"Jackie Evancho lands record deal after Trump inauguration Fresh off her performance at last month’s presidential inauguration, the Â16-year-old songbird has a new deal with Sony after being courted by several major Âlabels." This Richard Johnson fellow either has some info about a new Sony contract signed since the inauguration last month, that we fans haven't heard about, or more likely, he couldn't be bothered to assign an intern to do twenty minutes of research on Jackie. I suspect it's the latter. The reason I bring it up is many people who are just learning about Jackie may think Jackie had no real success or significant career history before the inauguration. I didn't spot a comments section after the article that we could use to clarify the impression given by Mr Johnson's short piece. EDIT to add: I clicked on Mr Johnson's byline and used the "contact author" function to write him a short, polite, email with a very short review of Jackie's career highlights and awards and asking him to assign an intern to look into Jackie and see if a more in depth article is warranted. It couldn't hurt for others to do the same. SECOND EDIT TO ADD: I mentioned Jackie is double platinum, sang twice for president Obama, twice for Japanese Imperial Family and that Jackie has been under contract to Sony under several corporate divisions since she was ten years old and is sought after for private events. I did not suggest the intern begin with the NPR Tiny Desk OMF performance (that will hook anybody) nor did I mention TWO PBS Great Performances Specials. Thought I'd mention this if anyone else wishes to contact Mr Johnson by email.

Are journalists doing any research lately? Maybe they're in a hurry like most everyone else these days.

Part of this page 6 story is posted as a tweet or retweet on Jackie's site less than 20 minutes ago. I guess that mèans there is a new contract.

I know there there have been creative differences. But I am comforted knowing Jackie is with a major label, even knowing there is interest.

So was Jackie independent of Sony for a while and returned to the fold very recently?

Did the snippet sung in the back seat ever get identified? ["I close my eyes, and I run to you..."] Everyone in the comments was trying to identify the song. To me it sounded like her, so might be one of her new pop offerings?

Hmm, an EP of pop songs plus Two Hearts released on 31 March. All that and a contract with Sony too.

It certainly sounds like the pop music EP will be sold with the CD, not separately.

Two Hearts is being released on Masterworks Broadway. This is a new label for Jackie. I just pre-ordered mine from Amazon.

Jackie said Think About Me would be on the new CD. It isn't. Neither is the Cold Play song although she said it would be.

according to amazon, one of the new pieces will be Mamma. I am hoping this is the same one, sung by Bocelli:

And if that weren't enough, Attesa ahould be on the same album/CD. Sarah Brightman does it beautifully:
