Jackie has three sold out concerts coming up and a couple more that are almost sold out. If memory serves she hasn't had a sell out in at least four years. She really got a good boost from the inauguration. Things are looking up.

There is a poster at Amazon who poo poos Jackie's live show. She calls it the Karaoke Show. I admit I used to do the same thing there. I was convinced Jackie's dropping attendance was because of the karaoke aspect of her show. I was wrong. I have seen Jackie live three times, twice with a full orchestra, and once with just Peter and backing tracks. There wasn't even live strings. I enjoyed this show the most of the three I have attended.
When I was at Merrilville I guesstimated there were only about 300 in attendance. I was appalled. I think part of the problem of Jackie's dwindling audiences were lack of promotion and going to the same places too soon again. It's a big country and there are many places she has never been. I think she should go to some of those.
I do wish she would get rid of the annoying video screen. There wasn't one used at Merrilville and I was glad.

I think Jackie's new album needs to be released as a CD, not just a digital download. They could do the Amazon CD-R press to order like they did with Together We Stand or Sony could press it for mass release to stores like Walmart and Barnes & Noble. What do you think?

I prefer a physical CD. Maybe because I grew up with vinyl, and like something real. (And I started computing with punched cards

I have problems with every digital download I have tried. I want a disc in my hand.

I started with 7" Floppies and punch tape and acoustic date couplers at 300 baud! One of these? That's it! Do you have anything to read it on. What size is that one? 360K? I have some old 3 1/2" that I can no longer access unless I buy a USB drive.

I measured it as 7.5 inches, but it is described as 8 inches on google. Capacity depending on age is 80 KB to 1,212 KB. I don't have a reader, but there is one on ebay for $70. I believe they are still used in ICBM missile silos, because upgrading would be too expensive.

8" floppy? Hard sectors or the later ones using soft sectors? I don't care about a physical CD, as I just convert them to MP3s anyway so I can have them on my Android devices, Chromebook and in the car. If they wanted to issue them on a flash drive, that would be cool... who needs a spinning motor and LED laser, they just consume more power?

In the 90s I had to stop work 30 mins. early so I could back up data on the 3" floppies. It took ten of them. I wrote the date on the labels and kept them in a shoe box.

Since this is is the policy, then WHY is this in the Controversial sub-forum? The other non-political "controversial" topics already seem to have their own threads, so what's been left out??? Or am I missing something?

Since this is is the policy, then WHY is this in the Controversial sub-forum? The other non-political "controversial" topics already seem to have their own threads, so what's been left out??? Or am I missing something? As I've said before, the Evanchos have made politics a part of Jackie's career. They've tried to be balanced about it, but politics have always been there, from working with Jane Orie to the movie with Robert Redford, from singing for Obama twice to the Juliet bathroom lawsuit & the Trump inauguration. It'd be difficult to completely avoid politics given the decisions they've made. But we try to put these discussions on the controversial issues board. Unfortunately, we've repeatedly gotten in trouble when people post their strong political opinions. One side always seems to get p****d off at the other side, & we get unending conflict. The potpourri thread was originally created for Amzn refugees who wanted to come here. It could be a mixed bag, one thread instead of many, like they were used to. We'll see how well it works.

jamesn, Maybe it's here just in case someone gets unruly (again), keeping it out of the public eye.
