Jackie's critics always said she'd have a short career, would DEFINITELY ruin her voice by age 15, & on & on & on. Where are they now? I can't hear them! LOL. No doubt the same place where all the trolls decrying her singing for the inauguration will be in a scant few months (or even weeks)!

I peeked at Amzn this AM, & there are still lots of the usual troll crowd running her (& each other) down. They're literally invested in Jackie's failure, as if their lives depended on her fading away. Sorry, she's not. No wonder I've mostly been avoiding it lately. Now I feel like I have to take another shower, LOL.

I know a number of members here also participate there, but the vitriol for Jackie and her family plus the down right disrespectful back and forth between the people there is alarming. I keep hoping to find some new information or another Jackie tid bit but it's hard to find anything of value in all the personal attacks and snarky remarks.

Yes, Amazon is downright frightening. Too rough a crowd for me. But it is how I found out about this forum.

Her searches went up after the inauguration was announced, but what do people talk about there? How quickly searches fell off again. I see nothing wrong with criticizing Jackie or TeamE when I don't like what they've done, but all some there care about is seeing her fail. They seem invested in it. I admit I don't "get" anti-fans. Why would you spend ANY time on a discussion site about an artist you don't like? All you want to do is go negative on the artist & everyone else on the site? Huh? Get a life. Or find a site about an artist you actually like. At one time, pa1189 would post Jackie vids with audio cleaned up (he's an audio engineer) on Amzn. Lisa didn't like it, but the fans did. I think he moved to Hong Kong, though, & doesn't post any more. The mutual attacks seem endless.

These people can attack as much as they like. Their attacks have no effects whatsoever. As a result of the announcement, Facebook likes have increased, Youtube subscriptions and views have increased at a stunning rate, and twitter and Instagram followers have increased. It is thus safe to say that thankfully, the preposterous hate speech that the anti-fans are spewing are of minimal effect. These anti-fans are just wasting their time, which is seemingly not of any worth at all, judging by the fact that they have nothing else of worth to do with it. Let's not waste our time on these people, by giving them attention. By doing s,o we are only giving them more reason and more thrill to attack Jackie. Let's stop visiting the amazon site. This will hopefully cause it to degenerate into a platform with low viewership rates.

I've been neglecting this thread and can't believe I've not posted here until today. I went to the most concerts during the SFTSS tour. Jackie came to California more often back then. I didn't go to the taping of MOTM, though it was only a 40 min. drive. I'd been to a DWM concert and thought I wouldn't like the movie songs. I know--dunce cap for me. Then, I saw a vid of MHWGO and have been kicking myself ever since. MOTN is my favorite, followed by Se. Some Enchanted Evening I really liked right away. I've said the black dress she wore for second half at a lot of those concerts should be in the Smithsonian. The Summer Knows, I think, showed that Jackie could be a jazz singer if she wanted. It's interesting, people to whom I introduced Jackie's music at that time really liked Come What May.

I edited my post on the previous page, but think maybe it deserves its own new post.
There are plenty of Jackie's obsessed critics over at Amzn. See above in this thread. But my points about their predictions of a short career & a ruined voice stand. There have been no disasters.
Her voice is getting more beautiful & powerful as she grows up. Over the past year & 9 months, she's sung with Andrea Bocelli (the top-selling classical artist in the world & one of Jackie's idols from a young age) twice [edit: thrice, in Thailand, Malaysia & Italy] & for the Pope's visit in Philadelphia. She's continuing to tour successfully. She's singing the Star Spangled Banner at the upcoming presidential inauguration. (And no doubt I'm forgetting other highlights...)
The Christmas album she just released maintained her string of #1's on the Billboard classical chart & even made it to #19 on the Top 200 main album chart. That's despite the facts that (1) only 3 numbers were actually new, & (2) it had an incorrectly engineered "chipmunk" Hallelujah track. She'll have another album, with originals, out in the spring. Others have pointed out how her views, likes & searches have risen.
There are thousands & thousands of singers & other musicians who would LOVE to have Jackie's "failing" career & "ruined" voice! LOL!

Even worse for you, MHWGO was one of the two or three she had to repeat for some reason, so we who were there got to hear her sing it TWICE! (Another was the duet form Tangled with Jacob and I forget what the probable third one was.)

Along with DWM her SOTSS has become one of my favorites. I especially am drawn to her interpretation of Se on the Today Show. This video of Jackie singing Se has always been my "gold" standard for this song. I have always been impressed with her interpretation of this "classic"

I was looking for another interview - a blissful and engaging one she and her dad did around this same time with a very reverential interviewer, but this one done before taping her Music of the Movies PBS Special was as close as I could get to it. (The one I had in mind might have been deleted). I couldn't agree more with the top comment from three years ago.
Jackie chose this song as one of her two favourites - Music of the Night. Many of her live in the studio performances in front of small audiences are masterpieces. Here she looks and sounds out of this world.

SFTSS and MOTM were the first CD and video I purchased after finding her on youtube in August of 2012. They are special to me and contain some of her best work.
