Somewhere she said that the pop songs were written by her. That leaves out the songs she has released as singles. We heard the sound check from The Haunting, but that's the only one we've heard so far. It'll be interesting to see what she came up with. It seems her lyrics may be quite thoughtful.

FWIW, Jackie has covered the top three songs in this list of best original songs in Oscar history.

Just for fun, does anyone know all the artists with whom Jackie has sung a duet of The Prayer?

A very nice compliment to The Karate Kid. A nearly forgotten treasure from Jackie's early years.

For those out there who are unfamiliar with Jackie's cover and/or video of All Of The Stars.

MAMA is one of my favorites on the Two Hearts album. I've often wondered where Jackie may have heard it and who may have inspired her to include it on the album. While listening to AccuRadio I discovered that Il Divo had recorded it on their first album in 2004. Jackie's rendition typically demonstrates her authentic emotion and an intimate interpretation of the song.

Her version seems much more sincere with much greater emotion which I think is appropriate. Il Divo's, although good, seems almost upbeat to me.

Since the release of Two Hearts, I've been searching for an original recording of HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE by Jimmie Linville, my favorite on the album. Finally I discovered "Daniel and the Lion", a new Wisconsin band on national tour with Counting Crows. Daniel and the Lion are Jimmie Linville and Daniel Pingrey, who are "champions of The Outlaw Roadshow music festivals". To my knowledge, the only recording available is on Soundcloud. I assume this may have been what Jackie discovered in her "alternative music" search, or was perhaps presented to her by someone for consideration on Two Hearts. Here is the link. soundcloud.com/rslblog-com/daniel-and-the-lion-have-youJackie's recording is true to the original lyrics, although with her own intimate interpretation, of course. The backing lyrics are the same but one is no more intelligible than the other, unfortunately.

Bridge of Troubled Waters is the only one where I still prefer the original somewhat.
