa 1750. It is in the first ten minutes of this thirty-three minute offering.
After the ocean passage portion, the presenter, Stefan Molyneaux, goes into Libertarian philosophical principles which the listener may or may not agree with. As I am not a Libertarian, Mr Molyneaux's politics is not what I wish to advamce by this posting.
Please reflect on, at least, the first ten minutes.

Yup, got my chill! Well done, and somebody did a nice arrangement for them, interesting but restrained, dignified.

I really love it when great things come from people who get together to create beauty mixing tradition and originality. A little love helps too

I'm not so sure about the "good time" here, though.

The Country cannot be great again, because the Country was never great. Only God is Great! However, as President Bush said the other day, we can be a kinder and gentler country.

Makes you wonder why there are far more jails and prisons than schools and colleges doesn't it? Hint; money buys politicians in the Citizens United world we live in.

Makes you wonder why there are far more jails and prisons than schools and colleges doesn't it? Hint; money buys politicians in the Citizens United world we live in. Everyone that pursues power is subject to being corrupted. The more perfect they pretend to be, the harder they fall. But the numbers of prisons compared to schools (except there aren't really more prisons, if you count K-12 schools, or trade schools and community colleges, unless you're also counting overnight county lockups) reflects the ratio of people willing to commit crimes compared to those willing to apply themselves to learning useful skills.
