I have an intense dislike of Blank Space and I hope that Jackie will not release it on an album.

We may feel slightly disappointed about songs being left out. But given the volatile political climate, I feel that it is the right thing to make the album as politically correct as possible. Does anyone know any of the songs which were left out? I am not convinced that the issue is political correctness - were the songs political in nature? I doubt it. It it is a case of boycott, then how far will it go?

I was panicking, too. But the Pittsburgh concert has about 950 seats sold, which is on the low end, but not too far off what she has sold since Awakening. It's a large venue, so the seat map looks worse than it would at a 1200 seat venue.

Maybe All of the Stars would be iffy for some and Coming Home II for others. I really wish everybody could just get along! It will be interesting to see how April and early May will be for concerts right after the album is released. She will probably be doing a lot of talk show promoting...at least I hope so.

I said in her facebook and twitter accounts that they were attacking the wrong person. Jackie is non-partisan. Feelings are strong with this election, perhaps the most in decades. She got caught up in the storm that is brewing. It's a shame that we will never hear the songs she worked on and collaborated with.
Yes, indeed. I find that the most disappointing thing I've heard since I've been on this forum. Can only imagine how she must feel. It is as I feared... Jackie has taken a far greater hit over the inauguration than some nasty remarks on the internet. Her treasure trove of show business contacts has, in some part, diminished. Professional and maybe to her, personal relationships, gone. Songs, perhaps finished ones in the can for Two Hearts, will never be heard. Could be she had to scramble to come up with replacements for Two Hearts. No wonder she has been busy. It's a wonder she can still present that cheerful mien.
School, maybe even the boy-friend, could be casualties. That's speculation, but judging from the internet reaction, the in-person hostility may have been worse than for the trans-gender thing. If it was me, taunts of "traitor" would be harder to take than "gay".
edit add: I guess she left it unclear whether it was collabs or covers that were lost for Two Hearts. I doubt that Coming Home and All of the Stars were left out for PC, though- AOTS isn't at all controversial without the video, and CH got no backlash except from a few outliers. Far more likely a copyright/permission issue, or just the Team's choice.

I am going to the Seattle concert. If her new album will have songs to be replaced maybe she will introduce other songs off the completed album to entice the audience. Boy I hope so!

I sense a disturbance in the force. Compare the KDKA interview with Jackie's repost (on 24 Dec) of the 'Call to Arms' which was shared 24,000 times on an influential facebook page, leading to the massive upswing on Amazon and the subsequent media frenzy. That sequence of events was recorded here: jackieevanchofans.proboards.com/thread/493/appearance-jan-2017-presidential-inauguration?page=7The current situation could potentially blow up along similar lines, and again the result could be good or bad. Some relevant points: 1. The political buy-in to the issue is not as relevant as in December, so less chance of a blow up. But passions are still running high, so not impossible. It depends on if the issue is picked up on an influential social media page or channel. There are many actors who could initiate that. 2. Jackie has indicated that she proceeded with the Inauguration performance in part because of the support of her fans. That complicity will influence the reaction of the fan base if the issue takes hold. 3. At this time the interview on www.facebook.com/CBSPittsburgh/?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE&fref=nfis 17 hours old, and has been viewed 16K times and shared 24 times. Like last time at this point: 1. the approach may be to wait and see what happens next, if anything. 2. the sequence of events (if there is one) should be accurately recorded, because misreporting would again be rife. I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, so I don't think this is a planned exercise. I do think this is an unstable situation that could come to nothing, or to a lot. Any thoughts?

Jackie's latest interview: this clip and the attached clips are some of the best representations of some of Jackie's performances. I love the acoustics and the audience participation.

I can't think that Jackie meant all music should be separate from politics. Songs with a political message are a solid tradition in our culture. But some music is just music - or with a message not involving politics. For that, musicians should be able to work together regardless of their views. Can you imagine an orchestra where everybody has the same opinions?

Yet she definitely expressed displeasure with North Carolina's stance on the bathroom issue and vowed to never hold a concert here. Never is a long time. She couldn't possibly be still in that frame of mind, I'd like to think.

OK, maybe I was wrong and there is a plan to the current sequence of events. Mainstream media picking it up now. The rhythm of these events seems quite deliberate, Sony marketing doing its job? As long as the result is: a. Jackie is happy with the outcome, and b. I get to hear more of her amazing voice, I will be happy.

Maybe playing two opposite and polarizing issues against each other - brilliant! (but what do I know. Fun to watch though!)
