Why did they use a 7 year old video? Plenty of more recent stuff out there. Great question!? Either they are too lazy to find a more current video or some folks just can't let Jackie finally grow up. Or, they think that's Jackie's Unique Selling Proposition and the only reason the general public might remember her and perhaps buy a ticket.

I suspect a little of both, concert attendees may be shocked, in a good way, if that is who they expect to be performing. Hopefully now that Jackie is an adult, she'll insist on more current media for concerts.

I don't have a big problem with Jackie's PR mentioning "the little girl in the red dress on agt who blew everyone away." That still is how most people would connect Jackie with the young lady appearing soon in their hometown. At this time it is still the most memorable event in Jackie's career for the general public. We active posters on this site and the Amz revisited site and chatzy are a miniscule group, probably 50 or less who post twice a month or more.<-----WAG alert! Jackie's PR and the way her career has been handled so far is a regular topic among posters here and in the former forums. There are legitimate gripes about what seems to us to be opportunities missed, overlooked and simply ignored. Until Jackie releases an album on the level of DWM, with the attendant TV morning show appearances that would it generate, her triumph at AGT will remain the gateway to Mr and Mrs Public's recollection of Jackie. For better or worse AGT is what Jackie has to work with to trigger a memory in the public mind.Hopefully now that Jackie is an adult, she'll insist on more current media for concerts. "Hopefully now that Jackie is an adult, she'll insist on more current media for concerts." I'm sure with you on that Rick158. Oh, glad to note you got a Sopwith Camel rating on your ticket.

They stated their purpose for using old video-
"Let's combine two of our upcoming events for a few minutes today. Dayton Philharmonic welcomes young Jackie Evancho in just a few weeks (April 27 and 28), and Dayton Opera prepares for Turandot in May. Here is Jackie singing the most famous aria from this gorgeous opera"
They made the connection from Jackie's only song from Turandot to their production.

I guess I should pay more attention to the text and less to the pictures... squirrel!

I for one realized that but thought that the original poster here thought that a more recent version of Jackie singing Nessun Dorma would be better. There are many videos on line of her singing it since she reintroduced into her repertoire a couple of years ago.

www.sidneydailynews.com/features/lifestyle/102015/evancho-to-sing-in-daytonEvancho to sing in Dayton
DAYTON — The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will perform with guest artist Jackie Evancho, April 27 and April 28, 2018 at 8 p.m. in the the Schuster Center in downtown Dayton. Tickets for “An Evening with Jackie Evancho” range from $29 to $79 and are available at 937-228-3630 or online at www.daytonperformingarts.org. Evancho’s meteoric rise is already a show business legend. YouTube video stardom led to her spectacular, against-the-odds appearance on America’s Got Talent in 2010 that delivered the heat and the promise of a new star, in a luminous performance of the beloved Puccini aria “O mio babbino caro.” Her breakthrough was transformed quickly into the basis for a serious career. In less than a decade, Evancho has made seven chart-topping albums and DVDs, headlined three PBS television specials, appeared in the film “The Company We Keep” at the request of her co-star Robert Redford, and tirelessly toured the world, singing for Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, other world leaders and her fans everywhere. In addition to her solo success, Evancho has recorded duets with such notable artists as Tony Bennett, Susan Boyle, Il Volo, Placido Domingo, Barbra Streisand, Chris Botti, The Tenors and Joshua Bell. The success of the “little blonde girl with the big voice” from Pittsburgh has defied the odds. Her first major-label recording, “O Holy Night,” made Evancho the top-selling debut artist of 2010, with the EP entering the Billboard 200 chart at No. 2, the youngest solo artist ever to debut in the Top 5. With sales of more than a quarter of a million copies in its first week, “O Holy Night” was certified a platinum record, and Evancho became youngest performer ever to go platinum in the U.S. “Dream with Me” was Evancho’s first full-length album for Sony Music, produced by David Foster, who first encountered her before her breakthrough, when she was nine years old. Debuting at No. 2 in the Billboard 200, the album confirmed the success of “O Holy Night,” featuring duets with Barbra Streisand and Susan Boyle and bringing Evancho a platinum record and international acclaim, the youngest album performer ever to debut in the Top 5 in the U.K. The success of “Dream with Me” established a benchmark for how her career would unfold, a multimedia blitz that took her to television’s best-rated programs, a PBS special and a distinctive tour of sold-out top concert venues around the world. Evancho sang for Pope Francis during his U.S. visit and, a few years before, performed at the lighting of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., where she sang for Obama and his family. Two months later, she was again invited to perform for the president and Congressional leaders during the National Prayer Breakfast. She was also invited to perform on Oprah Winfrey’s farewell special. In 2017, Evancho sang “The Star Spangled Banner” at the inauguration of Trump. Edit: IMO, this article is an example, how to promote an entertainer. After I read this, I have the feeling, if I don't join the show, I'll miss a highlight and I'll regret it for a long time, probably for my life .

Edit: IMO, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra does an extraordinary job to promote this concerts. I can't remember for years, that a host did it in this way.
