I searched for the most recent youtube vid of a soprano performing at Cafe Carlyle and found this of Lea Salonga
This video is more recent and shows more of the venue, but I've never heard of the soprano.

Maybe some of her show will make it onto you-tube. We can hope anyway.

I searched for the most recent youtube vid of a soprano performing at Cafe Carlyle and found this of Lea Salonga ... This video is more recent and shows more of the venue, but I've never heard of the soprano. ... If those are typical of the acts at the Café Carlisle, Jackie has nothing to worry about. Laura Benanti has obviously had operatic training, but her voice is merely OK (JMHO!). As a fan of the new Supergirl TV series (remember, it's TV, it's SUPPOSED to be stoopid!), I know her as Kara/Supergirl's dead mother, who appears as a computer hologram. She also played the mother's sister, now dead as well. [Edit: I should have said ordinary broadcast TV is supposed to be stoopid; lots of TV these days, on cable, the web & even occasional the occasional broadcast (e.g. Breaking Bad), can be very good.] As far as whether Jackie has anything to worry about, she says she's always nervous before performances, & small audiences scare her more than big ones. The Carlyle is small & intimate. She says her stage fright helps her perform better. I sorta hope she worries a bit, LOL...

Well, I was trying to be nice about it through omission, but I concur mostly with what's been said here. Jackie should blow them away at this joint. I'm sure, though, that Lea Salonga can still perform at a high level if needed. This was a light song and that's the treatment she gave it. Mainly I was trying to show what it would look like when Jackie performed there. This is a unique opportunity for fans.
Offtopic: can't get HYEBIL out of my head.

HYEBIL by Jackie is the most intimate, tender song I've ever heard. My reaction was to the other singer (second video) I should have mentioned that. I only listened to a short segment before I was immediately unimpressed. Lea was ok, just didn't measure up to Jackie. Thanks for posting though to let us see the room. It looks creative and artsy.

O Glee her first song, auditioning at school while Rachel, Lea Michelle, was singing the same song, 'NY State Of Mind' at NYATA. Most excellent. Melissa is an actress she acts. Did you know she did a full frontal on 'Homeland'. On Marc Wahlberg's movie 'Patriot' about the Boston Marathon bombing, she played the part of one of the terrorists wife. Where's the outrage ? I wish one time Jackie would stand up and say I am a singer, I sing. My job is to sing. I will sing at the inauguration, for the Russians, for the Japanese, wherever the mic leads. Now she will sing in Metropolis at a place with questionable art work.

Yes, she's an outstanding actress. Jeremy Jordan, who plays Winn, is also a singer & musical theater performer. I knew about the Homeland part, but haven't seen the Boston Marathon movie. I miss the inside jokes they used to have on Supergirl, like the sisters taking about watching Homeland & Cat (Calista Flockhart) complaining she'd NEVER date anyone like Harrison Ford.

Isn't that right, wayne? y'all know I come from the sticks, you know with backyard pond and my big dog and horse? I do lay myself bare, sometimes. We call it Artsyf.rtsy.

Personally, I'd hope for some "supervision" from Mike et al if they interacted. Jackie may impress some Manhattan bigwig types with this gig. Who knows? Maybe it'll even open doors on Broadway.
