I like your theory that Jackie was influenced by the show "Walking Dead". It's very possible it is a combination of the show and Evanescence. Jackie's writing is somewhat similar to Amy Lee's. Although the following song is a faster tempo than Jackie's it does refer to paradise. I have no idea who Amy is , I was hoping for a faster tempo of light-hearted material but perhaps this is this the tale of Jackies' mood

What he is talking about is old gays. That would be old homosecuectules which i doubt are many here. However i could be wrong about that as Jackie's voice appeals to a lot of different people. Ups!! That was the last I wanted to say. My bad english, we are still learning. (Today I learned what "balls" means, we didn`t learn in school). So I correct to "...we adults..." "Guys" was what I mentioned. Not to fear as there are lots of gay adults with and without balls ... to play football or baseball

From their new album: Hardwired for Self Destruction: You could be right, but I think she wants to write music somewhere between that of Evanescence and Within Temptation. We'll see, but I think she thinks she can use her voice in both the dark and light side of symphonic type pop music.

Gay icons are usually entertainers that are popular with the general public, as well. But quite a few of them have had their careers kept afloat thanks to a very loyal gay following. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_icon

I provided the link just to explain what "gay icon" meant, for those not familiar with the term. I personally think the article over intellectualizes and over psychologizes the phenomenon. The glamour part I get. I had a gay friend from high school that liked Judy Garland and Joan Crawford. It was more about him liking Wizard of Oz and Mildred Pierce than anything philosophical, psychological or religious.

MTF: "...quite a few of them have had their careers kept afloat thanks to a very loyal gay following." PGA: True. None other than Lady Gaga had a loyal gay following as she was getting started. If you ever saw an old LGG concert, they were part singing, part dancing, part confessional & part pep-talk for those who felt ostracized, felt like they didn't belong (e.g., LGBTs).

I am a diehard Jackie fan. I love Jackie and when she sings with her classical voice she is next to none. The Haunting. In my opinion this song is really bad. After reading the lyrics I have no idea what the song is about. It's slow, boring, and it makes no sense. It's just a bunch of words strung together with no point. If this is her first try at song writing she should have thrown it away and started over. It should have never been recorded. Jackie has no future singing stuff like this.
"The inspiration (for the song) is the stability of your mind, and the ghost that is kind of in your head. It haunts you every day of your life and you have to put up with it, no matter what that voice is. Whether it’s a dark voice or an optimistic voice, it’s always there haunting you." - Jackie
Does that give you a way into it, at all? It did for me.

If this album takes off, which is entirely possible, say goodbye to the good old days when you could get a seat a couple of rows from the stage at relatively low prices. She will be plunged into what 'A' list success is. I hope she has the strength to handle it. She has.

My initial reaction is that is a good way of doing it.

Definitely a good way to do it. Maybe still dictated by Sony on the primary genre but a compromise to throw in pop?
