I'm thrilled that Little Drummer Boy will be on the CD. It's been my favorite Christmas song since before Jackie was born...since before Lisa and Mike were born. I like any passable version of it, some with choirs. Even the Bing Crosby/David Bowie version wasn't all that bad. For many years now I've listened to Charlotte Church's version every year. It's excellent. I even had the video of the performance in Jerusalem, until it went the way of all magnetic tape. Wouldn't a video by Jackie be great? Zach's too grown up now, but maybe a young cousin could be the Drummer Boy in a video. Not Mike E. on the drum kit they have in their house, though that could be a funny parody.

Hey, guys! There's an update on the track listing now! Amazon has included a 12th track! Disc: 1 1. Someday at Christmas 2. Do You Hear What I Hear? 3. Guardian Angels - Plácido Domingo & Jackie Evancho 4. Little Drummer Boy 5. It Came Upon a Midnight Clear 6. Pie Jesu from Requiem - Plácido Domingo & Jackie Evancho 7. Christmas Waltz 8. Hallelujah - Peter Hollens feat. Jackie Evancho 9. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) 10. O Holy Night - Vittorio Grigolo 11. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas 12. Little Drummer Boy - Jackie Evancho feat. Il Volo
Now, this is a surprise! It should be interesting, too, with Jackie singing with Il Volo....they're terrific Italian singers -- young guys not all that much older than Jackie, actually. Hm..... Italian.... I wonder if this means the song will be sung in Italian? COOOL!!!!

WOW, that's a wonderful surprise. Even though I have heard most of the songs here before. I have to say that the album is compiled in a manner in which the duets are simply fantastic.

Is this album available at Walmart or is it Amazon only? On Amazon it is $16.92 with shipping and tax and I don't want to pay that much. I got my Awakening plus EP at Walmart for $9.97 plus tax. Amazon's price on this Christmas CD is outrageous.

Rick, right now all we can see is the online retailers like Amazon giving the preliminary info... My guess is that when we get closer to the actual release time there will be many more retailers, both brick-and-mortar stores and online stores, offering it on their store shelves as part of their Christmas display, as it IS going to be available as a CD. I am hoping that it will also be available as a digital download through iTunes and Amazon, too. I plan to buy in both formats. My guess is that both Walmart and Target will have it on their shelves along with Barnes and Noble (B&N) when we get closer to the time of release and store display of holiday albums. . It's still early days yet, though.....
As far as pricing, unfortunately we, as customers, have no control over that and it will be up to each retailer to determine the price....some may indeed charge more than others. The customer has the option of going to the place which offers the album at the price which is most acceptable to him or her.

I wish Once Upon a December was on this album. It's not a Christmas song, but it could be said to be a seasonal song - and it needs to be on a CD.

I heard Jackie sing "Once Upon a December" at one concert -- don't recall which one it was now -- and it is a lovely song, indeed. I would love to have it on an album some time!

I think the "Hallelujah" duet with Peter Hollens has a particular appeal because it is different from just another singer doing another solo of it with orchestral or acoustic accompaniment.....the a cappella approach is somewhat trendy and popular now, and that is the drawing-card for some people. At this point Amazon has not yet made a digital download option available for this album, so until they do people would be able to buy it only on CD. iTunes hasn't started listing it yet, either. I imagine both will offer digital downloading when it gets closer to the time of actual release; it's still kind of early days yet. I will be buying in both formats. I have to admit that I much prefer Jackie's solo "O Holy Night" to the virtual duet she did with Vittorio Grigolo..... Somehow IMHO that song just doesn't seem to lend itself all that well to the duet format. I'm looking forward to hearing both "Someday at Christmas" and "Little Drummer Boy"! I also prefer Jackie's solo version of OHN. I think the song can work as a duet, but Vittorio & Jackie were using very different approaches & they didn't blend all that well (JMHO!). E.g., Vittorio used operatic vibrato, relatively wide & present throughout the note, while Jackie used a more pop technique, where she began with a steady tone, then added vibrato as the note went on. It was almost like they didn't listen to each other, or didn't discuss how they were going to sing it, before they laid down their tracks. Since Jackie has used both techniques & I've never heard Vittorio use anything other than operatic technique, I always assumed that Jackie did her recording 1st & Vittorio added his later, but I don't know that for sure. JMHO! I'm looking forward to several of these! Love LDB.

I'm wondering how long the release of the new Christmas album will delay the release of her new independant album/EP. Obviously she can't release them both at the same time so I'm sure it will be delayed until sometime next year. I wish they would give us some information about this so we would know.

No doubt about delaying until sometime in 2017. Hopefully this will give her a chance to make it the best album possible.

Why can't both albums be released at the same time? Colt45, it is never a good idea to compete with yourself.

Great cover, my favorite of all the cover art. Jackie looks elegant, but still like the teenager she is. I know they could have easily made her look like a thirty year old, wisely opted not to do that. She smiled just like that when I had my M&G.
