So often when I re-visit videos of Jackie's performances and interviews in her early years, I am again overwhelmed by the "Jackie Effect", and reminded of how special she was in so many ways. And yet, she is just as delightful as a teen and as awesome with her maturing voice. We as fans are truly fortunate to have witnessed those formative years of Jackie's life and the development of her career from her first appearance in the little red dress to the present as she performs Set Me Free in her elegant classical attire. I'm never forgetful that to me it is a privilege and has given special, ineffable meaning to these, my latter years.
There has been more than any teenager's due of controversy about Jackie, and there have always been the haters, which is expected of superb talent and celebrity. Jackie has endured with apparent dignity and confidence, which has increased my admiration. This is a unique experience, particularly memorable and one to be treasured. I've never felt ashamed or embarrassed that I have in a way lived somewhat vicariously through Jackie's adventure of pursuing her "dream". It's with a sense of pride that, like many others, I feel an affinity for Jackie because of what she represents to me as an artist. I've been fortunate to have had several talents and capabilities myself. But, I never possessed that vision and determination toward something undeniable within me as that which has guided Jackie toward what seems a destiny.
I may be criticized as overly passionate, but nothing of such can deter my enthusiasm as a fan. It seems that if one has not been moved to tears or held in breathless wonder of what to me is sublime in that voice, my exuberance cannot be understood or appreciated. I speak only for myself, but I'm certain this forum would not exist if it weren't for Jackie's having brought something extraordinary and inexplicable into all our lives.

COMING HOME
"Coming Home Part 2" is another one of Jackie's gems, in my opinion. It hasn't received much attention, hardly any mention of it here, but I find it very gratifying. Jackie delivers this sweet melody basically A Capella throughout the entire piece, demonstrating her natural ability to carry a song with perfect relative pitch. It is a song that invites repeated listening to fully appreciate the nuances of Jackie's virtuosity.
The accompaniment is only suggestive for the first half of the song. With a relatively soft drum beat, repeated piano chords followed by a light arpeggio and a few raps on a snare drum; the instrumentals simply add character, while light strings undulate subtly behind the melody. With a steady beat of unobtrusive percussion and the snare, Jackie begins the driving message of the song with her single voice harmony and carries it through with conviction. Then she innovates with her multi-layered voices building the crescendo which is augmented by one soaring above the rest rising to a peak. With a constant beat and lilting strings, she brings the song and the melody powerfully but gradually to a soft and comforting conclusion.
Jackie performs this song with a sense of reassurance and faith. The pure quality of her voice seems the silver lining of back-lit clouds bringing hope in a drama of tragedy and recovery. It is sung from the heart as always, an offering of Jackie's special remedy for those who have suffered. As other veterans may attest, "Coming Home" reveals that Jackie, by virtue of her voice, is a sincere and healing influence.

For me "Coming Home Part 2" is a song about and for military personnel of all nations. It hasn't received the attention of the general public because it is something they cannot or perhaps don't want to relate. It almost seems it could have been primarily focused about Vietnam Vets. Even though I'm an ex Canadian Armed Forces person, the Vietnam Vets were the most shabbily treated group of military troops ever received home by their countrymen. If this song is truly about and for military personnel then I believe the Vietnam Vets are the most deserving of the message and beauty of this rendition performed by a really caring performer...Jackie Evancho.

Bliss There are times while perusing comments that I come upon a few that leave me feeling anxious, even angry. I think of Jackie, the superb artist she is, who needs to sing as much as to breath it seems, who brings such joy to her audiences with pure dedication, who can bless one with peace and tears in the same instant. Any disparagement of her is painful, particularly when it is feebly rationalized as a "realistic opinion". An experience may be a warm comforting connection with something sublime and inexplicable, while an opinion is cold and calculated, easy to conjure up as an excuse to be critical. The irony is that any song from Jackie's repertoire offers a reprieve. When I close the laptop, whatever has disturbed me simply no longer exists, has no reality. What is real but the moment and what one chooses to make of it? For the time I choose to be alone meditating on that exquisite voice, I am captured in wonderment at what this young lady has brought into the world just for my pleasure. Her song brings me back to bliss, and I am thankful to be living for a time in the presence of the incomparable Jacquelin Marie Evancho.

I don't drink tea, pal. I listen to Jackie's music to relax, guess you didn't get that part. This is a Jackie' fan forum. Should I have mentioned some other fine older singer I listen to so I might appear more down to earth to you? My admiration of Jackie really gets you in a twist, doesn't it.

She does not care for over the top comments as her own words " just a girl " , she does not want a silly pedestal but some just do not care to listen to her wishes , they are just twisted minds
